Hope You Can Cling To 2014 - When the World Tilts

Today is the last day of "Hope You Can Cling To 2014"!  It's been a wonderful month full of inspirational stories and art!  Today there will be three challenges.  The first one is live and I am your challenge hostess!  Click the HYCCT button above for all the details.  There's still time to join us as the cut off day to upload is November 7th!

My Challenge: HYCCT1431A

If you would like to know a little bit more about me, there is also a "Meet the Challenge Hostess" thread you can find HERE.

Hope When the World Tilts

I used the word "Hope" on my card because it's my favorite word during difficult times.  I have been fortunate thus far not to have been touched by breast cancer but I have struggled through dark times and it was during the darkest times that I held onto Hope.  When I wanted to give up it was the Hope of a future planned by God that continued to see me through.

I would remind myself of
Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

and.....

Psalm 139: 15-17

My frame was not hidden from you

when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Mark's Finest Papers Inspriation Challenge - Unusual Snowman

Hello and welcome to Inspiration Time with MFP!

Shirley has given us three COOL (ummmm, no, I didn't actually plan the pun but now that it's there I am going to leave it.) unusual snow people photos to inspire us this week.

The third photo is what gave me my starting point.  The blueish, purplish tones in the background of the photo reminded me of a background I had created some time ago and never used.  The first photo captures the texture of snow so I thought I'd have a little mixed media fun and give my snowman from Snow Gifts  some textured snow to sit in.  I used modeling paste and added glass beads for the snowbank.

I hope you will head over to Speedy TV to play along with the inspiration challenge this week and see the                                             fabulous projects my teammates have created!

Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps - Monday Inspiration - Butterfly Note

 Good Monday Morning!

Welcome to Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps Inspiration.

PPRS Blog

For today's card I used: CLR001 Butterflies - Clear Stamp.

It's hard to believe but we are on the count down to the end of October which means there are just five days of HYCCT challenge left.  I have had so much fun creating cards to send to MD Anderson Cancer Center.  This is one of the cards that will be winging it's way to Texas at the end of the week.

Joyce challenged us to create a card with something missing so I created a card without coloring or bright colors.  This elegant PPRS butterfly is just the right choice for this design.

Now I hope you will stop by Prickley Pear Rubber stamps blog  and view the lovely designs my teammates have created this week!

Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps Monday Inspiration.

Hello and welcome to another Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp Monday Inspiration post!

PPRS Blog

Today I am sharing a card using all Prickley Pear dies:

I have seen Brenda (tessaduck at SCS) use the inlay technique often but until Dina created a tutorial I had never given it a try before.  I played along with Julie's fun HYCCT1420 challenge. I am very close to being right on track with HYCCT and at the end of the month I will send out a box of over 31 cards to be used by family, friends and patients.

We have more projects to share with you so I hope you will stop by Prickley Pear Rubber stamps blog  and view the lovely designs my teammates have created this week!

Mark's Finest Papers Inspiration Challenge -

Hello! I hope you are having a good week!!

It's time for the  Speedy TV inspiration challenge and we have three fun photos to choose from.

I chose the first photo as inspiration.  I used the red coat to inspire my umbrella from  Mark's Finest Papers: "Rain Clouds" and the soft fabric of the coat for the fluffy clouds.

I hope you will head over to Speedy TV to play along with the inspiration challenge this week and see the                                             fabulous projects my teammates have created!

This card is my second card for Natalie's HYCCT1415 challenge to use something soft.

PPRS - Monday Inspiration - Black Cats Welcome

Happy Monday!  It IS a happy Monday at our house.  Not only are the kids home but my husband is too!  We are going to pick up one of our daughter's friends and head out for the day but before we go I thought I would share this cute black cat with you.

I used Prickley Pear Rubber stamps images:  CC0086 Black Cat, EE0195 Black Cats Welcome Here for this card.
When I saw the sentiment I just had to have it as we have our very own black cat and she's pretty wonderful!  She's quite the character.  Lately our Storm, has been sneaking into my card photography studio.  :)

Psst.....You can view the cute "HH0095 6 Chicks in a Row" card that was supposed to be the subject of this photography session  HERE

We have more projects to share with you so I hope you will stop by Prickley Pear Rubber stamps blog  and view the lovely designs my teammates have created this week!

Thanks for looking and I hope your week is off to a great start.

WOYWW! and HYCCT

Hello and Welcome to What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday!   Each week Julia at Stamping Ground sends us around the world  via the ever faithful Mister Linky for peeks inside one another's work spaces.  It's been a few weeks since I have posted but I made it today and I can't wait to see what's on your work desk this week!

I have been playing along with Splitcoaststampers HYCCT.  Every day during the month of October there is a new challenge at Splitcoaststampers Hope You Can Cling To Challenge Forum.  There are fabulous prizes to be won for participating but of course the real reason we play is to bring HOPE to the patients at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.

Here is what is on my desk right now as I am in the process of preparing my completed cards so that they can be mailed to MD Anderson Cancer Center for patients, friends and family to use.

PPRS Monday Inspiration - Chipmunk Autumn

Happy Monday!

Autumn has come to Georgia!  We had gorgeous Autumn weather this weekend, did you?

As often as possible my neighbor and I take a morning walk.  My neighbor brings along Penny, her Dachshund.  Penny, is the sweetest little thing and she would just love to have a chat with one of the many chipmunks we see on our walks but they are faster than Penny and always dart quickly into their burrows.  My card today makes me think of those cute little chipmunks!

For an extra bit of fun I added glossy accents to the leaf embellishment.

Supplies used for Chipmunk Autumn:

I am also playing along with HOPE YOU CAN CLING TO at Splitcoaststampers this month. I created the following card for Sabrina's (cook22) challenge to adhere layers WITHOUT any type of sticky adhesive!

Supplies for "Holding together in the Moment":

We have more projects to share with you, along with new design members so I hope you will stop by Prickley Pear Rubber stamps blog  and view the lovely designs my teammates have created this week!
