Painting my Stamp and Red Rubber Designs

Hello, friends!  Phew!  It's good to be feeling better.  I can breathe again without feeling like someone is sitting on my chest.  Always a nice thing!

I couldn't wait to get into my stamp room so I checked out Splitcoaststameprs TLC575 challenge.  Karen is having us paint our stamps today.  She has three different ways for us to paint our stamps. I chose to combine painting this gorgeous Rosebud image from Red Rubber Designs with Brushos Color Crystals and TH Distress Markers as I don't have a wide range of colors in Brushos yet.

I painted the stamp with TH Distress Markers and misted the image with water, then stamped with the MISTI.  The MISTI was invaluable in my process because I stamped the image numerous times with different shades of ink.
(TH: Red Brick, Barn Door, Seedless Preserves, and Forest Moss)

Next I lightly painted with Brushos.
(Leaf Green, Brilliant Red, and Scarlet)

To finish off my painting, I masked the layer and sponged TH Distress Ink Salty Ocean, then with very little water ran a brush over the sponging.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!!

Here's one last look at the beautiful Rosebud stamp:

SCS Color Challenge and Red Rubber Designs Fern

 Hello, friends!
Well, I am still coughing but I think the flu has left the building and I am ready to create again!

I have had a blast all month long as Guest designer for Splitcoasstampers Color Challenge.  The month simply flew by!

For today's card, I used CC571 colors and Fern Sprig  from Red Rubber Designs.

To create the background I used a stencil and added gesso.  When the gesso was dry I added distress stain to the background.  I enjoy using this gesso resist technique but stamping on the texture can be problematic.  With the deeply etched lines of the Red Rubber Design stamp and the MISTI it was a snap!

For the inside, I used a sentiment from Joyful Notes which can be found in the Red Rubber Designs store.  I chose this sentiment because a relative of a friend was in a car accident hit by a drunk driver.  So very sad.  To find out about her story click HERE.

I hope you have a fabulous week and now before I go, I will leave you with one last look at the beautiful stamp sets I used today.

Red Rubber Designs - Seasons of a Tree

Hello, friends!  This is my week to share a Red Rubber Designs card on the Red Rubber Designs blog.  I created two very different cards featuring,

For my first card, I used Brushos Crystal Colors for a spring/summer look and for my second card I used patterned paper and painted the image for a Fall look.

I hope you will hop on over to the Red Rubber Designs blog and take a look at both cards and let me know what you think!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Wonders of Lost Olives - A Thank You

Greetings!!!  I hope that you have had a good start to the week!

Today I am sharing a card I created as Guest Designer for Splitcoasstampers Color Challenge, CC569. Karen is our hostess this week and the title of her challenge is "Wonders of the Lost Olives", isn't that fun!!   Splitcoaststampers is a FREE online community that offers a personal gallery to share your art, daily challenges, chat threads and much more!  If you haven't checked out Splitcoaststampers I hope you will!

This beautiful butterfly stamp was given to me by my friend JoAnn.  Three of us are creating with the same stamp! It's so much fun to see what we all come up with!  For my card I stamped the butterfly with VersaFine Onyx Black then watercolored with Inktense Pencils.  The "Thank You" die cut is from MFT simply titled "Thank You".  :)  The paper is from a retired stack and was the first stack of paper I purchased from SU!  Yes, when it comes to paper I am a bit of a collector/treasure, doesn't that sound better than hoarder??

I created this for a sweet friend who sent me a lovely winter package!

Thanks so much for looking and stay warm out there!!!!

Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge

Happy Tuesday friends!

I am so delighted to be a  guest designer for the Color Challenge at Splitcoaststampers along with my good friend, Brenda aka (tessaduck) during the month of February!  This week's CC568 challenge can be found HERE!

I played along with Mojo Monday challenge MOJO433 for my design.  I stamped the flower from Verve's "Everlasting Life" directly on the cardstock and paper pieced the petals then added a butterfly.

I popped up the petals on the large bloom for added dimension.

Verve's "Everlasting Love" is a gorgeous Easter stamp set and the CC568 just seemed right for Easer so I created the inside and added the Easter Blessing.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will check out both challenges!!!
