Picket Fence Studios and My Sweet Petunia Collaboration Blog Hop

Today Picket Fence Studios and My Sweet Petunia are collaborating for a fun Blog Hop!

First up, is a fun technique that I wouldn't try without a MISTI because I would never be able to get everything lined up!

First I, inked the solid Wild Wildflowers stamp with Mustard Seed and stamped on the cardstock.

Next, I crumpled up some plastic wrap and dabbed Picked Raspberry ink randomly on the stamp with the plastic wrap.  Then I closed the MISTI lid and stamped a second time transferring the random spots of Picked Raspberry onto the yellow wildflowers.

Lastly, I added a sentiment from Leave as a Friend.  A bit of salty ocean on the edges finishes the card.

Next is a fun background technique I learned from Lydia at her virtual retreat. The background stencil is Flourish Circle.  Using the MISTI,  I stamped the sentiment from Dear Best Friend directly on the background.  I rarely stamped directly on the card base before having a MISTI because if it wasn't stamped clear enough, there is no getting a second inking positioned perfectly. The same can be said for silhouette stamps.  I always stamp twice to get a super dark impression which is just another reason to love the MISTI!  Right now you can get Dear Best Friend and it's coordinating die set for a discounted bundled price!

Both cards were created with the same color triad but with very different results!

Lastly, I want to share this fun project with you because I would not attempt this without the MISTI.  The image was made with Life-Changing Blender Brushes and a watercolor brush. Next, I wanted the sentiment paper to match the background so I stamped a sentiment from the Because set directly on watercolor paper.  Since watercolor paper is textured I stamped several times using the MISTI.  I could never stamp in the exact same spot with an acrylic block but with a MISTI, it's easy peasy!

Today's projects were created with the amazing Mini MISTI.  I love the smaller footprint of the Mini.  It's just right for traveling or stamping in smaller spaces but I use it every day as a companion to my original MISTI.  Right now you can get the Mini MISTI and a Studio Bag  and/or an Original and a Studio Bag at a discounted price!

Ok now for the fun details you have been waiting for!  The blogs to hop are listed below.  Stop by each blog and leave a comment to be entered in the drawing! The winners of a $50 gift certificate to MSP, and a $50 gift certificate to PFS will be announced on the Picket Fence Studio blog and My Sweet Petunia blog on June 2!

Thank You to Heroes Without Capes

Hi there!  Today I am getting glazy on the Picket Fence Studios Blog!   with Picket Fence Studios Paper Glaze comes in 13 beautiful colors plus they can be mixed to create entirely new colors!  I did just that for my first card today.  I mixed Agapantha Purple with Ocean Poppy and spread it over the Fleur Di Lis Stencil.  I think it would look fabulous with the Peacock Mandala Stencil too!  I am always hunting for thank you cards so I used Small Ways to Say Thank You.  Have you had the chance to check out all the sentiments included in this set?  It's an amazing set with a thank you for every occasion!

To view the full card slip on over to the Picket Fence Studios Blog!

I am also hosting the Free 4 All Challenge at Splitcoaststampers where we are adding Sparkle, Shimmer or Shine to our cards!

I logged onto a virtual stamp retreat this past weekend where I learned to create superhero cards without needing to buy a "superhero stamp set"!  I love how this turned out!  I used the Sunburst Stencil for the rays on the yellow and red cardstock pieces. For the top blue layer, I used Snowdrop White Paper Glaze with the Stars Stencil.  Not all heroes wear capes so I used the Good Teacher Stamp and Die Bundle.  (this is on sale right now as a bundled set!)  I love this set.  The sentiments are just right for the teachers in your life!

Thanks so much for stopping by!    Make sure to stop by tomorrow for a Picket Fence Studios Collaboration with prizes!

Happy Memorial Day!
Today, we honor all those who have lost their lives while protecting our country and our freedom.  Deepest thanks to the loved ones of our fallen heroes.

The CAS Challenge at SCS this week is to use paint so I painted a layer and then die cut it with Postage Cuts.  I splattered the layer with pink paint and then added the Thank You die-cut sentiment.

New Dies are in the store and can be found HERE.

Stop by the Impression Obsession Blog to see wonderful projects created by the DT featuring Die Cuts!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Your Light

It's Saturday and that means it's time for a new Inspiration Challenge at SCS.  Amy has chosen a wonderful photo site to inspire us this week.  I found THIS sweet photo of a jar with a light inside.

I can imagine filling this large Picket Fence Studios jar with all sorts of fun images, like candy, hearts, or flowers!  However, this time I went with the lightning bugs that are included with the Fireflies Stamp Set.   There is also a coordinating die with this set which makes cutting the little lightning bugs a breeze.  I finished off the card with a sentiment from the set.

Picket Fence Studios is offering a Memorial Day Sale with free shipping!

And did you know that Picket Fence Studios has an amazing line of Sequins? You can purchase them individually or in this Discounted Bundle.

One in a Melon - A New IO Challenge

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

The new Impression Obsession Challenge is up and it's all about food!  A timely challenge as lately, all I want to do is eat, how about you?

I am featuring the yummy melon slice 1.  So cute.  I think watermelon is the best summer food! Next, I added the burlap die-cut in the background as it makes me think of a picnic.  The One in a Melon sentiment pairs perfectly with a piece of watermelon, don't you think?

Image may contain: fruit and food

Now it's your turn to play along with the challenge!  Head on over to the Impression Obsession Blog to see all the challenge samples from the design team plus details on entering the challenge. You can enter to win a $25 gift certificate from IO by linking up your "Foodie" card.   The winning project will be chosen at random and will be showcased on the IO blog!

I can't wait to see what you create!

Sending Comfort

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

The new Art Nudge on FB is up.  It's a new challenge open to every artist.  I happen to make cards so my art is in the form of greeting cards.

I love the colors in this nudge!  I stamped the Buffalo background stamp in black on blue cardstock using two of the colors in this week's color chart. A trio of 1/2 inch round buttons for the shapes in the photo prompt added because I love these buttons!  Lastly, Sending Comfort for a friend who lost her sister.

No photo description available.

This isn't really for the challenge but it does have blues and even blue polka dots.  I just feel like sharing it today so here it is!  This gorgeous hollyhock stamp covers an entire card with beautiful blooms and I used the I'm Sorry sentiment because I mean, really, it's been hard lately for most everyone!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!
I hope you feel encouraged today by some bright moment in your day!
Hugs!
