Hey!

I am totally hooked on birding! Depending on the food we put out we can have a colorful array visit every day.  Sometimes when I walk outside the calls and songs of the birds are so plentiful, I feel as though I live in a tropical forest.  It's also quite humorous to walk out back and get scolded for being out there during feeding time!

This week's Featured Stamper at SCS is Donna and she has a wonderful gallery.  We both chose birds as our subject.  We chose not to use any DP on our card and both used ribbons.  You can find directions to Donna's card HERE.

I created this card with the sweet Tag with Tags set.  Next, I thought I would explore the Birdies die set and I felt a bit like a milliner as I created the hat!  Lastly, I added a small cluster of leaves from the Leaves Reverse Die.  The sentiment stamp is a tiny piece of a wonderful Fall stamp set and fits perfectly inside the small stitched tag. The stamp and all dies are from Impression Obsession.

Today the Impression Obsession team are creating with dies!

Rainbow Dreams

This week Brenda is our host for the Inspiration Challenge and she is taking us to Hand Painted Jars.  I found THIS photo and I am also joining Janine's DTGD Challenge. We have until noon today to upload our DTGD cards so I think this will be my last one for 2019.

Using the photo for inspiration I went with all black and white except for the rainbow.  The rainbow was created with my Life Changing Blender Brushes and this fun stencil by Picket Fence Studios.  I grounded my dreaming fox with a rainbow of color and then ran my blender pen over the ground to soften the colors.  The sentiment is included in this gorgeous sky building background stamp set.

Picket Fence Studios Release Day!

It's Picket Fence Studios Release Day! This is such a fun release so I am going to hop right to it!

First up, I am featuring this beautiful wreath from the new wreath picture frame series. I adore turquoise with traditional fall colors.  The meaning behind the turquoise pumpkin has a special place in my heart so I love to create Fall cards with a splash of turquoise!  I used the greeting from this adorable set which is also great for baby cards.

Next, I created a fun and only slightly spooky card featuring a golden harvest moon.  Check out the fairy frogs!!  Oh, my they make me grin!  Fairy frogs are not something you see every day and I love when an artist surprises me!  The oh so cool frogs are a part of this sweet Halloween set.  The beautiful countyside stamp is so versatile it looks great as a spooky scene but could easily be any time of year by changing the coloring.

The next two cards feature the new foiling cover plate by Picket Fence Designs.

The feather foiling cover plate is kind of like magic as the foiling machine transfers beautifully foiled pattern onto cardstock!    Next, I added this meaningful sentiment from my favorite stamp set.

I may have been thinking about my girl when I created this!

For this card, First, I took the used piece of foil with the feather outline and ran it through the foiling machine with a fresh piece of watercolor paper.  As a result, the foiling machine transferred the remaining outline onto the watercolor paper.  It was fun and easy to watercolor the unfoiled space.  Lastly, I created the sentiment with the new foiling and cutting sentiment die.

Peace

It's one of my favorite days of the month at Impression Obsession; It's Classic Stamp Day!

I found an entire section of "sketch and chalk" images at Impression Obsession and I am a bit obsessed with them!   They look so pretty stamped with the sketchbook stamp as I featured a few weeks ago but they are also beautiful on their own.  For this card, I stamped the Sketched Twig on a previously created Cracked Pistachio Dioxide background.  The green bg is so soothing I decided to add one of the sentiments from the Faith and Love Cling Set.

Stop by the  Impression Obsession Blog for a list of all the participants creating with Classic Stamps today.

I created this with our friend Jeanne's DTGD challenge in mind and this week's Featured Stamper, Kelli!

All Hearts Come Home

It's my turn to host the Inspiration Challenge at SCS and this week we have a Guest Designer who suggested a beautiful site to inspire us.

I found THIS photo which made me think of my cute little Nordic Bird from Impression Obsession.  I decided to make it into a hanging ornament so I stamped it on a stitched circle.  The background and sentiment layers are from a coordinating set.  I love the way they look together.  The sentiment is just right for a bird with a heart on it and it comes from the Holiday Words set.

Do you have Crafty plans this weekend, I would love to hear about them!
Thanks for stopping by!

More Happy Snowman

It's been a very creative week over at Splitcoaststampers with the annual Dare To Get Dirty Challenges happening.  So for the F4A Challenge, I am encouraging everyone to choose a card they posted in their gallery this week and create another similar card but opposite in style.  So if the card they select is a CAS card then I want them to add layers and if it's a busy card, I want them to strip it down to a CAS card.

Here is my MORE card and I posted a picture below of my original CAS card.

My MORE version has an extra layer.  Instead of just the MERRY on the first card, I stamped the entire Merry Christmas sentiment and I added a few sequins.  I also added shadows to my snowman.  I had a lot of fun taking my original card and creating a second card with just a little bit MORE.

Both cards feature Jolly Snowman by Impression Obsession and a sentiment from the Holiday Words set.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you are enjoying a fabulously crafty summer!
If you join in the fun make sure to leave me a comment and let me know so I can take a look at your MORE & LESS cards!

Feel Better

It's Friday, yay!

It's my turn on the Picket Fence Studios blog today and I am pairing this fun jumbo coffee mug die with this heart stamp which overflows with mini hearts! First, I die cut the mug then I heat embossed the little hearts.  Next, I watercolored the cup.  The heat embossing acts as a resist so the little hearts show through the watercolor.  I love this technique.
Next, I created a place for the mug to sit by rubbing white gelato on the lower portion of the card.  After that, I  used a resist spray and sprinkled white embossing powder over it.  Since the resist spray is a fast-drying medium, I quickly used the heat tool to activate the embossing powder. Oh, the lovely texture!  All that remained was to add a sentiment so I chose one from this get well set.

I am also playing along with Julie's DTGD Challenge at SCS.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Impression Obsession Challenge - Moody Blues

The new Impression Obsession Challenge is up and the theme is Moody Blues!

I thought it would be fun to feature the Seasonal Palette and create an all-blue palette. With the Seasonal Palette, the possibility to create a multitude of unique cards and other projects is only limited by the imagination!  The challenge actually showcases one of the fun aspects of this set in that we can create any color palette we wish!

Moody Blues

Now it's your turn to play along with the challenge!  Head on over to the Impression Obsession Blog to see all the challenge samples from the design team and details on entering the challenge. You can enter to win a $25 gift certificate from IO by linking up your "All About Love" card.   The winning project will be chosen at random and will be showcased on the IO blog!

I am also playing along with a Dare To Get Dirty Challenge at SCS.

My Turn

It's my turn to host a Dare to Get Dirty challenge for 2019!

I wish I could tell you more about my challenge but if you are curious you will just have to stop by HERE and follow the links to the DTGD thread!

I can tell you that I used this precious Jolly Snowman by Impression Obsession and just the Merry from a sentiment in the Holiday Words set.  I had so much fun using my Chameleon Color Tone markers to color the scarf.

I will be entering the AAA Cards Challenge but the funny thing is I just can't seem to add the Optional Twist!  Last time the twist was Christmas and I made a summer card, this time the twist is summer and I made a winter card!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you are enjoying a fabulously crafty summer!
