Too Cute To Spook in Pink

Hello, crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a too-cute-to-spook Halloween card featuring the sweetest little ghost—and some very unexpected Halloween colors.

I’m celebrating this week’s Featured Stamper Challenge at Splitcoaststampers, honoring the talented Tisa. Tisa has created a stunning collection of cards, and I chose to CASE a few elements from one of her designs while putting my own spin on the rest. I used similar colors and made a large circle the focal point of my card, but everything else is different. It’s always fun to see how a few design elements can inspire an entirely new card!

For my card, I started with a piece of fuchsia patterned paper from the Monster Brights Paper Pack by SweetMissDaisy Designs and cut it to 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. I die-cut a partial circle along the edge of the patterned paper to create a fun peek-through opening.

Next, I die-cut a sweet scalloped circle and stamped the adorable ghost from the Fab-boo-lous Stamp Set by SweetMissDaisy Designs. This little ghost is all dressed up for Halloween with a pink ribbon and a lollipop! I colored her with soft pink cheeks and pink shading, which makes her look even sweeter.

I layered the scalloped circle over the partial circle opening and popped it up with foam adhesive for added dimension. Then I stamped the “Too Cute to Spook” sentiment, trimmed it out, and popped it up as well.

I love how this card turns traditional Halloween colors upside down! Instead of the usual orange, black, and purple, the bright fuchsia and pretty pink give this little ghost a fun and unexpected look. And really, could she be any cuter? I think not! 👻💗

If you’d like to make this card yourself, you’ll find the stamps and papers I used in the SweetMissDaisy Designs Shop.

Card making is such a wonderful way to share creativity while sending something fun and handmade. Whether you’re getting an early start on your fall and Halloween projects or simply looking for an excuse to color an adorable ghost, I hope today’s card inspires you to spend some happy time creating!

Happy stamping!

Halloween Fun Meets Christmas Cheer | SMD Designs August Release

 Hello friends!

It's release day at SweetMissDaisy Designs, and there is so much to share! This month's release includes two delightfully spooky stamp sets created in partnership with Serendipity Stamps, one fantastic SweetMissDaisy Designs original, and—because Christmas cardmakers never really take a season off—a charming skating snowman!

Let's take a look at today's projects.

Fab-boo-lous Ghosts

First up is the adorable Fab-boo-lous stamp set featuring six "too cute to spook" ghosts! These little ghosts are perfect for cards, but they would also make fabulous treat toppers, tags, gift card holders, party favors, and more.

For my card, I selected three of the sweet ghosts and paired them with two of the fun sentiments. The tiny spider comes from the Open If You Dare stamp set—I love mixing sets to create even more possibilities!

The purple patterned paper from the new Monster Brights paper pack makes the perfect playful Halloween background. I selected two different photos from this week's Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge for this cheerful Halloween design.

Haunted Halloween

Next up is a wonderfully creepy haunted house!

The haunted house image comes from the Haunted stamp set. I began with a 3¼" x 5½" piece of bright chartreuse patterned paper from the Monster Brights paper pack centered on my card base.

One of my favorite elements is the crescent moon "fence" in the background. The die is actually retired and originally created to make a rosette, but I discovered it makes an amazing spooky fence! It's always fun to stretch your supplies and find new uses for older dies.

I stamped the haunted house onto a 3⅛" x 3½" panel and colored it simply with touches of chartreuse on the moon, sky, and ground. Sometimes a limited color palette creates just the right eerie mood.

Hey Pumpkin!

How can you resist this lovable little ghost?

The sweet image from the Hey Pumpkin stamp set features an adorable ghost proudly holding a smiling jack-o'-lantern. I combined papers from both the Monster Brights and Monster Prints collections to create lots of playful Halloween color and pattern.

Soft blue-green shadows give the ghost a gentle glow, while bright orange enamel dots and a "Happy Halloween" sentiment complete the card with a fun pop of color.

Skating By

Last—but certainly not least—is the monthly snowman release!

The Skating By stamp set features a bundled-up snowman happily gliding across the ice. I colored his cozy winter clothes in cheerful shades of yellow, red, and green for a classic Christmas look.

The background comes from the Worn Dots paper pack, and I finished the card with lots of die-cut snowflakes to create a magical winter wonderland scene.

This card is skating into three Splitcoaststampers challenges:

  • F4A858 – Countdown to Cool
  • CCC26AUG – Enchanting or Magical Cards
  • SCSCCAUG26 – Fan Club Christmas Challenge

All the stamp sets featured today are available now in the SweetMissDaisy Designs Etsy shop!

Card making is such a wonderful way to share creativity while sending something meaningful and handmade. Whether you're getting an early start on Halloween projects or adding to your Christmas card stash, I hope today's cards inspire you to spend some happy time creating.

Fun Patterned Paper Hack

The F4All Challenge this week is all about patterned paper—and do I have a fun way to use it! I started with a 6x6 sheet of Halloween paper from SweetMissDaisy Designs called Ghostly. By simply folding the paper in half, I created a 3" x 6" card base. Since the paper is double-sided, there’s a surprise patterned inside, too!

On the front, I layered a panel cut to 5 5/8" x 2 5/8" for my image. The star of the card is the pumpkin trick-or-treater from the SweetMissDaisy Designs Trick or Treat stamp set. I colored him in playful shades of blue, purple, and green—topped off with a bright orange pumpkin head, of course! To set the spooky scene, I stamped part of a spiderweb in the corner and dangled a creepy-cute spider from it.

Adding the sentiment was bittersweet. It reads, “Trick or Treat, Smell my feet, give me something good to eat.” A relative I grew up with used to say this every Halloween, and while he’s no longer with us, the memory brings a smile to my face and a little laughter to my heart.

For the inside, I added a coordinating layer on the right side of the fold and stamped a bat along with some twinkly star sparkles, while leaving plenty of space for a handwritten message.

Always fun to play along with the colors or theme from the Art Nudge blog! The challenge encourages any art form, simply make art, following the prompts, link your project in the blog post and you just might win a prize!

This card was such a joy to make, and it’s the perfect kickoff to a creative weekend. Tomorrow is not only World Cardmaking Day, but also the October SweetMissDaisy Release Day! Be sure to stop by and see what’s new—you won’t want to miss it.

So tell me… do you have any plans for World Cardmaking Day?

Fall Fun

 Hello friends!

We have a fun F4A Challenge this week at Splitcoaststampers: Geometric Shapes!

My funny little pumpkin-head trick-or-treater from Trick or Treat by SweetMissDaisy Designs is practically a study in geometry. He’s topped with a triangular party hat, has a circular pumpkin head, and even his shorts look like little squares with a plaid design! To make sure I really hit the challenge prompt, I also added a triangle of plaid patterned paper at the top of my card.

For the details, I used the Precision Glue Press to add the tiniest border, then pulled out a triangle from the Creative Corners to help line up my sentiment along the diagonal edge. The MISTI was my absolute best friend here—it made stamping the three dangling spiders from the Open if You Dare set perfectly even, and it gave me flawless results with the little star-sparkle image every time. (A small stamp like that is so easy to mis-stamp by hand, and no one wants to start over after that!)

I finished my dapper pumpkin-head guy in oranges and blues—he looks ready to party! 🎃✨

Scarecrows, Spooks, and Snowmen—Oh My!

It’s Release Day at SweetMissDaisy Designs, and this one is hauntingly fangtastic! 🦇🎃

The new release includes three Halloween/harvest stamp sets, a sweet snowman set, and three gorgeous fall paper packs. You can peek at everything now in the SweetMissDaisy Designs Etsy shop.

I have three cards to share today, each one inspired by a different challenge and a different set from the release:

🍂  Happy Harvest
This handsome scarecrow from the Happy Harvest set is a SweeetMissDaisy Designs/Serendipity Stamps Partnership! I gave him a warm plaid background from the Harvest Mini Gingham paper pack. Since the Splitcoaststampers F4A811 challenge is “Brown,” I colored his shirt in shades of brown and tucked the same tone into his pumpkins and hat. A bat and moon float above, and the golden ribbon with a pumpkin charm ties it all together. Inspired by #ArtNudge 925B + F4A811.

👻 Open if You Dare

Boo! This card features three of the four adorable Halloween faces from the Open if You Dare set. I stamped them on tags, tucked the tags into a slotted die cut, and added the “boo” sentiment on a round die cut. The background paper is from the Halloween Mini Gingham paper pack. Inspired by #ArtNudge 925A. These faces are too cute to spook!

❄️ Umbrella Snowman

Oh, how I love this snowlady! The Umbrella Snowman set (SweetMissDaisy Designs + Serendipity Stamps) was such fun to play with. She’s holding a bright red umbrella trimmed in gold. The set includes extra snow, so I scattered flakes around the scene for a wintery look. The golden plaid background paper is from the Harvest Mini Gingham paper pack.  Inspired by a set of ornaments in the SCS Inspiration Challenge today.

Each of these sets is just brimming with charm, and I can’t wait to see what you create with them, too. 💕

Halloween Fun - IO Halloween Hop Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Halloween Hop!

Today I am featuring Halloween Fun paper! I used the adorable Thermos and Mugs set for the cup die. I placed the dies on the paper so the skulls would be the focal point of the cups. Viola! I made Halloween cups from a Thermos die! (only 4 sets left in the store!) I used a Stitched Slimline Layer as a layering piece in the background. This die set and the Stitched Slimline Layers 2 are perfect for adding layers to Slimline and A2 designs!

There are now deeper discounts on most items in the store!

Once again, I used the Halloween Fun paper in the background for this cute pumpkin kitty. The kitty is from the Jack O' Kitty set, and there are matching dies for this set! The spider and web are from the Creepy Kitty set and have a Matching Die set!

Lastly, Ghouls just wanna have fun! I used the Rounded Corner Sentiments 1 to create a shelf for a monster to hang from. This cute Monster Set also has a Matching Die set!

Hugh B. Next - IO Halloween Theme Day

Hello and welcome to this month's Halloween Theme Day!

Today's card features the new Zombie Treats stamp set. I like how the tombstone images perfectly fit the punny sentiments. This set makes Halloween cards a snap to make!
First, I made spooky green clouds with the Clouds Grass Scene Stencil. Next, I stamped the image. I included a piece of paper from Monster Prints for the background and used the Crazy Stitched Set for the image layer.

Happy Monstering - IO August Release Hop

Hello and welcome to the August Impression Obsession Release Hop!

This first day is all about the August monsters! Please stop by all three days since there is a wide variety of beautiful products this month!

This post can't contain all the fantastic new items for August, so click HERE to see everything new!

The new Layered Candy Corn Stencil is so much fun to use. This is a 3-layer stencil set that makes a fantastic background. I made a blue monster with the Fuzzy Monster 2 Die and l placed him on a Rounded Rectangle 1 layer. I used the Monster Colors Paper pack for monster body parts. Isn't it fun that the paper looks like fur?! Using the Little Monster stamp set, I stamped the sentiment on the speech bubble.

This sentiment cracked me up! The Zombie Treats set includes two tombstones and several punny sentiments to stamp on them! The background paper is from the black and white paper pack, Monster Prints. I also used the fun "eek" from the Word Charms Die set and a circle from the Small Tags Die.

This month's release is not just about monsters, we have back-to-school, Fall sets, and much more! I used the Apple for Teacher stamp set on this last card. I stamped the apple and had fun coloring.  The sentiment is included in the set and I stamped it on a Small Tag.  I used a deep turquoise-blue base and Woodgrain Frame in contrast to the bright red of the apple

This card is also for this week's F4ALL Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

Frankly, I am Shocked!

Hello!  It's Theme Day at IO, and frankly, I am shocked it's Monday already!  Hehe.  When I saw this fun sentiment from Jeanne's Monster Sayings set, I couldn't wait to make a Frankie!  I had fun using elements from the Monster Face set to create my Frank.  For his hair, I used the Edges 1 Die set.  I like Edges 1 and  Edges 2 not just for monsters but for all kinds of project edges!  I also used my most often used die set for sentiments, Rounded Rectangle Layers

Stop by the Impression Obsession blog for a list of Halloween projects by participating DT members.

Fun Fact:
It's my 12th-year blog anniversary today!
Thanks so much for stopping by through the years!!!

Trick or Treat - August Team Favorites

**Affiliate links used when possible at no charge to you**

It's Team Favorites! I had so many favorites from this month that it's hard to decide which one to feature, but here is a fun pumpkin card.

I love stapling my ribbons to tags as it keeps the bulk slightly flatter than a big knot. For this one, I added several ribbons. The Stamp set used is Halloween Girls; the background is from the Trick or Treat paper pack. I stamped directly on the Bread Tag and added the sentiment on a Rounded Rectangle Layer.
