Beary Warm Wishes

Hello!  Oh, my December 1st is here.  That means it's time for a new SCS Fan Club Christmas Challenge!  I had a lot of fun with this.  I received a gorgeous Halloween card full of sparkle and it has been sitting on my desk ever since.  In the morning the glittery paper catches the light and sparkles like it has caught fire.  Looking at the card today inspired me to add sparkle to my card.  I forgot I wanted to add some bling too.  Ah, well, next time!

Fall Thankfulness plus an Early Black Friday Special!

Hello, and Happy Thanksgiving to those of you residing in the US!

 I am over on the MISTI BLOG today sharing these pretty fall cards.   Once I had placed the stamp on the MISTI, I decided to make multiples!  I stamped one version on cardstock and one on watercolor paper for two very different looks.

I added some pretty plaid paper in the background. I stamped All About Fall and colored it with Copic markers.  To finish off the project I used 3 of the fun banners from the Small Tags Die Set. Sequins finish off this version of the card.

 To create the background for this next card, I randomly added water and paint.  Next, I sprinkled the wet paper with salt.  I let the salt dry overnight and then I stamped the image and painted it.

  The MISTI makes it quick and easy to stamp multiples but I also find it invaluable when stamping on textured watercolor paper!  The All About Fall sentiment stamp has a lot of solid lines that require repeat stamping on textured paper.  The MISTI to the rescue!  

My idea of a fun Black Friday is shopping early, at home with my computer! A Road in Winter

Hello!  

It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new Watercolor Wednesday Challenge.  This week we are taking inspiration from the Snowy Landscape video by Karen Rice.  

I will admit that I was pretty freaked out by this challenge.  I am beginning to realize what I really enjoy painting and what scares me silly.  Trees scare me silly apparently.  I was also a bit rushed since it's been hectic over the past week or so.  Our daughter came home today and right off needed to go get her medicine and do a little shopping so off we went!  In the end, I am not too unhappy with the final result.  I have decided to put a sentiment on the inside.

I used this paper for the project but it's not 100% cotton so does not have some of the properties that are found in 100% Cotton. 

This is a beautiful paper I like to use as often as I can.

November IO Die Cut Day

Hello!  It's Die Cut Day today at Impression Obsession!  I really enjoy creating projects with dies so this was a lot of fun.  

This week's CAS Challenge is Tags so I am going to add my projects to the challenge.  One thing that really tickled me was how I was able to achieve an enamelware look to my bread pan on the tag.

My next project is a gift card holder featuring the Large Baked Bread Die set.  I tucked a gift card into the large bread pan instead of a loaf of bread.  This will go to my son so he can grab himself a quick lunch as works near a Panera.  He makes his lunch most of the time but this is a little treat.

It's the perfect time to say Thank You!  It's my turn to host the Free 4 All Challenge and our theme is Thank You cards or Thanksgiving cards. I went with a thank you card.  

I used the beautiful Desert Silhouette Duo stamp.  I love that this is a two-piece set.  I stamped off the background stamp once to give the lighter appearance.  I think the slim script sentiments are so pretty and add a bit of elegance to a slimline card.

A Luna Moth for Watercolor Wednesday

Hello!  It's Watercolor Wednesday and I am the host.  This week, I have chosen the Luna Moth as our subject!  I know, it's not very holiday-ish!  I am my own brand of weird.  I love to create Christmas cards all year long ... until Nov/Dec and then I want to create very bright things, like butterflies and Fuschia flowers!  We would love it if you joined us, simply click the link above and paint along with us!

Since I have this gorgeous Luna Moth stamp, I decided to use it instead of struggling along with my drawing skills.  I kept the background simple and added the sentiment, Beautiful.  To finish off the project I add three sequins for a bit of sparkle.

I love pretty mugs of tea or coffee and I also enjoy the theme for cardmaking!   I stamped the Vine Circle on cardstock and then used the Big Mug Die to cut it out.  The sentiment is from Coffee Mug Sayings and lastly, I cut a background from the Crazy Stitched Set.  

I love a CAS card and one of my favorite things to do is to color just part of an image.  I took one of Lindsay's journaling stamps, Look Inside, and added the
Daisy.
