February Food Fun

Hi!  Today is the last day of the month so that means it is time for "Blogging with Friends" monthly challenge where a group of us challenge each other to create card(s) with a theme and then go visiting to see what we've all come up with!  This month's theme is "Food" and it's brought to us by  Janeen  .

It's been an absurdly busy month at our house so after more than a week of no stamping it was with great pleasure that I sat down to stamp today.  Wow, did I need my stamping fix!   I used a stamp set I won recently, from "Technique Tuesday" called "Eat Chocolate" and I think the sentiments are very appropriate for the month I have had!

First up is, "Keep Calm & Recharge".  I am entering it into BasicGrey challenge - Anything Goes. I used BasicGrey - Paper Cottage 6x6 pad.

Next up is "Keep Calm and Eat Chocolate".  I tried a bit of Washi tape with this one.

I decided to take a time out from preparing my house for weekend guests and created this set for the Taylored Expressions LoveFest challenge over at SCS.

 Thanks for looking!

Speedy Fox & Friends 148 - My State

Hi!  Wow, we made it to the end of the week!!!  That means it's Speedy Fox & Friends time!  Our challenge this week is to create a card with something about the State we live in.   Join us HERE to see all the lovely inspiration and get the info on how to play along this week!  At the bottom of this post you can see the stamp set you could win for playing along!

My first thought when I think of my state is the Peach.  My husband's thought is all the pine trees and camping. Since I don't have any stamps that fit those stand out GA images, I was a tad stumped for a bit.   I tried a couple of things but they looked better in my head!!!  So I thought it would be fun to use the music score from JUST a NOTE  and pair it with the computer generated sentiment "Georgia on my mind".

Inspiration struck for the GA flower when I glanced at the shelf with my stamp box.  I always place the brand new stamps in front and vertical so that they are visible above the box.  My eye caught at the clover from Lots of Luck  that was placed in  front.  I stamped it twice and added a die cut  center and I think it makes a pretty good Cherokee Rose (GA state flower).

Welcome to the last day of the hop.  I hope you have enjoyed viewing the new releases this week!  Today's set is "All Postal" and it's such fun to play with.  You can create your very own postcard from scratch!  Design it any way you like.  The set includes a stamp all finished up for you or you can make your own with the stamp outline in two different sizes.

For my card I created a stamp using the small "stamp" outline.  I masked everything off the postage stamp except for the 25cents, punched out a butterfly and glued it to my "postage stamp".  I used the chain from LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to divide the sides of my postcard and I stamped "Post Card" vertically.  Then to finish it off, I stamped in black the postal mark!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog this week.  I hope you will check out the rest of the team to see their fabulous projects and don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win today's stamp set!

Welcome to day 2 of the hop!  Today I have two cards to share.  After polling my people I have mixed opinions on which one is the best!  I will let you be the judge!

I heat embossed the image and then sponged ink around the embossing.

For this one I changed up the sentiment and the color and added some water spots.

I thought I would share this one with you in case you haven't seen it.  I created this for a SCS challenge this week to use a different fold.  This is called a Flap card and it's really fun to create.  I used 2 small sticky velcro dots to keep the card closed and so far they seem to be doing a good job!

The inside: The Humming bird is a gorgeously detailed stamp.  I stamped it in brown on an envelope the other day and it really made the envelope look beautiful.

Welcome to day one of the hop!  For my first card I created a pocket to hold a tag and stamped the Pot with clovers to decorate the pocket.

Shown with the tag outside the pocket with a sentiment from the "Lots of Luck" stamp set.

A simple inside stamped with the large clover stamp.

For my second card I created a clean and simple design.  I wish "simple" could mean ....quick and easy! This took me hours of trial and error, playing around with stamp designs and papers before I finally decided on this!

A close up to see how cool this clover turned out.  The lines on this stamp make it easy to cut out, and fold to give lots of dimension!
