With Love & Stencils - IO January Product Focus

Hello and welcome! This month at IO, the Product Focus is Stencils!

I used the Windows Stencil to create this fun card. The Windows Stencil Set includes four stencils: squares, ovals, rectangles, and circles. There are so many design possibilities with all of the newly released stencil sets!

I used Peacock ink to stamp pictures from the Lovingly Wrapped for You set inside each square.

The Hearts Have It - Theme Day - Hearts

Hello, and welcome to IO's Theme Day!

**Affiliate links are used when possible at no charge to you!**

This month's theme is all about hearts! My cards feature stamps from this month's Release and can be found HERE.

The adorable typewriter from the Xs and Os set is the "star of the show" on the first card.

On the second card, I used Xs and Os once more; such a fun set! I framed the cute heart image with the Large Frame and added a sentiment from You Have My Heart. Lastly, I added the darling, bow from the Sm Balloon Strings Die set.

Chemistry plus New Sticky Mats!

*Affiliate Links used when possible with no added cost to you!*

Hello!  February is almost here; it's a great time to think about the people we love. I am up on the My Sweet Petunia Blog featuring this fun chemistry card and the new Sticky Mats!

The Sticky Mat is a time-saving tool you will want to add to your collection.  I really like it for stamping large background stamps as it holds the paper in place even when stamping multiple times.

First, I pulled off the plastic liner that protects the sticky part of the mat.  Next, I placed the centimeter grid inside the MISTI, sticky side up.  A piece of watercolor paper was placed on the sticky mat next a couple of centimeters away from the edge.  I love that the watercolor paper did not move even though I stamped the Bubbles background stamp multiple times to get a good bubble impression. It can be tricky to get a dark impression on watercolor paper so the sticky mat is fabulous!  As always, I used the Original MISTI for the main image and a Mini MISTI to stamp the sentiment on the tag. The sentiment is from Great Chemistry and the tag is Plaid Tag. Tip: I like to keep my stamps in the MISTIs until I am completely done with the project.  Lastly, I added a cute beaker from the Chemistry Bottles Die set.

The Sticky Mats are sold in a three-pack including quarter-inch, an eighth of an inch, and centimeter grids.

The Love of a Boy

Hello!  It's my turn to host the F4All Challenge at Splitcoaststampers and we decided it was time to celebrate the boys!  I chose this adorable boy from the Love Girls clear set.  One of the fun things about a clear set is the ability to manipulate it just a bit.  I slightly placed a cut in the solid plastic between the hearts in the rainbow.  This allowed the stamp to be stretched apart just enough for the hearts to around the boy's head instead of directly above it.

As always we would love for you to join us over at Splitcoaststampers, a FREE online community for paper crafters!

If you haven't hopped the January Impression Obsession Team Favorites  Hop & Giveaway there is still time!

I Love You

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

It's Wednesday and that means it is time for a new Watercolor Wednesday Challenge and I am hosting this week!  I found a tutorial for painting a heart and thought it would be fun to give it a try.

I wasn't comfortable with my drawing skills so I die cut a heart for a pattern.  I don't actually have a nesting set of hearts but I do have this sweet Eyelet Primitive Heart set from Impression Obsession.  I just cut off the scallops for my pattern.  I painted my heart in warm Daniel Smith watercolors which was a gift from my sweet friend Janeen.  Lastly, I added a sentiment from the Skinny Words set.

All are welcome at Splitcoaststampers from beginner to expert and it's a free site!   We would love for you to join us!

Cat Love

It's Saturday and that means it's time for a new Inspiration Challenge at SCS.  Stacy has chosen such a cute Pinterest board to inspire us this week!

Last night I pulled out this sweet stencil by medlockcrafts that my friend Janine gave me and I created while I was ZOOMing with artsy friends!  It's so fun to laugh and create with a group of friends and in these times ZOOM makes it safe to do so!

I once again I used the technique of stenciling distress ink first.  Then spritz with water and added watercolor Powder.  Spritz with water again then lay another piece of cardstock over the top and blot up the excess water.  I love using distress ink on the bottom layer because it changes the overall look of the watercolor powder.  I am very tired of the look of my watercolor powder but I need to wait a bit to buy new supplies so this is a great technique!  After I picked up my stencil I realized that I had allowed a very little bit of watercolor powder on the corner and it now ruined my clean look.  At first, I thought I might trash it but then I decided to sprinkle more watercolor powder and water on my craft mat and smoosh the paper at the top and bottom.  Viola!  Mistake obliterated and it looks pretty cool!  :)

Thank you Janine for the amazing stencil!  I had so much fun using it!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Love and Hugs!

Leap into Love

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

With Leap Day tomorrow how about leaping into love with a couple of cats?  They are amazing leapers!
I am also participating in the Free 4 All Challenge at SCS with my birds!

I created a salted background and then created a window with the nine-patch die!  I used the twig from this set for a tree branch.  Added sweet birds and two curious cats.  My cat loves sitting at the window for hours watching birds!  Lastly, I added a die-cut sentiment with a sentiment set.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Anything Goes and this week they are featuring Impression Obsession products and I have a card for that!

If you have a pet I would love to hear where they love to hang out!

Heart Bouquet

Today is "Old is New Day" over at the Impression Obsession blog!  The IO team is featuring older stamps in new designs. I am featuring this darling Bouquet of Hearts because I am smitten by Nola's girls with their upturned faces of joy!  For the background piece, I repeatedly stamped the Love sentiment from the Faith and Love set.

For a list of today's participants in the Old is New Day head on over to the Impression Obsession Blog!

The card design was inspired by CAS(E) this sketch#358.

I am also celebrating this week's Featured Stamper:  Brent's Cards

IO Hugs and Kisses Challenge

It's Hugs and Kisses day for the Impression Obsession Challenge!

For the challenge, I am featuring the XOXO die from Love Words which means "kiss, hug, kiss, hug" or Hugs and kisses! :)  I layered the gorgeous eyelet hearts from lavender flowers design paper.  Then for the finishing touch, I added buttons.  I am obsessed with the Half Inch Button die!  The die cuts out 15 buttons at once!  It's perfect for adhering the buttons in two or three layers for more dimension without having to cut buttons over and over!

Everyone is invited to participate in the Hugs and Kisses Challenge for a chance to win a prize!  Check out the Impression Obsession Blog for all the details!

Love Note

Hi!  Happy Saturday! Saturday means a new challenge at SCS and this week, Julie is sending us to Crayola!  I was smitten with the Blue Pinterest Board and THIS photo in particular.

I used the darling Love Note image by Picket Fence Studios and added just a hint of coloring.  Next, I used the coordinating die and popped up the image.  I think the mice are cute as can be!

That's it for me today but I hope you can carve out a little time and pick up your art supplies and create!

Thanks for stopping by!

I Miss Youuuuuu!

Hi!  Happy Monday!  Today I am participating in the CAS Challenge at SCS.  The challenge is to use something we hold on to and add to sort of like hoarding, but it's art supplies, so we don't use that word around here!  :)  My item is patterned paper.  I can't pass by a stack of patterned paper in the store and not buy a stack. Paper is totally my weakness.  I have had the BasicGrey Oxford paper stack I used today, since 2012!  I loved it so much that I bought another stack but I still have most of the original pack.  Hi, I am Angie, and I have a tiny paper obsession!

The cute little Ted E Bear and the Miss You sentiment are from the new Impression Obsession Release.  The die-cut hearts came from the Two Kitties die set which were released in the Fall collection.
