Speedy Fox & Friends 109 - Heat Embossed Main Image

Today's challenge at Speedy Fox & Friends is to heat emboss the main image!  I love heat embossing as it really  makes the image stand out!   I can't wait to see all the wonderful  projects linked up this week at Speedy Fox & Friends!

With the challenge in mind I set to work on the gift set for my daughter's teacher.  She loves horses so it was an easy choice to use the beautiful stamp set Wild Horses.

For my horse, I inked my image with VersaMark ink then sprinkled  black powder on the image and heated with my heat gun.  I cut the horse out and popped it up with foam pads.  For the background I sponged ink directly onto the Fleur de Lis die cut square.  My DP is fromGraphics 45 "Fashionista".

I hope you have a great weekend that includes some stamping time!!!!

Speedy Fox & Friends 108 - Father's Day

This week's theme challenge at Speedy Fox & Friends is Father's Day!  So let's celebrate with a fun masculine card!  I used Wild Horses for my card.  This image reminds me of  the best vacation we ever went on.  We flew out to Arizona and spent the week.  At the time our son was 5 years old.  He had lots of energy  so we played a game to help keep him occupied.  We bought post cards at the National Parks we visited.  We then went on a hunt to find the actual sights depicted in the post card.  Our little guy had so much fun, he wouldn't let us leave the parks until we found EVERY scene from every post card purchased!!!!  What an awesome memory!
Now without further ado....here is my Father's Day card.  Don't you just love that lasso?!!

Teacher Appreciation

I made this card a few weeks ago using the butterfly because Elisabeth loves it and wanted a card for her Sunday School teacher.  Today I made the note pad with cover to go with it.  I used some of the same papers from K & CO and added another from the collection.  This set is not an exact match.......because, well, I like to play around and experiment with different things.  We think we will add a pen and that will finish up our gift.  We have been blessed to have such an awesome couple teach Elisabeth!!!  They really care about the students and go the extra mile with extra activities to help make the message come alive.  In just a couple of weeks we will say good-bye to them as they take a break  for the summer and Elisabeth moves up to middle school small group!  Yikes!  My baby....is moving on!

Here's what I came up with:

Speedy Fox & Friends 107 - Use Chalk

My first week as a DT member with MFP a HC was a blast!  I enjoyed looking at all the works of art that were entered into our challenge last week.  For this week we are to use chalk!  I used the awesome new  stamp set: "Oopsy Daisy".  I layered the petals of the flower 3 times.  I stamped once on to the black card stock and chalked the image.  Then I stamped the flower a 2nd and 3rd time onto black card stock and cut those out.  The 2nd one I popped up with a foam squares and attached to main flower..  For the 3rd image I cut the center of the flower out, then  cut shorter petals and glued them on the yellow center.  Once dried the center with petals was glued onto the 2nd layer.  For a final touch I pinched the edges of the petals down to give them more dimension.  The ladybug was stamped on red card stock then shined up with Glossy Accents.

I hope to see you over at Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge this week. I can't wait to see all the beautiful chalk art linked up!  Remember if you use MFP a Heinrich Company stamps your name gets entered into the drawing twice!

Mother's Day Card- Every Day Enchantment

I have been wanting this stamp set since I first saw it last July.  I finally bought it and it's getting a work out twice for Mother's Day!!!!  My mother-in-law loves coral and aqua.  I think I met the criteria with this card!  There are tiny gemstones in the middle of the flowers that makes them sparkle but sadly I couldn't capture it with my camera.  The butterfly and the pillow are paper pieced.

Now it's time to get this bit of paper and love into the mail!!!!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Speedy Fox & Friends # 106 - Use 3 of Something

I am so excited to be on the design team at MFP a Heinrich Co.!  This is my first sample and it's  for  Speedy Fox & Friends # 106 - Use 3 of Something.   I used this beautiful stamp set: "Sending Happy Thoughts" and decided on ribbon and bows for my "3 somethings".   I had trouble trying to decide what to do with the bottom of the card.  After sleeping on it (not literally...that would have messed up the card) LOL!  I tried  my hand at pleating ribbon. What a fun embellishment!  I will definitely use ribbon pleating again.  I am not sure how clearly you can see the pleating behind the sentiment in the photo but it's cute in person.  For this card I secured black pearls in the center of the flower with glossy accents.  The glossy accents settled around the pearls for an added dimension to the center.  I used Prismacolor pencils and OMS to color the image.

Thanks so much for looking!  I Hope to see you over at  Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge this week!

CPS - 263

I am using this fun sketch from CPS for my card today.  I have a lot of teacher "thank you" cards to create so here is one using this gorgeous butterfly from MFP a Heinrich Co. "Today, Tomorrow and Always"

I  heat embossed the butterfly with black powder then painted with Perfect Pearls.  I just love the way the butterfly turned out!!!!  I will be honest I had a bit of trouble getting the sentiment right.  I tried a different label at first and it just didn't work but I think this one does.
The label die is from Spellbinders: Fancy Tags 2.
