From the Heart for Old is New Day

Hello, today the Impression Obsession team is showcasing older stamps and dies in a new way!

This month's Old is New post is from the heart.  Since I have pulled out all the stops to share several cards, I will not keep you waiting!

First up you are on my Heart & Mind.  I randomly stamped the Brush Heart for the background.  I used the Stitched Tag and added the small tags from the Tags with Tags set.

Secondly, I have Blessings in blue.  To create the gorgeous background I added Distress Oxide inks to the Leather kaleidoscope background stamp and spritzed with water.

Next, I call this Savage Respect.  Each word was individually stamped to create this card.  The stamps are perfect for journaling as well as various other creative projects.  I added three dragonflies to finish this off.

Lastly, I made a card from the heart to work out some emotions.  The sweet girl is Dream Big and the sentiment is Stay Strong.

I hope you enjoyed viewing these projects showcasing stamps from last year!  Now don't forget to hop on over to the Impression Obsession Blog and check out what the rest of the team has created for OLD is NEW Day!

Dandelion Dreams in Watercolor

Hello!  It's Watercolor Wednesday and I am hosting this week.  I have chosen a fun tutorial from Whitehouse Art.

Full disclosure, I tried to follow Lisa's tutorial three times and just couldn't get the hang of the dandelion.  I think I was getting closer and would love to practice some more when I didn't have a time limit set for myself.  For this fourth try, I used a stamp in very light Fade Out ink for the outline of my dandelion.  The sentiment stamp is from Impression Obsession: Joy.

Sitting in the Dark - IO Team Favorites Hop & Giveaway

Welcome to the Impression Obsession Team Favorites Hop & Giveaway!

I always enjoy creating with Nola's Impression Obsession Stamps so today I am sharing two.  My daughter was home this weekend and I wish I had tucked this one into her bag.  My daughter is a positive person and tackles life head-on but now and then we have coffee and she shares the hard things with me.

I played on the word "dark" in the Sit with You sentiment and added a dark border with one of the Trims. The sweet image is A Friend.

Another Nola made my favorites list this month.

I took the Stitched Tag #6 and cut it in half so that I could extend it since it isn't quite as large as my sentiment/image strip.  The sentiment is On My Heart and the cute little bird is Mourning Dove.

So Little Time & a Sticky Mat Tip

Hello!  I am on the My Sweet Petunia Blog today featuring this card and a Sticky Mat Tip!  Head on over to the blog for the tip.

Today's card features the Acetate Smooshing Technique.  This is one of my favorite ways to color a background stamp.  First, stamp distress inks on acetate.  Next, spritz with water. Lastly, tap the inky acetate onto the cardstock.  This technique is a favorite as it gives a bit more control over where the ink lands!

Below, I have linked all the items I used today.  Make sure to check out the MISTI blog linked above for today's Tips & Tricks!

Hope

We are using a warm-up practice for this week's Watercolor Wednesday Challenge.  I added the word HOPE because it's my favorite word.  I am not sure about my angel though, he looks a little scary to me!

The HOPE sentiment is part of a 4-word stamp set that includes Faith, Love, and Peace: Faith and Love Cling Stamp

Hello!  Happy Valentine's Day to those who enjoy Valentine's Day.  My daughter has renamed the day to her Day of Snacks and celebrates with all of her girlfriends!  Today is also Theme Day at Impression Obsession and this month's theme is In Stitches.

I used the fun background stamp Diagonal Stitches and cut it up with the Quilt Blocks Die.  The sentiment is from Sew Awesome.  I finished off the project with items from the Pin Cushion and Trims Die Sets.

In the Pink with the IO Day 2 February Release Hop & Giveaway

Hello, welcome to day 2 of the February Release!  I hope you enjoyed the projects yesterday!

Today, I am featuring encouragement in pink! First up is this sweet image called Gotcha Covered.  I did a little paper piecing by stamping the Dress Pattern 2 on pink cardstock and then stamping the umbrella over the Dress Pattern.  Lastly, I added the Not Alone sentiment and gave the heart a little bit of the pattern treatment too!

Next up is the adorable Sock Kitty.  Don't faint, I fussy cut him! Haha! Not my favorite thing and especially not fun when your hand is raging from a fall but he looks pretty good, I think!  I stamped one of the new backgrounds, Tiny Polka Dots in the background.  Next, I added Get Well.  I am loving all the crafty dies and the medical dies this month!  I added the Stethoscope to the Sock Kitty.  The recipient will have to get well with all this cuteness happening!

Each day, February 1st & 2nd you can find a list of participants on the Impression Obsession Blog. We will be giving away THREE Impression Obsession $25 gift certificates for the event - so the more you comment through our Release Celebration the more chances to win!
All comments for each of the event days will be open until Tuesday, February 8th at 8pm CT All winners will be announced on Wednesday, February 9th on the Impression Obsession Blog.

February IO Release - Getting Crafty & a Giveaway

Hello and Happy February!

Welcome to Day 1 of the February IO Release Hop & Giveaway!  This month we crafty new dies and sentiments, background stamps, silhouette stamps, and much more!

I adore stamps and dies that depict my favorite creative pursuits!  This first card ticks my happy boxes!  Here are the featured items:

Crafty Friends Sayings

Next, I once again used cute dies to build a scene.  First, I stamped background stamps on the dresses and then I used the same inks and created a watery background. One thing I love about the Dress Pattern stamps is that it allows me to make my own patterned paper!  The small size of the patterns makes them ideal for use on small die cuts or images. The items used are listed below:
