Christmas with Rocky and Apollo

Hello!  In case you need to hear this, it's October 1st!  Yikes!  The first of the month means it's time for a new Fan Club Christmas Challenge at SCS.  I am also entering this in this week's F4ALL Challenge for zoo animals.  Recently, I have come across several stories of domesticated cats making their homes in zoos with bears and other animals!

I took out my favorite Hero Arts Christmas set and debuted Rocky and Apollo!  Ok, so I will have to practice coloring these guys as they are not nearly as easy to color as Tiger and Little Bit but you get the idea!

I used my New Original MISTI for all the stamping.  Oh, this MISTI is a dream to use and so sturdy with new hinges.  If you have been waiting for the New Original MISTI to be back in stock, your wait is over!  Just click the link above and head to the store to place your order!

In case you don't follow me on FB here is a look at our year-old rescues.  According to the vet, they are not brothers and Apollo is younger.  Apollo is very tall and VERY long.  Rocky has short stubby legs and looks like a kitten!  They have the sweetest disposition and very few bad habits.  We are smitten!

IO Die Cut Day - you're A-MAIZEing

Hello!  It's Die Cut Day at IO.
This is the day the team features favorite die projects!

IO recently released some great veggie dies, fun faces, and punny sentiments.  Today I am having fun with corn!

First, I stamped the Boho Mandala then, I die cut the Corn from distress ink backgrounds.  It was a bit of an accident that I was able to make the texture of corn! It came about as I lightly pounced a piece of watery inked acetate on the corn.  The sentiment is from Corn Sayings and it was stamped on a Rounded Corner Sentiments 2 banner.  You can shop the IO store HERE.

Make sure to stop by the Impression Obsession Blog for a list of participants featuring die-cut designs!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Monster Mash

Today at the Free 4 All Challenge it's a Monster Mash!

I made my own patterned paper with the fun Pumpkins background stamp.  I added Mr. Frankenstein and the fun word die EEK!

Also, BIG News!  The New MISTI is back in stock and they are shipping this week!  I really prefer using a MISTI to stamp background stamps.  I know there are other ways but it's just so much easier!

Most Incredible

Hello! Today I am over on the MISTI blog featuring a project that shows just how incredible the MISTI really is!

Combining Stamps to Create a Scene: First, I placed the Make it Your Own Mug stamp in an Original MISTI and stamped three on regular cardstock and two on watercolor paper. (this mug is so fun because the size is such that you really can make it your own by stamping designs on it or simply coloring as I have done here)  Next, I placed the mug-stamped cardstock in the Mini MISTI. A piece of clear acetate came next and then I positioned the butterfly from Spring Elements on the acetate and stamped it.  It took several times to get the butterfly positioned just right. Using the acetate allowed me to wipe the butterfly away and reposition it without wasting paper!

Stamping Multiples: After taking the time to line up the stamps, it would be silly not to stamp multiples!  I stamped the mug and butterfly on several pieces of cardstock and watercolor paper. I plan to stamp a few more since the stamps are still in the MISTIs.

Stamping Backgrounds: I really wouldn't attempt this next step without a MISTI.  I masked the butterfly and mug then stamped the Floral Spray background stamp.  With large stamps like this, it usually requires stamping twice which makes the MISTI an invaluable tool. Lastly, I added the Stay Strong sentiment.

IO Theme Day - Fright Night Silhouettes

Hello!  For this month's Impression Obsession Theme Day we are using silhouettes.

First up, I masked a moon and stamped the Creepy Trees.  I added a zombie and a sentiment from Zombie Sayings.  I sort of cracked myself up with this one.  :)

Next, I created a watery distress background and again used the Creepy Trees.  I dangled a spider from the Spider Trios Die set and added Googly Eyes.  The sentiment is from the Spider Trios Stamp Set.

Stop by the Impression Obsession Blog for links to the Team favorites!

I hope you enjoy seeing the team projects using silhouettes this week!

I am back with a bonus card!  For Watercolor Wednesday I painted a cup of coffee following a couple of tutorials.  The sentiment is from Coffee Mug Sayings!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Fall Colors

Hello, today is the day we set aside at SCS to celebrate a fellow stamper.  This week's Featured Stamper is Natalie.  She makes cards with gorgeous patterned papers but what really struck me was the way she makes multiples!

For my card, I used the background stamp Sunflowers instead of patterned paper.  I chose colors that I wish I would see on a fall day!  I would love to see a riot of bright pink falling from fall trees!  I added the Fall sentiment, a little piece of ribbon, and enamel dots to finish the card.

Thanks for stopping by; you make my day!

If you like the Sunflower background stamp you might like these as well.

Double Trouble

**affiliate links used when possible at no extra charge to you**

Hello!  For the Free 4 All Challenge this week we are seeing double!  We have chosen 2 main focal points as the challenge.

This was a fairly easy card to make.  First, I stamped Hang in There and colored it.  Next, I masked the image and blended Distress ink around the frame.  I added the bat from Halloween Shapes (which is currently on sale)! Lastly, I added googly eyes.

Thanks for stopping by!  Everyone is welcome to play along with us at SCS so I would love to see you there!

PS, if you haven't hopped the Team Favorites there is still plenty of time to comment for a chance to win!  Click HERE to head over to the HOP.

Also, if you like the Halloween Shapes they are included in the current sale!
