Comfort in Green – Handmade Sympathy Card with Pajama Crafter Stamps

Hello everyone, and happy St. Patrick’s Day! Today I’m sharing a soothing handmade sympathy card featuring the beautiful leafy wreath from the In Our Hearts Always stamp set by Pajama Crafter Stamps.

With St. Patrick’s Day here, green naturally feels like the perfect color for card-making. While today’s project is a handmade sympathy card, the soft green palette makes it especially fitting for this time of year when everything feels fresh, hopeful, and new.

This partial wreath design is pure elegance and one of my favorite images from the set. This timeless stamp set includes three meaningful sentiments and delicate dragonflies that make lovely finishing touches for sympathy or thinking-of-you cards.

The Process

To begin, I die-cut a background layer in a bright yellow-green. This fresh color gives the card a hopeful, uplifting tone while still keeping the design soft and comforting.

Next, I die-cut another panel and stamped the partial wreath vine so the opening curves toward the lower right side of the card. This orientation leaves a natural space for the sentiment while allowing the leafy design to frame the card beautifully.

I colored each leaf with markers, blending from light yellow-green to deeper greens to add dimension and movement to the foliage.

For embellishment, I stamped one large dragonfly beneath the vine and added two smaller dragonflies near the top of the design. These delicate details bring a light and graceful feeling to the card.

The sentiment, “Wishing You Comfort,” was stamped on an oval die-cut and placed toward the lower right side of the card, where it nestles naturally into the curve of the wreath.

To complete the design, I added three green sequins for a subtle touch of sparkle.

A Versatile Card-making Design

This is just one idea for creating a handmade sympathy card with Pajama Crafter Stamps. The elegant vine works beautifully for many occasions, and you can easily adapt this design using your favorite stamps, patterned papers, and coloring techniques.

With Sympathy

This week, the F4All Challenge theme is "Anything Goes." I chose an easy challenge since this is such a hectic time of year. Sadly, I need a sympathy card. Despite the sadness behind the task, it allowed me to explore a new creative tool: the BetterPress system, which a dear friend gifted me for my birthday.

The Betterpress impression adds rich color and a touchable impression with just one pass through a die-cutting machine!

 I chose a simple yet elegant design that reflects warmth and thoughtfulness. The crisp lines and textured feel of the letterpress added depth to the message I wish to share.

I hope this card brings a small sense of solace to the recipient.

I Am So Sorry

Hello!  It's time for another Old is New Day at Impression Obsession. This time, I have chosen to feature the Pixel Daisy.  It debuted earlier this year so it's not all that old but it's not on the New Release list so it qualifies.  :)  The sentiment is from Card Sentiments, a stamp set I reach for over and over. I stamped the daisy in pink and gray ink and then scored the background and added little nails with a stylus.  This technique was shown to us by Lydia, but she used an embossing folder which gives a wonderful effect.  I fell in love with the technique and I have been trying to use it in different ways ever since!  

 I am also participating in Art Nudge #37.  Inspired by the chair I made a white and gray weathered-wood background. I focused on the super pretty pink flowers on the right for my pop of color.  You know I would zero in on the pink!  :)
