Mini Pocket Cards

Hello friends! Today I am showcasing two handmade mini pocket cards featuring papers and stamps from the newest SweetMissDaisy Designs May Release. I am also playing along with this week’s Featured Stamper Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. These little pocket cards were so much fun to create and would be perfect for birthdays, happy mail, gift enclosures, or tucked into a larger card!

Let’s hop right to it!

Process

For my first mini pocket card, I selected a sheet of 6x6 Meow Paper from SweetMissDaisy Designs. I scored the paper at 3 inches, making sure the patterned paper would be right side up once folded. Next, I scored the bottom at 2 inches.

Using scissors, I cut along the 3-inch fold starting at the bottom edge and stopping at the 2-inch score line. Once folded, the project mimics a tiny card with a functional pocket. I rounded the edges of the pocket and folded down the top edge for a polished, finished look. Then I glued the side edges to create the pocket.

For the inside, I repeated the same process by folding the 2-inch section upward to create another pocket and adhered the edges in place.

Next, I die cut four tags. On one tag, I stamped the darling cupcake-carrying kitty from the Let’s Celebrate stamp set and colored her to coordinate with then Meow patterned paper. I tucked a blank tag into the inside pocket so there is space to write a personal message.

For the third tag, I stamped the adorable pup carrying a bone and colored him to coordinate with the Dog Prints patterned paper design.

I created a second mini pocket card using the same technique, this time featuring Dog Prints Paper. I absolutely love how the red paw print patterned paper contrasts with the black-and-white bone print on the folded pocket section. I finished the front with a “Make a Wish” sentiment for an extra festive touch.

These mini pocket cards may be small, but they are packed with charm and personality!

Beach Mail & Birthday Wishes Handmade Birthday Card

 We are headed to the beach for the Splitcoaststampers Free 4 All Challenge, and I could not resist creating a handmade beach birthday card to celebrate! February has been especially cold, so bringing a little coastal sunshine into my craft room felt just right.

This layered seaside card was created for a dear friend across the pond who recently celebrated a big birthday. I wanted the design to feel like a special piece of mail—something cheerful, dimensional, and full of beach charm.

I featured beautiful coastal patterned papers that my sweet friend Janine gave me and paired them with the Waffle Flower Postage Collage Dies and postage elements. I love using these postage collage dies to create custom layouts. You may remember I used the full panel design on my Elf Mail card (you can see that project here), but for this beach birthday card I decided to build my own layered postage arrangement instead.

Using a large postage stamp die plus several smaller dies from the Postage Collage Die set, I cut beach scenes directly from the patterned paper. I also stamped and die-cut several postage images from the Waffle Flower stamp set. Some postmarks were stamped directly onto the card base to create depth and a realistic mailed look, while others were die-cut and fussy-cut to add dimension.

Layer by layer, the coastal scenes and postage elements came together into a textured seaside collage. The mix of stamped postmarks, die-cut postage shapes, and beach imagery creates movement and visual interest—almost like a collection of travel memories captured in miniature frames.

To complete the design, I added sparkling sequins for a bit of shimmer. And I am happy to report that the sequins made it safely across the pond intact—always a small victory when mailing dimensional cards!

Happy Hippo Birthday Party

 Hello everyone!

The Improving Your Performance VSN Challenge at Splitcoaststampers inspired my card today, and this was such a fun one to revisit. For this challenge, we’re asked to select a previous card and then improve or change it—and I immediately knew which card I wanted to work from.

I chose a sweet card I made back in March 2025 titled Dotted Spring featuring Pajama Crafter Stamps, stamps and dies. I’ve always loved how happy and cheerful that card feels, especially with all that bright yellow. For today’s birthday card, I kept the same basic layout but made several playful changes to give it a fresh, party-ready feel.

I started with the Bare Branches Tree Die, trimming away a few branches and coloring it with markers. I turned the die on its side. Instead of a tree, it became a sturdy branch for the bird trio from the Where Hope Blooms stamp set to perch on. The birds' position mirrors their placement in Dotted Spring.

Next, I swapped out the kitty from the original card and stamped one of the adorable hippos from the Hippo Hooray stamp set. I also changed the sentiment, replacing Happy Spring with the Happy Birthday greeting from the same set and stamping it neatly beneath the branch.

Then it was time to party—literally! I experimented with different party hat colors and even tried a few patterned papers before deciding that bold red hats colored with markers made the biggest impact. Since the party hat in the Hippo Hooray set is quite tall, I used the shorter hat from the Toadally Awesome Birthday stamp set instead—it fits the birds perfectly.

After fussy cutting those tiny hats, I snipped off the pom-poms and replaced them with gold gems for a little sparkle. To finish off the celebration, I added small enamel dots in bright colors to coordinate with the background paper.

I’m celebrating this week’s Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper, TeriJ, and her absolutely lovely gallery! One card in particular—her Rainbow of Flowers—jumped out at me immediately. The way the lower portion of her card is divided into bright, cheerful sections reminded me so much of the Bright Candles Paper Pack by SweetMissDaisy Designs.

I leaned fully into that inspiration and let the colorful patterned paper take center stage. Sometimes the best design choice is simply stepping back and letting great paper shine! To finish things off, I added sentiments from the Woot Dee Doodle Doo stamp set—“Woot Dee Doodle Doo” and “have the best day ever”—along with a few enamel dots for a little extra polish.

For my birthday card, I’m featuring the frogtastic Toadally Awesome Birthday stamp set. I had an absolute hoot creating a birthday “selfie” with one of the frogs front and center—clearly ready for their big moment. Of course, I couldn’t resist a little photobombing, so another frog is hanging upside down in the selfie frame, adding even more personality and playful charm.

I stamped the balloon string right along the edge of the photo frame and popped up the balloon for extra dimension. The “Happy Birthday” sentiment is stamped on the lower portion of the frame, and because birthdays should always be extra, I added a tiny party hat to finish it off. 🥳

Pink, Playful, and Purr-fectly Sweet

Hello friends! I made a sweet birthday card that’s just right for February birthdays, pink lovers, and anyone who can’t resist an adorable kitty. And speaking of birthdays… happy birthday to Pajama Crafter Stamps! 🎉

For this card, I used the charming Meowentine stamp set for my focal image. This little kitty, full of personality, I stamped onto the gorgeous Scalloped Circle Die. This die instantly adds a soft, decorative touch and is such a standout—especially since it’s currently an especially sweet deal while supplies last.

The sentiment comes from the wonderfully versatile Mix & Match Sentiments stamp set. I love this set because it truly works for every occasion and includes both a bold, playful font and a small typewriter-style font. For this card, the small sentiment was perfect for nestling right next to the kitty on the scalloped circle without overwhelming the image.

For the background, I paired patterned paper from the Cat’s Meow Paper Pack with classic red cardstock for a pop of contrast. I’m also playing along with this month’s SSSIGChallenge over at @simonsayschallenge, which features using an embossing folder. I embossed pink cardstock, trimmed it into two banner shapes, and tucked them behind the scalloped circle to add texture and dimension.

This also fits Art Nudge 0126B with the cat theme.  My cat has a bright white tuxedo spot just as in the photo, but my pink is a softer color than the color palette. 

Snowflakes, Farmhouse Giggles & Bright Birthday Wishes

Welcome to the SweetMissDaisy December Release Day! I had such a wonderful time playing with the gorgeous stamps and cheerful papers in this month’s collection, and I’m so excited to share four cards with you today. Each one brought its own little spark of joy while I was creating, from snowy scenes to farmhouse giggles to bright, happy birthday wishes. Let’s take a tour!

Snowman With Wreath in Blue

I started the release with a peaceful winter moment. I stamped the Decorative Snowflake background stamp in a soft blue to create my own patterned paper, then die-cut it with a sweet scalloped edge. The darling Snowman with Wreath takes center stage, trimmed out and grounded on a little strip of lace for a cozy, homespun touch. A sprinkling of blue enamel dots adds a bit of frosty shimmer to finish off this gentle, snow-kissed design.

I am also playing along with the Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge.

The Farmhouse Fancy Duck (Woot de Doodle Do)

This one made me laugh the whole time I was making it—I fully cracked myself up! I stamped the Chicken Wire background in gray, then created a decorative frame by die-cutting it in both gray and white. After stamping and coloring the birthday duck from Woot de Doodle Do, I placed him inside the frame… and then hung it on the chicken wire.

And honestly? I think this duck is delighted with its own portrait—fancy frame, chicken wire, and all. It’s the ultimate Farmhouse gallery wall moment! Still giggling.

Bright Birthday Wishes (Bright Candles Paper Pack)

 I dove headfirst into color for the next card! The Bright Candles Paper Pack is a true must-have if you love cheerful, happy card making. I layered several patterns for a lively background, then stamped the adorable group of feathered friends from Woot de Doodle Do. After die-cutting them with a rounded-square frame, I added a bow and a Birthday Wishes sentiment. It’s bright, bold, and bursting with celebration!

 Joy to the World Snowman

To wrap up the release, I returned to Christmas with a fresh snowfall feel. I stamped the Spiral Snowfall background in blue and layered a bright white panel on top. The sweet Snowman with Wreath makes another appearance—this time colored in cheerful reds and yellows. I added a “Joy to the World” sentiment and finished the card with die-cut snowflakes for a festive, sparkling finish.

Posies & More - Day 2 of IO March Release & Hop

Today is day two of the March Impression Obsession Release & Hop. First, I am featuring these pretty Layered Posies. This set is fun because you can layer different colors for the petals on one flower. The die includes full flowers and partial flowers. The partial flowers can be used with two colors and glued together to make one multi-colored flower. I chose to color them all the same for this project but it's a super fun option to layer multiple colors on one flower head! I used the Gnome Sayings stamp set to add a heart to the Garden Pot and the sentiment. A piece of Basics 12 Limes paper was used in the background. 

Next, I made a cute little birthday card featuring the Birthday Bunnies stamp set.  I stenciled the Birthday Confetti background from this month's Birthday Hugs Bundle to create a celebratory background. I cut the images and sentiment with the Birthday Bunnies Die set and placed them on a Rounded Corner Stitched Square.  

My last card for today made me smile. The Chicken In image is so cute and the Chicken In Dies made it easy to create a fun scene. I die-cut a panel with a Rounded Rectangle 2. Then I used the Cloud Grass Scene and Edgers stencils to set the stage! Chicken Wire paper is the last detail to mention but it was the first piece on the cardbase!

It's Your Day - IO Monthly Set Release & Hop

Birthday Balloons & Cake - IO Monthly Set Release Hop

Hello and welcome to the March Bundle Release Day! The Birthday Hugs Bundle comes with coordinating stamps, stencils, and dies, providing hours of crafting fun and endless possibilities! To start off, I used the 2-step balloon stencil. Since the balloon stencils are 2 stencils that make up the entire image, I found it easy to stencil balloons in multiple colors without covering several balloon openings. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment on a Rounded Rectangle Layer.

For my next card, I stenciled the party confetti on the background. I then stamped and die-cut the cake and candle. Using the coordinating stencil to quickly ink color onto the cake and candle was fun! Lastly, I stamped the sentiment on a Rounded Rectangle Layer.

Easy Birthday Watercolor

Christmas Treats & More for Day 2 - IO October Release & Giveaway Hop

I cannot lie, I love creating coffee cards, and Impression Obsession has a wide array of coffee dies to choose from.  There is even a small coffee cup in this month's Seasonal Cupcake Topper Die set! I decided to feature the Coffee To Go set on this card.  First, I created a background by ink-blending the center.  Then I splattered it with water. Next, I added a trio of Country Snowflakes.  Lastly, the fun Christmas Coffee Saying was stamped onto a Rounded Rectangle Layer.  

Next, I am featuring the jumbo Cupcake die set.  This die set offers loads of possibilities.  I made a Christmas cupcake paper from the Homespun Christmas Paper pack.  Then I added die-cut pieces from the Seasonal Cupcake Topper Die set. I   used this sentiment from the Christmas Baking set because I love watching Christmas movies!  Once again, I stamped the sentiment on a Rounded Rectangle Layer.     

This last card features many of the items used on my previous card. Are you as hungry for a cupcake as I am?  The fun thing about paper cupcakes is that they are zero calories.  Also, they are easier to create than baking cupcakes, in my opinion!   Here's what I used for this cupcake creation!

I had a ball with the new Chicken Christmas Sayings sentiment set!  The sentiment set has 5 punny sayings and two small images; perfect for the bird lover in your life!   First, I die-cut the One Cute Chick. I added a few details with a marker and gel pen.  Next, I gave him a Jingle Bell to hold. I chose a piece of patterned paper from the Homespun Christmas Paper Pack for the background. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment on a Rounded Rectangle Layer and adhered it to the base. 

Birthdays are among my favorite days to celebrate; what better way to celebrate than with a handmade card?  To create this bright birthday card, I stamped the Bubbles background stamp on bright yellow cardstock.  Next, I stamped the candles from Make a Wish on Postage Cuts.  Lastly, I fussy cut the sentiment and added enamel dots.
