Mostly White

Picket Fence Studios has a beautiful line of floral stamps including several large bouquet stamps sets. Today I am featuring one of the large florals, Ruffled Peony Bouquet along with a sentiment from Lily Bouquet.

This week, I happened upon the AAA CARDS #128 - Mostly White challenge.

Keeping the theme in mind, I simply heat embossed the image and sentiment with gold powder.   The image is so elegant in gold and I love the encouraging sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by tomorrow for a post from Lydia!

Christmas CAS

With Thanksgiving behind us now it's time to work on the final Christmas cards for 2018!
Once again this week, I am enjoying my new Christmas paper pack and a sentiment from North Pole by The Project Bin!

This was super simple to create.  Slice designer paper into two pieces, stamp sentiment and die cut with a circle die. Die cut larger circle and bow from glitter paper.  Die cut wreath and distress leaf tips.  Adhere the wreath/sentiment circle with craft foam to card base.

For the card design, I followed CAS(E) this sketch #298.

How are you doing with your Christmas card list?  Do you have them all created and addressed?  If so it's never too early to start on next year's list!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Sure to Cheer and a Wnner!

I hope you had a wonderful week.  Our week was filled with activities which included a college tour and serving our community.  My husband made most of our  Thanksgiving meal and it was delicious!   Now it's time to get back into a bit of a routine and I have a card for that!   For this week's Inspiration Challenge, Brenda has selected a site which sells exquisitely designed paper products.

The blue and white stripes of THIS napkin caught my eye.  I created my striped background by stamping Rough Around the Edges on the card base.  It's so much fun to create unique backgrounds!    The sentiment and sweet jar of flowers are from the Rustic Floral stamp set.  All the stamps featured today are from the Newest Release by Picket Fence Studios!

There is still time to take advantage of the great sale at Picket Fence Studios!

And the winner of a new Black Hybrid Ink Pad is.......

Cindy Holmes
Congratulations Cindy! Please comment with your snail mail address so I can send this ink pad on its way! (I will not publish your address)

Season's Greetings

Wow, Thanksgiving is just a few days away and that means Christmas is on its way. Since most of us have our Thanksgiving cards finished and mailed off at this late date, I decided to create a Christmas card to share with you.  I used the sketch from the November Fan Club Monthly Theme at Splitcoaststampers for my design.  The classic "Seasons Greetings" sentiment is from the North Pole stamp set by The Project Bin.

I really shouldn't have done it but I couldn't help myself.  This week I was in a craft store and they had their Christmas paper packs 50% off.  I fell in love with this stack and I think it looks like it was made for The Project Bin sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  For those of you that are celebrating Thanksgiving, I wish you a happy day filled with family and/or friends!

With this card, I am celebrating Splitcoaststameprs Featured Stamper: Michelle Wright!

Coffee Just Understands

I am so excited about this card.  I just love this coffee girl.  She reminds me of MY coffee girl!!  My girl doesn't wear glasses but everything else fits her!  She is tall, thin and her long hair curls especially when it's raining and she LOVES coffee!    My daughter is on the drama team at school and puts in very long hours when a show is being rehearsed or featured on stage. When I see her I am always full of questions. I want to know everything!  Unfortunately for me she looks at me and says, "I have been talking all day, just nope, no questions!".    When I saw Coffee Understands from Picket Fence Studios I couldn't wait to pair this sentiment with the cute coffee girl.

This week's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers is full of color and patterns. I found THIS photo which made me think of coffee rings.  I think the coffee rings in this set are so cute, I had fun stamping them randomly on the card base!

You have one last opportunity to leave a comment to be eligible to win a Black Hybrid Ink Pad!  Simply leave me a comment and tell me what is your favorite part of this stamp set? I will count all three days comments in order and then using random.org I will select the winner and Post it on Friday, November 23rd.  Good luck!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Need More Coffee and a Giveaway

Welcome back for more Picket Fence Studios Release goodies!  Today I am featuring the Need More Caffeine stamp set along with a sentiment from Coffee Understands Need More Caffeine is versatile in that it can be the star of the show or a background.  I chose to let it be the star for this card.

Our giveaway this month is Black Hybrid Ink so I thought it would be fun to share a sample.  What I love about Hybrid ink is that once the image is stamped, I can decide how I want to color it.  So often I have stamped an image in waterbased ink and then decided I would rather watercolor the image.

I placed the image in my MISTI and stamped twice for great coverage.  I then colored with Inktense pencils and water.  I wasn't going for perfect coloring on this just some quick color.

I thought you might like to know how well the Hybrid Ink worked so I made a quick experiment and stamped the coffee image on another piece of cardstock and colored a swatch with Copics. Perfect, no ink bleeding!

Here is a look at the entire November Release, click HERE to shop!

For a chance to win your very own Black Hybrid Ink Pad, just leave me a comment and let me know if you like coffee and how you take it!   I will include all of the entries in the drawing so make sure to stop by tomorrow for another release project.  The winner will be picked on 11/21/18 and announced on 11/22/18.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Autumn Colors

I am delighted to be a guest designer on the Impression Obsession team and for my first project, I am playing in the New Impression Obsession Challenge - Autumn Colors.

Head on over to the Impression Obsession Blog to view all the challenge samples from the Design Team!  You can also play along in the challenge and link up your project for a chance to win a $25.00 GC to the IO store!

To show off my Autumn Colors I chose D15145Autumn Bouquet and C1148 Happy Thanksgiving.

This sweet Autumn bouquet was fun to color with Copic Markers.  I added the Thanksgiving sentiment then layered it on diagonal striped designer paper.

I am also playing along with Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper Challenge.  Congratulations Crystal!

Picket Fence Studios Release Day & Giveaway!

It's release day at Picket Fence Studios and wow, do we have gorgeous things to share with you today, I also have a giveaway!  First, up is the oh so gorgeous, Jill Girl. I love the cozy red sweater warmer on Jill's cup, I have one just like it IRL!  Jill reminds me of my daughter so I went with a sentiment from the beautiful Ruffled Peony Bouquet stamp set.  With this card, I am playing along with the Color Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

Next up we are headed underwater with the new set, A Bottomless Sea.  Using the LC Blender Brushes I inked up my sea.  I used the largest brush and tapped the brush into the ink.  Holding the brush head I pressed down and inked the layer.  Pushing down on the brush makes it quick and easy to color large spaces. For the next step, I used a sunray stencil and wiped the rays with a baby wipe then I stamped the bubbles from the Bottomless Sea set.

It's been a while since I created a shaker card but the sea was begging for shaker magic so I filled the sea with Blue Hawaiin sequins.  To finish off the card I used this encouraging sentiment which is included in A Bottomless Sea stamp set.

For my last card, I stamped Rough around the Edges on the card base.  I love being able to create backgrounds in colors of my own choosing! The stripes create a wonderful background for a large sentiment like Happy Happy Happy Birthday

It's so exciting to hang around Picket Fence Studios, you never know what surprises they will reveal next! The newest product in the line up is Black Hybrid Ink which can be used with alcohol markers and watercolor mediums, isn't that cool?  This month's Picket Fence Studios release is full of sweet things including this adorable I love you Momma and Coffee Understands. You can view all the new goodies HERE.

And now for giveaway details, I get to give away a Black Hybrid Ink Pad to one lucky winner.  All you have to do to be eligible is leave me a comment telling me whether you like to create your own backgrounds AND/OR whether you like to create shaker cards.  You will have another opportunity on Friday and Saturday to leave a comment on blog posts with more of the latest Picket Fence releases.  That means you will have up to three entries!   I will post the winner on Black Friday 11/23!

Fall Blessings

Today I am once again featuring the beautiful Eat Pie stamp set by The Project Bin.  I started with the same paper as last week but my pumpkin refused to shine so I switched to watercolor paper and achieved a completely different look from last week. Just as I did last week, I used the same pumpkin stamp and watercolored with Derwent Inktense Ink Pencils.  I find it fascinating how every watercolor session is unique!  For the sentiment, I masked off the leaf then stamped it back in with a very light distress ink.  Then using the same colors as the pumpkin I watercolored the leaf.  Using a very fine paintbrush I added back the leaf outline.

Unbiological Sister

I am hosting the Inspiration Challenge at SCS this week.  A few weeks ago my husband and I decided to visit a little town near us that we have never visited.  It's rather famous now as a popular tv show was and I believe still is being filmed in the area.  We wandered into a little boutique which carried the cutest metal ornaments.  I wanted to buy Christmas presents right then and there.  When it was my turn to come up with a site to inspire our weekly Inspiration Challenge I decided to look up the ornaments and see if I could find an online store that carried them.  My inspiration ornament is BFF

I used the adorable girls from the I am a Hugger stamp set by Picket Fence Studios.  I color coordinated these best friends in magenta and dandelion and added a sentiment from Throw on a Crown also by Picket Fence Studios. This sentiment is just right for friends that are more like sisters!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Bright and Cheerful

Since I live in a very sunshiny state I appreciate every overcast day.  I know I am probably a bit weird for my fondness of a gloomy day.  I have even passed the appreciation for rainy and overcast days to my daughter!  On gloomy days I like nothing better than to create bright and cheerful cards.  After a peek at this card, I think you can probably guess what our weather has been like this week!

I randomly stamped the large flowers from the Simply Wonderful stamp set (which really is simply wonderful) in Lilac Posies ink and the smaller flowers in Dandelion ink.    Then I die cut the layer and popped it up on craft foam.  The sentiment is from Ways to Say Get Well stamp set which includes twelve encouraging sentiments.

To finish off the project I created a bit of art on an envelope with the large flower from the Simply Wonderful stamp set and a greeting from Crafty Mail.

I am playing along with the Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper challenge.  Nicole has a gorgeous gallery!  Congrats Nicole, I hope you have a wonderful week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you have wonderfully crafty weekend no matter what the weather!
