God Wrote Your Love Story – Handmade Anniversary Card with Lavender Wedding Inspiration
There’s something especially meaningful about creating a handmade card that reflects a genuine love story—one you’ve had the joy of witnessing from the very beginning.
This week, my daughter and son-in-law are celebrating their 3rd anniversary, and I couldn’t wait to create something just for them using the Bound by Love stamp set from Pajama Crafter Stamps. As I sat down to design, my thoughts drifted back to their wedding day… the soft lavender accents, the joy in their smiles, and yes, my son-in-law looking especially sharp in his lavender suit. They truly made the sweetest bride and groom.
We don’t get to see them nearly as often as we’d like because of the distance, but that makes every visit feel even more special. Watching their love story continue to unfold has been such a gift.
For this card, I wanted every detail to echo their wedding day. I started with a lavender card base, setting the tone right from the beginning. I layered a panel measuring 3 7/8" x 5 1/2" and stamped the bride and groom image toward the bottom, grounding the design.
Coloring was where the magic really happened. I added subtle purple highlights first, then layered in deeper tones to bring dimension and life to the hair and faces. It created such a romantic effect—perfect for an anniversary card inspired by their wedding colors. I think my daughter will like how I colored her hair!
To add a delicate, lacy touch, I used the Stitched Scalloped Border Die (terrific price while supplies last!) to create a lavender panel and paired it with a shorter white layer. This detail at the top brings in that classic wedding elegance that I always love.
Finally, I added the sentiment: “God wrote your love story beautifully.” It felt like the perfect finishing touch—simple, meaningful, and true.
