I Fish You Were Here

It's time for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers!  Stacy is our host this week and our inspiration is a fashion site.  Splitcoaststampers is a free site and everyone is welcome to join in the fun!

This super cute fish image and sentiment is from the newly released One Year Older set.  The coordinating dies make it so fun to add a fish to a busy background!  I would not want to fussy cut all the little fishy fins and curls.

The background was made by placing the Waffle Squares stencil in watercolor. It's one of those techniques that requires patience but once dry feels a bit like magic!

Designing with Watercolor Powders

It's Picket Fence Studios Release Day and all of my samples feature watercolor powders!

I went on the most amazing adventure a few weeks ago.  I flew to TX and went to Lydia's UNWIND stamping retreat.  After being at the retreat I totally understand phrases about being with your "TRIBE".  There just isn't anything quite so special as hanging out with people that "get you".   We had so much fun learning new things and laughing when they didn't quite work as they were meant to.  I will probably remember laughing at my technique failures long after I forget what the technique actually was!  But today I am not going to share with you the failures, funny as that might be.  Instead, here are a few watercolor powder projects that turned out beautifully.

First up I used this gorgeous tile stencil and watercolor powders to create this amazing background.  The sentiment die is just right to celebrate someone and at the same time, it doesn't compete with the background.

This ART set is amazing which includes most of the art tools stampers use every day!  The Coordinating Die set allows for quick and easy cutting of all the intricate corners on the tools of the artist's trade, making it a must-have!
Since I need to make quite a few "thank yous"  I added a sentiment from the neighborhood.  My need for thank you cards coincides perfectly with the Free 4 All challenge this week!

This next background was created with Lydia's "Hurricane" background technique.  I added the journal and thought the adorable squirrel would be a hoot hanging upside down from the pad.  This super cute set also has a coordinating die set!

25 Days of Christmas Tags!

I am thrilled to be part of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags blog hop which includes prizes!!

I had so much fun creating my tag with fun elements from Picket Fence Studios!  The background was created by inking this fun stencil and spritzing it with water.  Next, I die cut the glass and sponged on delicious color with my Life Changing Blender Brushes.  I stamped the cute candy canes and holly from this sweet Christmas set and used coordinating dies to cut them out.  Lastly, I foiled the Falalalalaaa for a festive sentiment.

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags isn't just about inspiration there are prizes to be won too!
First off, make sure to comment on my post to be eligible for one of the prizes.  Next, make sure to stop by In My Creative Opinion Blog for ALL the details and many ways to be eligible to win a prize!  A special Link-up page can be found on the 1st day!

Old is New - Blue for Thanksgiving

Today is Old is New day at Impression Obsession which means the DT is sharing projects featuring older stamps.  I fell in love with this adorable Fall mouse and couldn't wait to add color!   I added this pretty Thanksgiving sentiment to finish off this Autumn card.

You can find a full list of the DT participating in this week's Old is New Showcase on the Impression Obsession blog.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches for the card design.

Merci in Foil

It's my turn to host the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers this week and I chose a watercolor artist's site.  I love the way she photographs her paints.  Lots of white space! I used one of the paint colors as my inspiration and in keeping with her photographs, I kept my card simple.  I cut down one of the fabulous backgrounds I created at Lydia's Unwind Retreat and I added a foiled impressions sentiment by Picket Fence Studios.  It really doesn't get much easier than that, I only wish I had thought to do it before I tried about a dozen other things!  :)

If you love the Merci Foiled Impression die you might also enjoy the ones below and you can view more in the STORE!

Impression Obsession Challenge - So Thankful

It's time for a new challenge at Impression Obsession!  This time our theme is "So Thankful".

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to let our friends and family know that we are So Thankful for them.  So I chose this sweet Fall Mailbox image and added the Thanksgiving sentiment.  Lastly, I added a bit of distress ink on the background and that's it!

The Impression Obsession Challenge is open to all with just a few simple rules.  You can find all the details here along with a list of Design Team participants!  I hope to see your Harvest Treats card in the IO Challenge link-up!

A Poinsettia Star

It's Saturday and that means it's time for a new Inspiration Challenge at SCS!  Julie has chosen a fun site to stir up our creativity!  I found a planter kit decorated in poinsettias which made me think of the background I created at Lydia's UNWIND retreat. I learned so many things at the retreat, made new friends and laughed a lot!  If you ever get the chance to attend a retreat or a class by Lydia, don't think about it, just go!

The background was created with the Poinsettia Star stamp by Picket Fence Studios. I really didn't want to cover up the background so I used the small Merry Christmas sentiment from this sweet Christmas set.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I would love to see you at the SCS Inspiration Gallery!

Freaking Fabulous!

You are freaking fabulous, yes you are and I am delighted you stopped by today!
I am thrilled to be back on the PFS blog today!  First, I created a gradient background with this terrific stencil and my Life Changing Blender Brushes (also sold in a 4  pack).  The retro ladies remind me of watching older movies with my sister and that is one of my favorite things!  Next, I stamped the sentiment on the background and then I added silver enamel dots to match the border.  And that is it!  Quick and easy can be fabulous!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope this inspires you to get crafty today!

Even Snowmen like Coffee!

The first of the month means a brand new Fan Club Christmas Challenge at Splitcoaststampers and I am playing along with the Free 4 All challenge at SCS.

I chose this darling snowman by Impression Obsession and added clothing accessories.  The background is this wonderful snowball reverse background die.  You might be surprised by what I used for the snowy ground!  I used one of the dies from this waves set! Isn't it fun to find different ways to use our stamps and dies?  I decided a snowcat was needed to finish off the scene.  Lastly, from the reindeer set, I add a bow to the cat's neck.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
