MIXed Leaves - Red Rubber Designs

It's the last Thursday of the month and that means it's my turn to share a design for Red Rubber Designs!   I am so excited to show you my mixed media creation and I can't wait to hear what you think!  I was inspired by Vivian Keh at ContadinaK.

Here's a little sneak peek:

I used two of the splendid leaf stamps from Red Rubber Designs: Luscious Leaves  for the outside and three of the leaf designs on the inside.
I hope you will hop on over to  Red Rubber Designs blog to see the rest of the card and let me know what you think!

In My Thoughts

Hello! Angie here on this hot summer day!  It's been hotter than normal here with heat indexes of 100 - 105 degrees.  Ugh!  I am staying inside and coloring as often as possible, how about you?

I used the gorgeous lotus flower, dragonflies and sentiment from our new stamp set, Lovely Lotus.

I have two dear friends going through a very difficult time right now so I was totally drawn to this sentiment as both of them are in my thoughts throughout the day.  I just love the font on these beautiful sentiments and there are nine to choose from!

For my design, I played along with Splitcoaststampers SC550 which is to choose a sketch.  I chose SC545

Lovely Lotus

Hello, Friends!

I am thrilled to share that Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is releasing two new stamp sets for preorder today!!!  Lovely Lotus and Floral Pattern Background clear stamp sets combine  beautifully!   For my sample, I featured the smallest of three lotus blossoms, a dragonfly and one of eight sentiments from Lovely Lotus.  Don't you just love the font on the sentiment?

I stamped the sentiment on a Mini Tags Die cut tag then fussy cut a little dragonfly and popped him up, he looks like he is flitting over to the blossom!

Funny story!  The day I was putting the finishing touches on this card I received a card from Janeen.  I loved the way she tied some ribbon so I tried it for my card.  When I thanked her for the inspiration she said she took the idea off one of my cards!  LOL

For the background, I used a cool "fresco" technique Lydia at UnderstandBlue shared recently.
It really doesn't matter if paint gets into the background when watercoloring because the second step hides it!

I hope you will stop by Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps blog to view the gorgeous samples the rest of the team has designed for your inspiration, several of the samples show how beautifully the stamp sets combine!

Christmas in July!

Happy Monday to you!
I don't know about you but I am over the whole heat thing so I was delighted to see that this week's Splitcoaststampers CAS333 challenge is, Christmas in July!  I also played along with TLC542, All Different Directions.

I pulled out my Red Rubber Designs stamps featuring the snowflakes and a sentiment from, Vintage Santa Rubber Stamp.  In honor of Lee, the CAS challenge hostess (and well, let's be honest we all know I love pink and bling too) I created a PINK Christmas card with lots of sparkle!

I played along with CAS(E) this Sketch:

One of the really cool things about this stamp set is that it is sold as a large set or can be purchased as three smaller sets:

Sooo Thinking of You

Happy Saturday to you!

I carved out some stamping time yesterday and had a blast  combining two Splitcoasstamper challenges with a Red Rubber Designs image!

The F4A281 encouraged us to think BIG and use a large image so I pulled out the Red Rubber Designs, Gerbera Daisy for my image.   I colored the daisy with Inktense pencils and an aqua brush, then sponged distress ink on the edges.  MIX128 had us doodling so I doodled a frame around the daisy with a little help from Jeanne Streiff.

For the base layer, I used one sheet of designer paper from Rustic Chic.  At $1.49 this stack is an amazing deal!

For the center I added brown reinker to glass bead texture paste.

On the inside, I used this super fun sentiment from the "Red Rubber Designs, Joyful Notes" stamp set.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look today!!!

Espresso My Thanks

Hello, Angie here with a little "thank you" card to share.  My daughter and I escaped hot Georgia for ten days and received blissful pampering by my sister. Naturally my first card creation upon returning needed to be a thank you!   My sister has a Nespresso machine and treated me to several varieties while I was visiting so I thought the cup and sentiment from Sweet 'N Sassy's, "Pick Me Up Clear Stamp Set" was perfect for the occasion!
