Unexpected

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

This weekend is the Florapalooza VSN at Splitcoaststampers and I am hosting a challenge. VSN is open to all and it's perfect for the time we find ourselves in because it's all online, we never leave our house!

My husband's birthday is in April so this is for him.

I masked the gorgeous moon with the 3 1/2 in Blending Stencil and blended ink with LC Blender Brushes. (also sold in a bundle with a free stencil) Next, I added Watercolor Trees and Bushes. Lastly, I added something unexpected to my scene from the Witch Please set and popped them up using the coordinating dies.  I think these flying frogs are an absolute hoot!

Thanks so much for looking!  I hope you are able to find a bit of peace today and maybe even some crafty time!

Everything Happy

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

There is always so much happening at Splitcoaststampers!  Virtual Stamp Night started Friday at 4pm and continues on Saturday beginning at 4pm.  We are safely distanced in our home but we come together online to share our projects and it's all free!  Since it's Saturday it's also time for a new Inspiration Challenge so I am combining challenges with this card.

I am participating in Jen's VSN - Friendship Garden

I stamped the background with the beautiful Floral Hearts Background stamp then I colored just the hearts and the little stemmed flowers.  The sentiment is Everything Happy and I think it's just right for Jen's friendship theme.

Again, I wish to thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you have a crafty weekend!

Virtual Stamp Night - Roses

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

It's time for the Splitcoaststampers Spring Virtual Stamp Night (otherwise known as VSN).  I am participating in Melody's FLORA challenge.  I hope to participate in several more but it's not as quiet around here as I thought it was going to be when I first anticipated taking part in the Spring VSN!

Melody's Challenge is to use the letters FLORA
F - Floral Card
L - Leaves, Layers
O - Opaque Embossing Powder
R - Roses
A - Azure Roses, Agua Coloring (watercolor)

The beautiful roses are Picket Fence Studios Rosa Eden Roses.  These days most of my emails and online comments end with something to the effect of "sending healthy wishes" so this sentiment from the Ways to Say Get Well set is just right.

Splitcoaststampers is an online crafting community open to everyone so I hope you will join us for the VSN!

Thanks for stopping by!

Look Up!

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

Hello!   I am over at the Picket Fence Studios Blog today with a fun graphic style card.  Picket Fence Studios has a wide variety of stamps and dies so that you can create something new and unique for every personality type in your life! With more and more of us currently sheltering in place, there has never been a better time to send out homemade happy mail.  Here is a little peek at today's card and you can view the entire card HERE.

I am also entering this in the Free 4 All Challenge - Look Up at SCS.

For this card, I die cut the Word Bubbles from an alcohol background then I created a shadow from black cardstock.  The sentiment is from Early Tulips Bouquet.  Lastly, I adore the birds from the Chirp, Chirp set so I added one! (Chirp Chirp also comes in a bundled set)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Love, hugs, and wishes for your good health.

In My Thoughts

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

It's time for a new Art Nudge.  The nudge is an art prompt for all artists, everyone is invited to join in and share their art. I was inspired by the roses.  I really planned on basically having a soft coral bouquet but I accidentally picked up the wrong watercolor pencil.  Maybe it was meant to be. :)

I heat embossed A Bride's Bouquet in gold and watercolored with Inktense Pencils.  The sentiment is from Early Tulips Bouquet which is another amazing floral set!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I am thinking of you!

IO Old is New - One Day

Sometimes older stamps are forgotten as we build our stamp collections. So today the Impression Obsession team is featuring older stamps. I think the Pottery stamp is exquisite, it just speaks to me.  I paired the pottery with the One Day sentiment.  Such a good reminder that this too shall pass!

Stop by the Impression Obsession Blog for a list of designers featuring Old is New designs.

Happy Every Day and a Discount Code!

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

I have a bizarre phobia of mailing things out.  I wonder if there is a name for that?  It's not fear of the post office and it's not the fear of the cost of postage that keeps me from mailing things out.  It's the fear of not having the right thing to give.  Yep, that's it.  I always want to send the perfect gift but rarely can I find just the right thing.  The card sits at my entry languishing for days and sometimes several weeks while I try to come up with something wonderful to add to the card, hence my love for this sentiment!  Happy Every Day means I am no longer late for that birthday because yay, we can celebrate the every day!  :)  And now you know that if you receive a very late card from me, it's not because I don't care but rather I have been hoping to add a little something extra.

This week's Featured Stamper at SCS is the uber-talented Sheri Gilson!  She is amazing.

For my card, I used the incredibly gorgeous Floral Spray Background Stamp and Happy Every Day.

Since so many things have been canceled over the past few weeks several paper crafting vendors have gotten together for a virtual show!  Use code TOGETHER and get 25% off at Impression Obsession!

He is With You

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

I hope this Saturday finds you well!

Happy or sad I try to create a little something almost every day and for the most part, I pour my feelings into the art I create. The events of the past few weeks have been scary and sad.  When my mind wanders to scary places I remind myself I am not alone (Matt. 28:20).  Here is what I created to encourage myself and I hope it encourages you too!

First I made a mix from:
 Paper Glaze - Ocean Poppy
Paper Glaze - Cornflower Blue
Paper Glaze - Succulent Green
Paper Glaze - Snowdrop White

Next, I used a palette knife to add just the Ocean Poppy on the lower portion of the Mermaid Scales Stencil.  Next, I mixed in Succulent Green and Cornflower Blue with Ocean Poppy and added it to the stencil.  Finally, at the top of the stencil, I used all four Glazes.   IRL the shimmer and shine are gorgeous!

I colored two of the underwater plants from Things on the Sea Floor
and then die cut them with the Things on the Sea Floor Coordinating Die.  Lastly, I added have faith from Swim in the Sea and a sentiment from the super sweet Every Good and Perfect Gift set.

Bonus!  Bonus!  Right now Picket Fence Studios is offering a free stencil with orders over $25.00.

Since many of us have extra time on our hands why not enjoy a crafty challenge?  Splitcoaststampers has new creative challenges every day!  Saturday's challenge is the Inspiration Challenge and we are visiting Ellen Hutson this week.

Impression Obsession Challenge - Coffee is Back on the Menu!

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

So,  first off since we are all home this week, we are watching Lord of the Rings.  I believe it's in the third movie that an orc says, "looks like meat is back on the menu boys".  When I was thinking of titles for this post that line was ringing in my ears!  Coffee is back on the menu at my house because my daughter is back home!  When she left for college I started drinking tea because I just love cream and sugar in my coffee.  Since I am trying to cut back on cream and sugar it just seemed like a good idea to switch to tea.  So now that you know my daughter and I are comforting one another with coffee let's talk about this coffee card!

The new Impression Obsession Challenge is "Pour One On" so I chose coffee!  I am featuring the beautiful Coffee Argyle Background stamp and this fun Morning Coffee stamp.  Just for fun, I added this cute little coffee bean.

Now it's your turn! We can't wait to see what you create for the new challenge.  All of the challenge details can be found on the Impression Obsession Blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Not Alone

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

Hi!  It's Tuesday night and that means it's time for a new Art Nudge Prompt on FaceBook!  Jeanne has given us a beautiful photo to inspire us.  It caused me to hunt through my gazillion paper packs to find denim paper and I found just the right one!  I added flowers from the Stitched Flower Bouquet die set. Next, I chose the Deckled Tag because I just love those edges! Lastly, I chose This Story sentiment to encourage us!  Maybe someone needs to hear this right now.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  You are in my thoughts this week!

Keeping it Light

The CAS Challenge at SCS this is week is Bunnies or Chicks.  Therefore, I am keeping it light with bright chicks on this very strange Monday!   I think they are going to make you smile and that is really what we need right now.  Bright smiles and faith!

Easter will be here before we know it so now is a great time to create Easter cards and encourage our spirits with the promise of the newness of life!

For my Clean and Simple card, I used the super fun Whimsical Round Windows Die and the adorable Egglet!

Enjoy some of those home pastimes you never have time for!
 Stay Safe!
