Creating with Coffee

Hello!  For this week's Red Rubber Designs card I checked out the challenges at Splitcoaststampers and found two that combined beautifully together.

Dina is the hostess this week for the MIX157 challenge and her challenge is to paint with coffee!  Mmmmmm...coffee isn't just a beverage anymore!

I watercolored the background layer with coffee then stamped splatters from "So Splattered" with VersaFine ink.  For a final bit of splatter, I took the smallest splatter stamp and brushed it with coffee, then stamped randomly. The single heart, the hearts all in a row and the sentiment are included in the "I Heart You" stamp set.  I love how rich the single heart turned out with an extra dark layer of coffee around the edges!

I distressed all the layers with a distressing tool and TH Distress Tea Dye Ink.  Who knew coffee and tea went so well together!!!

For my final step, I took a glass dipped in coffee and stamped it on the designer paper.

I played with  SC577 sketch and changed it up just a bit for my design.

SNSS Creative Worship Bible Journaling Stamps Hop

Hello, everyone!  Today I am sharing a project featuring SNSS products, His Word and Decorative Banners from their newest Brand, "Creative Worship Bible Journaling"

Bible journaling is a fun and creative way to express scriptural truths with art and it's a snap to personalize our faith journey with Creative Worship Bible Journaling stamps!
If you are not a Bible journaler don't worry, the Creative Worship brand stamps are awesome for any type of project you enjoy creating.  I do not have a Journaling Bible yet so I created bookmarks to pass out to my Bible Study group!

Now thru February 11th you can get this special Bible Journaling Kit:

Once I placed the stamps on the MISTI I couldn't stop at just one bookmark so I stamped six and colored them with different mediums and colors.  Even though I chose one design there are countless possibilities for combining these sets.

My all time favorite way to create a background: Mixed Media paper and Wrinkle Free Distress Technique or stamp ink on craft mat, spritz with water and swish paper through watery ink.

Watercolors on mixed media paper

Distress ink/pen on watercolor paper

Clean layers, Copic markers

For the middle portion of the bookmark, I used a banner from Decorative Banners along with the word MY from Words of Life: Common words 1.

I love how many different looks I was able to achieve with just that one little banner!

Here's a closer look at the stamp sets I used to create today's project.

His Word & Decorative Banners
Name Above All Names
Words of Life: Common words 1

If you scroll up and take a look at the top right corner of the six bookmark photo you will spot a shadow that belongs to this one.  After being gone all day, I just didn't have the heart to move her besides,  you know you wanted to see Her Cuteness!  :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

A SNSS Sneaky Peek

Happy Saturday friends!

I hope you are safe and warm on this winter weekend.

Today I am sharing a little sneak peek of a new Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps bundle to be released Friday the 29th!  The stamp sets are from Krista Hamrick and are part of the new SNSS Creative Worship Bible Journaling brand!!

Even though the new stamp sets are amazing for Bible journaling they can be used to create a variety of projects so for  my little sneaky peek I created a corner bookmark.

I stamped my image, masked it and swished my paper in leftover Brusho's watercolor that was on my craft mat from a previous project.  After it was dry I removed the mask and colored this beautiful image.

That's it for me today.  It looks like winter decided to show up after all so stay safe out there!!!!
Don't forget to check back next Friday so that you can preorder your bundle!

Sweet N Sassy Stamps Cute Critters - A Valentine

Hello, my creative friends!  Today I am sharing a card using Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps Cute Critter set!

All the critters in this set are so sweet but I am especially drawn to the adorable kitty and I colored her to look like our Storm.

I offset the pink oval to give the framing a bit of a twist.

I added the pretty green fiber that was given to me by my sweet friend Janeen, then added a trio of hearts and a pink bow to finish off this valentine that was inspired by the Fusion Challenge.  To create my design, I fused both the sketch and the colors in the photo.

I am also playing along with Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes Challenge

Here's a look the adorable critters and punny sentiments in the Cute Critters stamp set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
