Chip-Loving Bear Camping Card

 There’s just something magical about a night under the stars… especially when snacks are involved!

Today I’m sharing a handmade camping card featuring the cutest chip-loving bear in honor of National Chip & Dip Week. This playful outdoor scene came together using stamps from Pajama Crafter Stamps, and it might just be one of my favorite cozy night scenes yet.

For the background, I started by stamping the tree and tent from the Happy Camper stamp set. (Happy Camper also comes in a Die Bundle!) I colored the images and built a rich night sky by blending Prize Ribbon ink across the panel. To bring that sky to life, I added tiny stars with a white gel pen—such a simple detail, but it really creates that peaceful, tucked-away-in-nature feeling.

Next came the star of the show! I stamped, colored, and fussy cut the adorable bear enjoying his chips (because honestly… what’s camping without snacks?). I popped him up next to the tent for a little dimension and personality.

To finish the card, I added the sentiment:

“A bad day camping is still better than a good day working.”

And I have to say… my husband would completely agree with that! He loves backpacking and heads out in all kinds of weather. I think he’d happily trade places with this little bear for a quiet night under the stars.

One of my favorite things about this design is how easy it is to adapt. A lovely night sky technique works beautifully for so many themes—forest scenes, beach nights, even winter cards. It’s a great go-to background when you want something dramatic but still simple to create.

Card making is such a meaningful way to share creativity and send a little joy through the mail. I hope this cozy outdoor scene inspires you to create your own handmade nature card.

Beautiful Patterned Paper - Product Focus

This week, the IO Team is focusing on Patterned Paper. IO has some gorgeous paper packs! All of the paper packs are luxurious with a slight sheen!

This mushroom paper from the Forest Floor paper pack is so pretty; I wanted to feature as much of it as possible. The banner (Stitched Tag) is cut from the same paper pack. The background was cut with the Crazy Stitched Set. You will see me use this layer quite often in my cardmaking. I love the size, which allows a nice base border around it. The die is wider than most layering dies, which keeps it from warping! I love it! The sentiment is from the So Mush stamp set.  For the sentiments, I used the Oval Labels and Stitched Tag #5.  I shortened the banner from Stitched Tag #5 by placing one end back in the die.

A Trip Outside for Dare to Get Dirty Day 6 plus Giveaway

I am learning to make more than one background or sentiment panel at a time!  It sure saves time later on.  For this Country Tree card, I stamped it twice in different colors.  I love how it looks with two different colors.  When I originally stamped the background, I made a Fall one and a deep Spring green one, and then I placed them in my Unfinished Project Box for a later time. And today is that time!  All I had to do was place it on a card base, add Stay Strong, and a bit of twine!

This weekend is the Florapalooza VSN at Splitcoaststampers and I am hosting a challenge. VSN is open to all and it's perfect for the time we find ourselves in because it's all online, we never leave our house!  

My husband's birthday is in April so this is for him.  

I masked the gorgeous moon with the 3 1/2 in Blending Stencil and blended ink with LC Blender Brushes. (also sold in a bundle with a free stencil) Next, I added Watercolor Trees and Bushes. Lastly, I added something unexpected to my scene from the Witch Please set and popped them up using the coordinating dies.  I think these flying frogs are an absolute hoot!

 It's one of my favorite days of the month at Impression Obsession; It's Classic Stamp Day!  

I found an entire section of "sketch and chalk" images at Impression Obsession and I am a bit obsessed with them!   They look so pretty stamped with the sketchbook stamp as I featured a few weeks ago but they are also beautiful on their own.  For this card, I stamped the Sketched Twig on a previously created Cracked Pistachio Dioxide background.  The green bg is so soothing I decided to add one of the sentiments from the Faith and Love Cling Set.

Enchanted Forest

Brenda is our hostess for the Inspiration Challenge at SCS this week and she has chosen a cool Pinterest board to inspire us.  I found this pretty needle minder for the inspiration for my woodsy forest.

I used my Life Changing Blender Brushes to create a magical forest background in similar colors to the inspiration photo.  My forest is made from a one-piece forest die and I love the way it embosses the bark.  I changed the deer in the pin to this darling little reading bunny with coordinating die.  I colored the sweet bird in gray just like the inspiration and then I added a sentiment from Simply Wonderful.

Impression Obsession Fall & Winter Release with a Giveaway Day 3!

Wow, we have come to the last day of the release!  I hope you have been inspired by all the designer samples this week!  

 You can find a list of participants on the Impression Obsession Blog at 6am CT. I am a huge fan of black and white with just a bit of bright color.  I am not sure what it is that draws me to so much black and white but currently that's my thing!  For this fall card, I thought it would fun to show this lovely tree in its early fall stage.  Where the leaves receive the most light they have turned into full Fall mode.  We often see trees like this on our hikes.  A tree might be mostly green with just a pop of color along the branches that have broken away from the shade.  To finish off the card I used a sentiment from Fall in Love. 

Next, up is an encouragement card pairing Forest Mountains and Brightest Stars. I only inked up a small portion of the Forest Mountain stamp which is approximately 6".  

And lastly, I had a blast coloring the books for this very sleepy napping squirrel.  It made me chuckle to add this sentiment from the Chocolate Builder set.  I crossed out chocolate and added naps.

Happily Grateful with Red Rubber Designs

Hello, It's my turn to feature a project on the Red Rubber Designs blog!  I chose the Happily Grateful stamp set to create a mixed media project with lots of white space.  My "Mix" is a technique I read about on a card challenge that my friend, Robin hosted in the fall. While I was at it I used Susie's tip for creating backgrounds on full sheets of paper which will give me quite a few backgrounds for future projects!
