Hi there and happy Saturday to you! I hope you kept safe and warm this week! We finally had a typical week here with kids in school and after school activities attended. After a full week I am ready for the weekend so let the weekend activites begin with the new
Speedy Fox & Friends challenge! Our challenge this week is to add metal to our cards!
I had so much fun with this card! I started off coloring and fussy cutting the u mbrella. The tip top of the umbrella was stamped twice more, colored, cut and layered to create added dimension.
I stamped the full umbrella image a second time but this time on the white card stock panel for the card and then colored the handle with copics.
I am sure you have guessed that the butterflies are the "metal" I have added to my card but can you guess what they are made of?
To give the umbrella a 3D appearance I gently curved the umbrella with my fingers, added a foam dimensional pad on the inside and glued down the top and edges.
I wonder what ideas you thought up for my metalic butterflies? The answer is.......a soda can! I don't have any small butterfly dies but I would highly recommend using a die for this technique. I used a punch and had to perform surgery on my punch after each punch! I added a drop of TH alcohol reinker to each butterfly after punching out these little guys.
With this card I am playing along with SCS MMTPT291,
which is to "Bring something that reminds you of New York City". I googled "NYC China Town" and found the majority of images were red and gold however my heart was set
on a pink umbrella so I decided to keep my pink and add gold butterflies!
I hope you will stop on by
Speedy Fox & Friends blog and enter your project for a chance to win a prize. While you are there you can check out the fab creations from the rest of the design team!
Thanks for Looking!
