A Myth

Hello!  I am back!  Did you miss me?  :)  I just realized I had 7 posts last week, compared to this week's one post, I have been rather quiet!

We have had a very busy week.  First, we enjoyed watching our daughter sing and dance her way through Shrek the Musical.  Then we continued our decluttering and I am almost all the way moved back into my art space!

I have been stamping in here the last few days and I am loving my new workspace.  The cabinets have become my desk so I can stand while I work which takes the pressure off my back!  The cabinets line up along the wall giving me a lovely long space to work in.  I have noticed that I am not losing things I work on like I did before because I can spread out!  I will post photos once I have everything the way I want it!

So here I am today with a fun card for the Inspiration Challenge at SCS!   The Inspiration site this week is a bedding site with super creative bedding designs!

I decided to create a rainbow of sunshine using these blending brushes and this stencil.  Then I colored this groovy unicorn and added Wink of Stella to the horn and glasses. (Sadly my lighting doesn't show the sparkle.)  Next I die cut the unicorn and paired him with the fun myth sentiment from this set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, have a great day and be so awesome that people think you are a myth!

On My Mind

Today's Featured Stamper at SCS is Sharon!  She has a huge gallery full of fabulous designs!  I always enjoy "bumping" into her when we play the same challenges!  Sharon's card features a floral cover-up die and it's gorgeous.  It made me think of my floral cover a card stamp from Impression Obsession!  I masked off part of this sentiment to fit the angled design.

This is going to a sweet friend who's mom recently passed away.  I hope the flowers will bring her some cheer.

Umm Hi!

This week Brenda has chosen an amazing site for the Inspiration Challenge!  It's going to be hard not to buy something from this store!

This fun photo inspired my coloring.   I changed the green bird to a blue and for the yellow birds, I tried to add similar coloring as the yellow birds in the photo.

The sweet image and sentiment are by Impression Obsession:

You Got This & a PFS Winner!

Today's Free For All Challenge at SCS has us choosing our favorite color combo.  I have a lot of favorites!  This is one of my newest. It's a slightly new take on my all-time favorite pink and blue combo.  Once stenciled the Peacock Feathers ink has a sea-foam green tone.  I guess I do like it because I just bought liners for my new art cabinets in this same shade of green.

Well, you probably are not here to read about my favorite colors!  My winner Denise was lucky enough to have been drawn on two of the DT blogs as a winner. She has generously given up one of the gift vouchers so that we can draw another winner and share the love.
Thank you so much, Denise!
I told my son (who is home for spring break) how many commenters I had over the two-day release and asked him to pick a number and he picked #4.  Joyce was my 4th commenter!

I need to own that sentiment! I do that all the time! Thankfully I’ve never been arrested! 😂
Well, Joyce, you got this and now you can own that sentiment!  :)
Please contact me via email and I will give you all the info.  GV expires April 15 so contact me soon!

A New Challenge - Happy Easter

The new Impression Obsession Challenge is up and the theme is Happy Easter.  We still have plenty of time to create some Easter cards so I hope you will join us and link up your card for a chance to win a gift voucher!

For my Easter Card, I chose this super fun stamp duo,  F20651 Floral Bunny Ears and C20648 Bunny Face.   I enjoy creating with these stamps so much!  It's super easy to create the darling face and then it can be colored in a variety of ways for different looks.  My daughter says she wants me to create one for her with all orange flowers!  Since, I have been loving shades of blue lately, I used a variety of blue and bluegreen, Inktense pencils to color the flowers.

Now it's your turn to play along with the challenge!  Head on over to the Impression Obsession blog to see all the challenge samples from the design team and details on entering the challenge. You can enter to win a $25 gift certificate from IO by linking up your "All About Love" card.   The winning project will be chosen at random and will be showcased on the IO blog!

I am also entering this cute bunny into the:

Beautiful cards with the new designs! The wood slice is an awesome background for the foxes, and I love your colors on your first card!

May the Road...

I am back again with another Impression Obsession card inspired by a Splitcoaststampers Challenge!  If you would like to view my Impression Obsession all Die Cut card scroll down or click HERE!

This card was inspired by  CAS525 - Luck of the Irish challenge at SCS.  We are supposed to add green to our cards so I used Peacock Feathers for the sky which is a blue-green.  Coincidentally the grass is Lucky Clover Distress Ink!  As soon as I saw this sentiment/image I had to have it.  I have always loved the Irish Blessing and it's so sweet with the image as part of the sentiment.

I would love to know, did you celebrate St. Patrick's day in some way?  Did you wear green?

Thanks so much for looking and may the Road Rise Up to Meet You!

Thinking of You with Die Cuts

I Think silhouettes make striking scenes for sympathy or encouragement cards. Adding a pop of color keeps the scenes from being too somber.

Here is what I used for today's card:

DIE060-I Grass Border
 DIE379-D Dragonfly Set
      DIE140-D Tiny Flowers Die

Today the designers are creating cards with mostly dies new and old. For a list of all the designers participating in today's Die Cut Obsession check out the Impression Obsession blog.

Just Around the Corner

If you are looking for today's Picket Fence Stamps post click HERE or scroll down.

With the way the days fly by Easter is just around the corner!  Today at Splitcoaststampers the Free For All challenge is to create a Spring or Easter card.  Therefore I think it's time to bring out this lovely flowered silhouette stamp!

I colored the stamp with markers, spritzed it with water and stamped on cardstock.  Lastly, I used this gorgeous Easter greeting and that was it!

Burst of Color with a Giveaway!

Hi! I am back today with another card which features the fabulous paint splatter stamp from Picket Fence Studios.  I started off stamping warm Distress Oxide colors, Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber,  and Spiced Marmalade on  Color Heals the Soul Next, I spritzed the stamp with water and stamped on cardstock.

As I mentioned yesterday on my blog post this is a lovely long stamp that easily fits a horizontal A2 card but I love creating vertical cards. So I only used a portion of the stamp for this card.  When stamping a vertical card you don't get the drips on the right side (see the photo of the stamp set below) so I dried the stamp and moved the cardstock over.  Then I inked just the drip on the right side of the stamp.  Next, I added a sentiment that I thought would be perfect for my daughter as she is just months from graduating high school!

At this point, I thought I was finished with the card. However, even though it was very appealing to me with all the white space I knew my girl would find it boring.  She loves color and very little white space!  So I flipped the card around And added the rest of the rainbow colors! Next, I inked the stamp with Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Wilted Violet Distress inks and then spritzed with water.  Lastly, I dried it with the heat gun and then moved the cardstock to add the purple drip.

Today is your second opportunity for a chance to WIN a $15.00 gift voucher to the Picket Fence Store!  Simply leave me a comment and let me know do you like to create with lots of white space or would you rather fill your card with layers and a lot of color?
Drawing is open to US and International commenters! Unfortunately, free shipping is only available to US residents. The drawing will be open until March 19 at 8pm EST. I will announce the winner on March 20th!

Picket Fence Studio's Colorful Release & Giveaway!

Hello and welcome to the March Picket Fence Release Day! I am so excited to share the new products with you! I knew this release was something special when I was able to create three fun cards in a very short time while living in a disorganized state!  My art room is getting a bit of a makeover so I have set up shop in my small dining area. It's a bit tricky creating with paint fumes hanging heavy in the air and a husband who needs something every few minutes!   So if you are looking for stamps that are fun and easy to create with you stopped by the right spot!

I had a blast "painting" with the new Color Heals the Soul stamp set!  I inked the stamp with Distress Oxide Inks then spritzed with water.  This is a long stamp which fits a vertical A2 fold but I am fond of horizontal A2 folds so I just used part of the stamp. It's gorgeous however you wish to use it!  Next, I stamped BFF Girl Ava and colored her hair and body with Copics.  For the purse and shirt, I watercolored with Distress Oxide ink to make sure I had a good match with the background.  The sentiment is from I Snorted which includes 3 fun sentiments!  Isn't this one a hoot?

For my next card, I used the brand new Slice of Wood along with some previous release favorites! This slice of wood is such a fun size with so many possibilities!  I colored the images with InkTense pencils and activated the color on the wood slice.  For the foxes, I touched the brush directly to the pencil and watercolored. These darling foxes are included in the Stand in the Sunshine set along with a sweet pair of owls! I love that this set also had a coordinating die set which makes it a snap to cut!!  For my sentiment, I grabbed one of the shorter sentiments from Ways to Say Get Well.  This is an awesome set with twelve encouraging sentiments.

Now onto the giveaway details!  Each designer has a $15.00 Gift Voucher to give away!  How fun is that?  For a chance to win leave me a comment and let me know what is your favorite painting medium! Stop by again tomorrow for an additional chance to win by leaving me a comment on that post!  The drawing will be open until March 19 at 8pm EST. I will announce the winner on March 20th.  Don't forget that Shipping is Free at Picket Fence to US residents!

The Giveaway is open to US and International shoppers but International shoppers will have to pay for shipping.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to "see" you tomorrow!

Impression Obsession Old is New - Spring is Here!

Today the Impression Obsession team is featuring classic stamps in new designs!  I chose this sweet spring stamp.  The "scene" stamps from Impression Obsession are so fun to use.  They stamp beautifully and are gorgeous with a little coloring or a lot!

This week's Featured Stamper at SCS is Sunny Qi!  I love Sunny's art! She inspires me. Her gallery is filled with gorgeous CAS cards.  I was inspired overall by her use of white space and bright pops of color.

I am also playing along with the Flower Power Challenge: Anything Goes

The Impression Obsession team has set aside a couple days a month to share new projects using beautiful classic stamps. You can see the list of today’s participants on the Impression Obsession blog!
