Books for National SMILE Day

It is National Smile Day today! According to studies, smiling can reduce stress, increase happiness, lower blood pressure, and possibly even lengthen one's life. Even a fake smile is beneficial! The Free 4 All challenge this week at SCS is to add a smile to our cards!  I used the fantastic Book Lover stamp set for my image and sentiment.  I just love this set!  I stamped the image on a Rounded Rectangle Layer 2 and used Bzzz Paper Pack for the background. Lastly, I used my corner chomper and chomped the corners on all the layers, matching the Rounded Rectangle Layer.

Sub-lime Birthday - Team Favorites

Hello!  I am featuring this sub-lime birthday card for IO's Team Favorites! I adore both the Sweet Citrus and More Sweet Citrus sets; they are refreshing and fun!

The More Sweet Citrus set was used in the making of this card. The other items used are the Basics 12 Limes paper pack and the Crazy Stitched Set die.

Untraditional Celebration - Theme Day Graduation Hop

Hi! It's that time of year again, graduation! In many households, May is busier than December with graduations, teacher appreciation, etc. IO is here to help you with last-minute graduation ideas!

I gave my graduation cards an untraditional look.  I used a distressed ink background from my stash and stenciled an Open Balloon.  Then I stamped inside the balloon with one of the stamps from the Textures set.  The sentiment and stars are from Reach for the Stars.  

Next, I liberally sprinkled Brusho Powders on water-resilient cardstock. After it was dry, I added the Celebrate die cut.

This week at SCS, we are embossing or stamping on patterned paper for the Free 4 All. On my card, I did both!  I used the lovely Citrus Colors Paper Pack for my project.  I cut and embossed a panel. I then stamped the orange and the leaf. The images and punny sentiment are from the Sweet Citrus stamp set.

Oh, Brushos You Light Up My Life

I am hosting the SCS Watercolor Wednesday Challenge and we are pulling out our watercolor powders! I love the brilliant colors I get from watercolor powders.  

I also used the Circle of Friends stamp set and Into the Light.  Then I framed the piece with a Rectangle 6 in 1 Frame.

Dare to be Different - Product Focus - Stencils

Hello!  The IO Product Focus this month is stencils! I am showcasing the Open Balloons stencil for a fun celebration or encouragement card. I like the idea of giving this to a graduate who dances to the beat of their own drum! The sentiment is from the Reach for the Stars set and stamped on a Rounded Rectangle Layer. Lastly, I stamped balloon strings from the Birthday Hugs stamp set.

Happy Place - Day 2 IO May Release

Hello and welcome to day two of the May Impression Obsession Release!

I had so much fun with the Lazy Days Swing stamp set. I thoroughly enjoyed using the little images to create a scene.  The flag is printed with an American Flag or you can stamp a clear flag, paper piece, and make your own which is what I did here. Even though I am not great at fussy cutting, I stamped, colored, and cut a tiny finch, then placed him on the sentiment! I used the Stars and Stripes paper for a fun summer look. 

For this next card, I used the beautiful Grungy Dots Background stamp.  (Don't hesitate to order the background stamp if you love it as much as I do!  It will be available only a short time). This fantastic cat is from the new Book Lover set by Nola Chandler.  I just love this set.  I will be using it for all my book-lover friends! I made two tags from the new Tattered Tag. For the sentiment strip, I cut a strip and then stuck part of it in the tag die to get the fun tattered edge!

Live Zestfully - Impression Obsession May Release

Hello friends!  Welcome to the May Impression Obsession Release Hop & Giveaway. This month has zesty products, birthday products, and much more!

The background for my first project was created using the delicious Citrus Colors paper pack. The Sweet Citrus Die Set is a must-have! I love the items in the citrus set, including the small flower and branch pieces!  The sentiment from the More Sweet Citrus set was stamped on the Deckled Tag Die Set banner. The irregular edges are ideal for nature scenes.

Next, a fun birthday card.  Once again I used the Citrus Colors for the background and inspiration for my coloring.  The fun birthday stamp set is called Can Can Candles and includes three fun images and two excellent sentiments! I also used the Crazy Stitched Set and the Primitive Stars on this card.
