So sorry

Hello, there!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a brand new sketch at Splitcoaststampers!  Carey created our lovely SC660 sketch.  I will confess that I made a little mistake so the sketch is flipped! I had the sketch up on my computer screen the entire time I was creating but it wasn't until the end of the night that I looked at the card and realized I had the triangles flipped!  A fun bonus when playing along with a Splitcoaststampers challenge is that the challenges don't expire AND they are meant to inspire which means we don't have to follow them to the letter or in my case  EXACT placement!

For today's card, I used Sweet N Sassy Stamps: New Creature, Lovely Lotus, and Sympathy Innies.  I splattered watery ink onto the sentiment layer.  The colors on this card was inspired by the Color Challenge at Splitcoaststampers, CC650. The butterfly is colored with Chameleon Color Tones Markers and Color Tops.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you will head on over to Splitcoaststampers and join us!

National Black Cat, Pink Fall Day

Did you know that yesterday was National Black Cat, Pink Fall Day???  No? Perhaps you missed it since it was an occurrence for those of us playing along with the Free For All challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  Our challenge was to create our very own National Day! The challenges at Splitcoaststampers do not expire, so hop on over and create your own National Day for the F4A392 challenge!

For my entry, I used the fabulous new fall set from The Project Bin called New Leaf.  I stamped Oxide inks on acetate and spritzed with water then laid the watery ink onto the cardstock.  I used lots of pink as that is my favorite color and part of my National day!  After the ink dried, I stamped the cute little tree branch and colored in the leaves for a total silhouette look.

I think this tree branch is so cute and it can be flipped so that can be stamped either on the left side or the right side of the card.  See last week's Woo to the Hoo card to compare.

This bold sentiment easily takes center stage with its large font.  It makes it on my National Day card because I really love Fall most of all!  GA has a long fall with moderate temps and when I am lucky, lots of rain!  Last of all but most certainly not least, I added two die cut black cats.  My National Day would be incomplete without a cat or two.

I would love to know, if you had time to play along with the F4A392 challenge, what would your day be called?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Side Effect of Being Awesome!

Hello, it's Wednesday today and that means it's time to play with a new sketch at Splitcoaststampers!  Allison created this lovely sketch for us this week.  I hope you will head on over to SC659 and join us this week!

I just love this sentiment and I think it looks so cute paired with this sweet little owl from Unity Stamp Co - Strange Bird.  My daughter just happened to bring up this weekend that in Elementary school she was thought of as weird. What?   I don't even think she is quirky!  She has such an even temperament but I guess if someone wants to call her weird that's ok since it's a side effect of AWESOME, which she most definitely is!!  Here is to those of us who are a little weird!!! It would be pretty boring if we were all the same!!!

I am also playing along with Unity's FB Inspiration challenge - A Krafty Base and twine.

Thanks for stopping by, now go be awesome!!!

Woo to the Hoo!

Hello!  Today I am featuring this cute little guy included in the New Leaf stamp set by The Project Bin!  I think this owl is adorable!  I love the branch as well.  It was designed so well that it can be flipped around and used on the left side of the cardstock or the right.  The leaves are actually pretty little things with lines but for my project, I colored them in for a solid silhouette look.

I masked off the moon, sponged Seedless Preserve and Broken China distress inks, then layered with Nautical Blue Memento ink.  I stamped then fussy cut the owl and popped him up on the branch. I finished off the card with this fun sentiment.  Don't you just love that sentiment!  What a hoot!!

It's been another wild week at my house so I stayed up late and found inspiration from Audrie's IC611 challenge at SCS.  This week Audrie chose the FitBit blog.  Goodness, I have been missing out on a wealth of inspiration.  There is a really nice section on recipes and that's where I found a beautiful inspiration photo of Blueberry Smoothie Pops

I will also be joining along with this month's theme "great lengths" SCS with my tall card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and woo to the hoo!!!

A Bowl Full

Happy Wednesday!!!  When we get to Wednesday I always have two thoughts, how did we get to the middle of the week already and whoa, it's almost the weekend!   I have another reason to like Wednesdays, for the next few months, I am on the sketch challenge team as a guest designer!

This week's SC658 challenge was created by Carey.  I love the top layer as it allows plenty of space for a stamped image!

I used the adorable Bowl Full of Comfort kit from Unity Stamp Co.  Unity has a sale going on all the time so you can purchase beautiful kits at a great price!  I purchased this one during one of their sales and have been eager to color it!  The top layer of the sketch this week is a perfect size for these cute bowls.  The embossed solid layer was originally supposed to be a designer paper layer but I felt it took the attention away from the bowls so back in the stack it went and I opted for a solid layer instead.

I am also playing along with the Simon Says Challenge to Add a Sentiment.

Most of All

Happy weekend!!!
I found myself a little behind this week as I've been a little under the weather along with juggling an all new routine for August!   First thing this morning I checked out the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers and found THIS super fun photo for wonderful inspiration.

I took an embossing folder and inked it up with Oxide inks in, Worn Lipstick, Broken China and Spiced Marmalade, spritzed it with water then added paper and closed the folder.  This technique does not require a press such as a die cut machine, you simply press it closed, rub it with your fingers, open it up and take out the paper!

I used the New Leaf stamp set from The Project Bin for my sentiment.  This set is great for fall, with six great sentiments and four fun images! I love this bold sentiment with the fun fonts and the little leaves are a separate stamp included int he set which can be used in dozens of ways!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!!

Every Road

Wow, our summer has been anything but ordinary this year!  Our college student came home and took on two jobs so we didn't' see him very much.  Our daughter received a part in a S.T.A.R. production of Hairspray and rehearsed all summer so we didn't see her a lot either! The start of school began last week for our high school student and tomorrow the summer officially ends as we help our college student get situated in an apartment!

With all the hustle and bustle of last minute activities last week I missed out on creating a blog post for a card that I created for Janine's Dare to get Dirty challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  Dare to get Dirty is a fun week for Fan Club members which includes prizes for completing art challenges!

The challenges are top secret for Fan Club members only so I can't tell you the details of Janine's challenge but I can tell you about my card!

My stamp collection didn't include a stamp I wanted to use for Janine's sweet challenge so I thought out of the box a bit and pulled up a photo I took in mid-July then edited it with a sketch app on my phone.

The Dare to get Dirty challenges are done for this year but there is still time to upload projects so I encourage you to check them out!

A Cat Fan

Happy weekend to you!!
My daughter started back to school yesterday and I needed something to cheer me up!  Kitties always do the trick so I picked up my Feline Good stamps set from The Project Bin and played along with a challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

There are two cats included in the Feline Good stamp set along with coordinating dies.  I will confess, I am not great at fussy cutting so a coordinating die is my friend! I love this sentiment, purrfect for a fan of cats or a cat fan!  :)

I hope you have the chance to get inky this weekend!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Just Because

Hello, friends! I am excited to be able to share that I have been invited to be a guest designer for the Sketch Challenge at Splitcoaststampers for the next term.  I am so excited to be a part of this talented team!

I chose an older stamp set from Simon Says Stamp - Flower Friend to feature for the SC656 challenge.  I actually won this kit way back in March of 2013!  I love the endless combinations that can be created with this sweet flower set.

I had fun with the inky color combinations from Clearsnap ColorBox: Aqua, Coal, Jelly and Limon!!!

With this card, I am also playing along with the Dare to Get Dirty challenges at SCS.  Dare to get Dirty is a fun week to celebrate the Fan Club Members.  The week is filled with daily challenges and a chance to win prizes! For more details click HERE!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
