March Get Well "Blogging with Friends"

I have 2 posts today.  To see my Easter Post please scroll up.

Hi!  Today is the last day of the month so that means it is time for "Blogging with Friends" monthly challenge where a group of us challenge each other to create card(s) with a theme and then go visiting to see what we've all come up with!  This month's theme is.
"Get Well" cards  and it's brought to us by Queenbea.

I am very inspired by my friend Brenda (tessaduck) on SCS with the way she masks and stamps but I am afraid I fell FAR short on this one!  It just didn't turn out the way I had planned and unfortunately time did not allow me to make another so here it is!

On Friday I put aside my "to do" list to play in the SCS challenge Mix-ability.  It's a new challenge and I have been wanting to try it ever since it started.  Instead of cleaning house, or creating cards for deadlines I played SCS "MIX9 use metal" Challenge.

My background behind the rounded frame is aluminum foil inked with Tim Holtz Alcohol Reinkers.  I am still so new to the craft that I don't know how some things work so I wasn't sure that alcohol ink would dry on foil so knowing I didn't have much time in the day to play,  I quickly inked up some foil before taking my kids to school so if it dried it would be dry by the time I got home.  Just as I left I added a drop of yellow and didn't have time to use a brush to blend it.  When I came home....a surprise!  A Yellow circle that works quite nicely as a sun!

Dina Kowal has a great video out showing how to make beautiful art with foil.  I didn't have time to follow all of it but I did use it to make my "chip board" bird!  Psssstt...it's made from a cereal box!!!

Here is what I came up with

Speedy Fox & Friends 153 - The Letter A

Hi!   I hope you have had a great week!  It's Saturday and that means Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge.  This week our projects are supposed to have an image that begins with the letter "A" or a sentiment with the letter "A".  For all the juicy details and to see what my teammates came up with please join us  HERE .

I searched through my stamp sets and I decided I wanted to use the APPLE stamp from "Lesson Learned".   I gave the apple a bit of a twist with some fun patterned paper!

I used  CAS(E) the sketch #21 for this card and changed it up just a bit.  Instead of a square I just placed the apple and stamped the sentiment below it.

This is the inside!  I like the inside so much, I think I need to CASE myself and use it as a FRONT!!!  LOL
Thanks for looking and enjoy a wonderful weekend!

I entered this card with CAS(E) this sketch! .

The stamp sets I used are:

Lesson Learned
For the sentiment I used "Welcome Poppies"
Welcome Poppies

Supplies used: Stamp - MFP a HC - Lesson Learned and Welcome Poppies. Paper - MFP 140lb Premium White, MME The Sweetest Thing.  Acces: MFT - Fishtail Flags, Botanical Beauty

Speedy Fox & Friends 152 - Bunnies or Easter

Happy Saturday everyone!  I hope you have a fun weekend planned and maybe a little time for stamping?  My DH and I have the house to ourselves this weekend as our kids have gone on a church retreat.  It's quiet around here.....too quiet!  :)

Saturday means Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge so let's get to it!  Our challenge this week it to create a card with Bunnies or Easter.  For my card I chose to use both!  To find out more about the challenge and to see some lovely inspiration join us HERE.

I went searching for a sketch to use and hopped on over to our MFP "Sketch with a Twist challenge".  Every Tuesday we have a new sketch and it's not too late to join in this week!  You can find it on the homepage at Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps under: Tuesdays Sketch with a Twist  or on MFP Speedy TV .

I used the cute mini stamp set called: "Easter Scene" to create an Easter card.  My niece in Louisiana loves bunnies so I think I will be sending this to her.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend!

Stamp set to be given away to one lucky challenge participant:

Bring on the Sun
I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp - Easter/Spring

Supplies used in the creating of this card: Paper: MFP 140lb Premium White, Authentique - Essentials   Collection and CS from stash.  Acces: Die-Namics Double Scallop and a Michaels flower sticker

Welcome to the last day of the hop!  I hope you have been inspired this week!  Today we are showcasing "Seed Packets".   This set has endless possibilities!  I decided to go with a little 3D project and a mini card!

I used the background stamp from "Cracked Hello" to create this fun texture on the basket and card.

Here is a close up of the seed packet.  I think it turned out so cute!  I popped up the radish greenery away from the card as well as the banner.  The radishes are just so fun to color and I must give credit to Lois for this, I saw her wonderful radishes and colored mine similarly.

If you spend any time at all around me you notice I have a bit of a passion for paper crafting.  One of the things I love is the freedom to change things up a bit.  For this card I left the standard size behind and made a small card that is just slightly larger than the seed packet to add emphasis to the packet.   The "Love" sentiment stamped on the banner is from the "LOVE LOVE LOVE" set.

Thanks so much for taking a little time out of your week and spending it with me!  I have had a lot of fun this week and I hope you did too!  Don't forget to check out all the beautiful inspiration my teammates have created for you and leave a comment for your chance to win today's stamp set!

Tomorrow is a brand new Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge so if you have a moment, stop on by and play along!

I am going to enter this in Simon Says Stamp Blog Challenge - Easter/Spring (I think "seed" packets count) .

Welcome to day three of the hop!   We are sharing "Glad Glads" today.  Warning, I have several photos to share today!  I created two very different looks using the exact shades of ink for both cards.  Both cards were painted with alcohol inks.  When I finished and had the panels side by side, I didn't think either of them turned out.  I wasn't giving up, though with a little bit of CS for the first one and some embellishment on the second a couple of cards were born!

Inside:

The wood grain DP has some turquoise in it so I picked that up with CS bases.

The butterfly is paper pieced and flies away from the card:

Welcome to day two of the hop!   We are sharing "Spring Things" today.  I have several photos to share with you.

On the front I added clouds from last month's set "Rain Clouds".  I measured how wide the fence is and cut a piece of card stock double the amount of the fence.  I scored the card stock in the middle, folded it and stamped the fence so I had a mini card.  I cut around the fence on the front and just cut straight across on the back which you can see when you scroll down.  I love the butterflies in this set and check out the caterpillar at the corner of the fence!

The fence opening:

Happy Spring!

Inside the card:

For this card I chose to give the Tulips all of the attention!

A simple inside: In reality the inside red is the same shade as the outside.

Hi!  Welcome to day one of the hop!   We are sharing "Garden Bunny" today.

I have had a red passion going on the past few days so I decked out my bunny in red!

A little close up look of the paper piercing!  I wanted the carrot tops to puff out away from the face a bit and the carrots to dangle away so I glued them down and curled the edges just a bit.

Mark's Finest Paper & Stamps a HC - March Special Features

Hi! Welcome to Release week at Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps a HC!  I will be here all week sharing the new stamp sets for March!  Today we are featuring  "News From the Woods" and the mini set "Corn Ears".  Hope to see you back here for the blog hop that starts tomorrow!

I made the first two cards with my kids in mind.  They just took end of 9 weeks exams so on report card day I plan to give them each a card regardless of their grades to let them know I am proud of them!!!

This one is for my Son.

When I asked my daughter what colors she liked she said, "neon orange and green and remember I don't like girly stuff.  Well, I don't think this is overly girly but it's not exactly neon colors either!

The second set to showcase today is "News From the Woods".  I decided to create little matchbook type cards with a coloring sheet inside.

Opened: I stamped the owl and bear from the set and added ivy from the "Ivy and Blossoms" set.

The sheets are not attached so that the recipient can pull them out and color them! (I have a couple of  girls in mind for these)

On the backside of the sheets I added sticky photo squares and left the backing on.  This way the recipient can attach them like a sticker if she wants to.  (I don't have a sticker machine but this will work just fine!)
Thanks for looking and have a great week!

Supplies for A-maize-ing cards: Paper MME: Lost & Found 2 Rosy, Creative Imaginations Orchard Harvest.  Acces: Spellbinders Lacey Circles, Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Circles, Die-Namics: Star Stax, Fishtail Flags
