A Trio of Hanging Lights

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

Hi!  It's Saturday and that means it's time for a new Inspiration Challenge.  This week Kia is our Guest and she has chosen Beijos to inspire us.  Right off I saw several photos with large balloon masterpieces that made me think of the fabulous  Patio Lights Dies by Impression Obsession.  This photo of lunar lights sealed the deal!  I didn't want anything to take away from alcohol ink lights so I kept it simple adding a gold string and the Wonderful Life sentiment.

With this card, I am also participating in the Fan Club Christmas Challenge at SCS.

Coffee is Better

Happy Friday!  I stopped over to see the Friday Challenges at Splitcoaststampers and decided to play along with this week's MIX Challenge to use complementary colors.

I blended complementary Distress Ink colors through the Picket Fence Studios Coffee Cup Stencil with LC Blender Brushes. Next, I added Brown Dahlia Paper Glaze for the coffee heart using a Mixed Media Spatula.  I really like this set of spatulas for Paper Glaze because of the different sizes!  For the steam, I added Wink of Stella over distress ink.  The sentiment is from the fun Sponsored by Coffee Set.  Lastly, you know I had to add a few sequins.  I added two sequins from the Black Magic Mix and one from the Moscow Mule Mix.

I am certainly missing having coffee out with friends.  Is there someone you can't wait to have coffee with?  Maybe you could ZOOM, FaceTime, or meet up digitally in another way and enjoy a cup of coffee with a friend!

I hope you have a great weekend!

Cookie Wreath

It's Wednesday and that means it's time for Die Cut Showcase at Impression Obsession.  I really wanted to use the new Frosted Cookies Dies but I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with them until I checked out the CASE this Sketch Challenge.  I used the Magnolia Wreath and then attached the cookies to the wreath.  The sentiment is Merry Christmas and as a final touch, I added pink enamel dots.

Until the end of the week, you can grab sunflower items at 25% off at the IO Store!

Before you go, I would love to know if you make cookies from scratch?  I love homemade cookies but I don't always make them.  My favorites are frosted sugar cookies and what Betty Crocker calls, Russian Tea Cakes.  Yum.  I am hungry now!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Watercolor Sky

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

Hi!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new Watercolor Wednesday Challenge at SCS.  I also checked out this week's Art Nudge and found that the challenges were made for each other!

I followed the second technique on the video that Brenda shared with us at WCW.  I found this method to be relaxing and fun.  I used my best paper Fabriano 100% Cotton Extra White Watercolor Paper and Winsor & Newton Watercolor.  My dear friend squeezed some paint onto a watercolor sheet, let dry, then sent me some sample colors to try!  I really thought a lot about what sentiment to use, in the end, I settled on My Prayers by Impression Obsession.

My color palette was determined by Art Nudge #33.

I am also playing along with the SCS Teapot Challenge.  The challenge is to represent how we have felt in 2020.  I love expressing myself in my art so I couldn't resist this challenge.  I have had so many days where I woke up feeling blue in 2020.  So I have bright blue clouds.  My clouds seem to be moving quickly across the sky and I have felt tossed and windblown for much of 2020.  I have also prayed for more friends and more people that I don't actually know during 2020 and finally, I love looking at the clouds.  I have had a lot more time to take walks and take in the beauty of the sky in 2020.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  We hope you will join us for the challenges mentioned above!  I would love to see a representation of how you have felt in 2020!

Hello, and Happy Weekend!  This week's SCS Inspiration Challenge is brought to us by Amy and she has chosen an elegant online Home store to inspire our designs.  I saw the pretty wicker furniture and it made me think of the Wherever You Go stamp setThe first photo on the 4th row of the "outdoor" section even shows a blue pool in the background. I colored my rug and wicker seat covers in the same cool pool blue. I watercolored the entire image and added a sentiment from the Dragon Fruit Stamp set.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope your weekend is sweet!

A Pumpkin for You

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

I love Old is New Day at Impression Obsession!  The IO store overflows with every kind of image and sentiment so it's a lot of fun to feature some of the older stamps.  I adore these happy-faced girls by Nola so I just had to have Fall Girl for my collection!  I framed her with the Stitched Square Frame.  I add a sentiment from another super cute set by Nola called Here is My Heart.  What is so adorable about that set is there are greetings to stamp inside the heart the girl is holding.  I have posted a photo below so you can see.  Here is my heart is a bargain at 50% off! The sentiment is stamped on Wacky Stitched Circles and framed with Scalloped Stitched Circles.  Lastly, I added another touch of fall with a couple leaves from Serendipity Leaves Reverse. (This fabulous die is 50% off while supplies last!)

With this card, I am also celebrating this week's Featured Stamper!

For Old is New Day you can find a list of the participating Designers at the Impression Obsession Blog!

I am also participating with Art Nudge #32!  I used the pumpkin in the photo prompt but I left out the ghosts.  I think I used all of the colors in the palette though!  You can check out the cute photo at the Art Nudge on FB.

It's Wednesday and that means it is time for a new Watercolor Wednesday Challenge and I am hosting this week!  I found a tutorial for painting a heart and thought it would be fun to give it a try.

I wasn't comfortable with my drawing skills so I die cut a heart for a pattern.  I don't actually have a nesting set of hearts but I do have this sweet Eyelet Primitive Heart set from Impression Obsession.  I just cut off the scallops for my pattern.  I painted my heart in warm Daniel Smith watercolors which was a gift from my sweet friend Janeen.  Lastly, I added a sentiment from the Skinny Words set.

All are welcome at Splitcoaststampers from beginner to expert and it's a free site!   We would love for you to join us!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Splattered Meowy Christmas

(Affiliate links used when possible which means when you click a link and order from my link I receive a small commission without any additional cost added to you.  Thanks so much!)

Happy Saturday!  It's Caturday and that means it's time for a new SCS Inspiration Challenge!  Stacy is our hostess and she is taking us to a fun costume site!  I found a darling black kitty comfy critter costume to inspire my design.  I share the link in my SCS gallery.

I was also inspired by this week's Art Nudge #31.  I mean, how could I not play in this week's Art Nudge with a photo like that?  The cat in the Nudge looks so much like our Storm! The photo prompt is pictured below.  :)

Lastly, I was going to play in the MIX Challenge which is a painted tree but I misunderstood the challenge.  The ladies are working hard in the challenge to actually paint a tree or branch.  I painted the stamp with watercolor and then stamped it so....I was inspired by the challenge but I won't actually post this IN the challenge.  :)   I  used Lavender Grass for my tree which is sort of clever, I think.  :)  Then I added this darling Cat Silhouette 5 to the corner.  I blended ink to the sky and spritzed with water for a winter look.  The sentiment is Meowy Christmas from Jeanne Strieff's IO line.  Lastly, I added water to some Golden RosePaper Glaze and splattered the design.  That brings me to a total of 3 coloring mediums to qualify for the MIX Challenge.  :)  It only takes 2 mediums but I like to overachieve when possible! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope this gets you in a crafty mood for the weekend!

Welcome to Day 2 of the Impression Obsession Slim Scenes Hop!  All of the details are listed below!

This card features the majestic Norway Spruce.  I stamped the tree then blended an inky blue sky around the tree.  I splattered the sky with water and dabbed off the splatter which gave a wonderful winter look to the scene.  I added vibrant Cardinals and the Merry Christmas Sentiment.

Next up is the gorgeous TreeLine Layers!  I stamped the longest Treeline stamp in the middle of my scene and then I placed the two smaller TreeLine stamps in such a way as to create a lake! Next, I ink blended the sky and lake. Lastly, I added a sentiment from Winter Greetings.

A list of all the participants can be found on the Impression Obsession Blog or you can head to your next stop, the amazing Anna Wight!

The Cloudy Sky Slimline stamp creates amazing skylines!  After stamping the sky, I added one of the mountain ranges from the Mountain Layers Slimline stamp set.  Next, I added the longest layer from the Tree Line Layers Slimline Stamp Set.  Lastly, I added the Wonderful Life sentiment.  I finished off the card with a snowy splatter.

Since my next card is featured on today's banner, I thought I would showcase it on today's blog!  This was fun to create. First, I die cut a circle from masking paper, then blended ink around the moon.  I stamped one of the Bare Treeline images from the Bare Treeline Duo set. And lastly, I stamped one of the sentiments from Winter Greetings
