Til the Clouds Roll By

Hello!

This week, the Free 4 All Challenge is cloudy, with a chance of more clouds! In other words, we are featuring clouds on our projects!

I had so much fun with the Cloud/Grass stencil this past month! Take a look at the scene in this first card. I created mountains from the clouds by placing the stencil border upside down and sponging downward. Next, I turned the stencil the usual way and made clouds! The cloud stencil includes grass on one of the 4 sides, so an entire nature scene can be made with one stencil! I die-cut a Bare Branch, used the negative as a stencil, and then added the funny skeletons from Skeleton Boogie. The sentiment was stamped on the banner from the Deckled Frame set.

Next, I made a border layer with the Cloud/Grass stencil and Distress Inks. I added a bit of splatter, and that was it. It's super easy and fun, too! The cute ghosts are from the Happy Haunting set! They are cute and easy to fussy cut, even for me! LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Picket Fence Studios May Release - You Inspire Me

Welcome to the May Picket Fence Studios Release!  This is such a fun spring release and I can't wait to share it with you!

First, I just fell in love with the dreamy, Dream With Me Cover Plate.  I die-cut a layer from a background in my stash featuring ink smooshing with Distress Oxides.  For the silhouette, I simply die-cut the girl on the swing in black and adhered it to the original die-cut.  I created an evening sky with the 52 Layers of Clouds Stencil and then die-cut both the base and the Cover Plate with the Slimline DCS Scallop Frames.  I then sprinkled a few Jewel of the Nile Sequins in the sky.  Lastly, I used a sentiment from the Tropical Hibiscus Bouquet set.

For my next card, I am excited to share the beauty of the new Ombre Sky Blues Paper Glaze trio!  The blues are just lovely together.  I used the Slimline Rainbow Stencil and spread the lightest glaze to the darkest onto the stencil.  After it was dry I die cut the layer with the Slim Line Nested Rectangle Die and the Palm Tree Slim Line DCS Insert.  I cut the insert out a second time from black paper to create a silhouette.  Lastly, I added hello three times using the word die that is included in the Slimline DCS Scallop Frames.

For my last card, I am sharing one of the new butterfly stencils in an A2 format.  There are 5 new butterfly stencils out this month so check the selection in the New Release Category of the store!  For this card, I used the Wander Butterfly Stencil.  With LC Blending brushes I blended ink over the top of the previously made background.  The sentiment is from the Tropical Hibiscus Bouquet set.  Lastly, I added Sands of Time Gems to the body of the butterfly. This will be going to my sister who inspires me!  In her 50's with very little prior education, she went to college and is now a teacher! She will be teaching 1st grade in the fall!  Her favorite color is green and she totally inspires me!

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look today! There is a lot more I didn't get to share with you today so stop by the PFS Store for a look at all the new products HERE!

A Smashing New Release from Picket Fence Studios

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

Happy Monday to you!  It's Monday and time for the December Picket Fence Studios Release!  There are lots to look at this time so we will hop right to it!
I really like the new Do Good Recklessly set.  It's just right for masculine cards plus it's not something you see everywhere which makes it a must-have for me. I love the bold sentiments and versatility as it works well for both feminine and masculine projects.   I paired it with Paul James Guy, (Coordinating Die) and the new SlimLine Grass/Floor/Waves stamp.

Next up, we have the new SlimLine Clouds stencil!  Oh, I just love it so much.  :) After stenciling the clouds, I used the Slimline Die Cutting System and cut a circular window, then stamped a sentiment from Do Good Recklessly.  ***Tip!  Keep the shapes that are made when using the Die Cutting System as they make handy layers for cards!***  Next, I added the grass from SlimLine Grass/Floor/Waves stamp and a bunny from Peach and Piper! (Coordinating Die).  Since we have Leaves for Flowers new this month, I thought it would be fun to add leaves and flowers for the cute bunny to wear on her head.  I used the Leaves Coordinating Die for quick and easy cutting! The leaves coordinate with the Beautiful Girl Flowers and their Coordinating Die set and make a sweet combination.  I think she looks adorable!  Even though 2020 has been weird for most of us, it's also given us a few benefits.  Life is good.

Next up, how about a little Walk in the Park!  I used the SlimLine Clouds stencil and the Corner Sun Stencil for the sky.  The Coordinating Die allows us to build fun scenes with 8 different park goers!

A Bird and a Birthday for DTGD Day 4 & Giveaway

I have two cards to share for Day 4 of the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges at Splitcoaststampers!

I can't get enough of this super sweet Songbird Set by Picket Fence Studios.  I drew a little tree limb for the bird to perch on and then I used the smaller puffy clouds on the Layers of Clouds Stencil.  If I could I would put a cat, a bird and clouds on every card I create!  Well, maybe that would not hold everyone's interest!  Haha!

Next up is this fun Birthday card.  I used a Clearanced die set to create this fun shape.  I simply added the Happy Birthday sentiment, a little pink tulle and some enamel dots and that was it!  Pictured below are some lovely images that can be purchased along with the Birthday sentiment.  Just click a photo and it will take you right to the store!  Or you can click the link to the Alesa Baker Collection.

I just want to say thank you for stopping by even when there isn't a GIVEAWAY!  I appreciate your comments so much!  So I have decided to do a Giveaway!  I have a small collection of never used and gently used stamps and stencils.  I am going to split up the items and draw two winners!  All you have to do is comment on my Dare to Get Dirty Posts!  I started posting on August 22nd and the last day will be the 28th.  Leave a comment on any or all of the posts by August 31st.  The more days you comment the more chances to win!  I will post the winners on Saturday, Sept 5th so make sure to stop back by so I can get your info!

Summer School Day 2 - Primary Colors

MFT's Summer School Day 2 is to use primary colors.  Stephanie shared a video of her super cute card.

The layout of today's card is similar to yesterday's since I actually created the background for Day One's CAS card using the Stencil Mini Cloud Edges  but once I saw the vines with the clouds I started over and set the cloud base aside.   Tonight as I was looking at the Sending a Smile Stamp and die set that was still on my desk from the day before I remembered my cloud background and thought it might be fun to add the Wire BG to the clouds and use birds instead of the flowers.  That's how this came to be!
