Winter Greetings - December IO Kit Hop

Hello and welcome to the December IO Kit Hop and Giveaway!

Since creating winter cards is my favorite theme, I thoroughly enjoyed the December Limited Edition Kit.

This image is wonderfully versatile.  It looks beautiful in tones of blue and pink for a frosty look.  It's just as striking in earth tones for a more southern winter look!

I am featuring the vertical sentiment with patterned paper for my next card.

Not Really But It's a Pretty Sentiment

Hello!

It's time for a new Fan Club Christmas Challenge at SCS.  We have had such a fun year of challenges, and I am a little sad to see the theme end. I can't mention what the challenge is but we would love it if you joined us!  SCS is such a fun community for paper crafters!

***affiliate links used when possible at no cost to you***

I used the November Limited Edition kit for this card.  It's only available through December and then it will be gone.  I layered lovely pieces of patterned paper from the Winter Fun Paper Pack.  Lastly, I finished off the card with sprigs of Mistletoe.

I can't wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment.  I have lived in the south too long.  However, since we rarely get snow it's fun to see a tiny bit of the white stuff now and then. The state snowplow (the sun) usually warms up the ground quickly, making snowy experiences short.

Snowy weather was an exciting time when our children were young!   We anxiously watched the tv to hear our school was closed.  Later on, it was the automated phone call we couldn't wait to receive!   Those were the BEST days!     The kids would tramp back and forth outside and in.  Our winter gear was laughable and did very little to keep fingers and toes dry and warm.  The kids would come in and warm up; I would find another pair of dry gloves and out they went again!

Ah, well, one is married now and the other is in college so no more snow day excitement for us.  Just snowy cards to create.  :)

Warm hugs!

Have a wonderful day!

Hi!  This week the IO Team is focusing on Dies.

I love the brand new Kokopelli die.   I added a second die cut in black for a bit of a shadow on this card.  The sentiment is from Colorful Seasons and I used one of the dies from the Rounded Rectangle Layers

Featured on today's card!

The next is a bright and cheerful card.  It should cheer the bug right out of someone who is ill!  I stamped the Art Noveau Background stamp in Chartreuse ink on yellow cardstock.  The fun border is actually a Cloud Border.  The bug and sentiment are from Nola's new Get Well Soon set.

Peace on Earth & Happy Veteran's Day

This week's F4All Challenge at SCS is Peace.  Wishing peace for all our Veterans on this day that we set aside to remember their sacrifice.

For our challenge, we can use anything that says "peace" to us.  I have a lovely Christmas set that I haven't used much so I went with a Christmas card.  I had a watercolor panel that I planned to use for the challenge but ended up getting ink all over it at the last minute.  Sigh.  I am so grateful for the beautiful IO paper packs!  I would call this an express card as I finished it in record time.  :)

A Cookie in Each Hand - IO Theme Day - In the Kitchen

This week we are "In the Kitchen" for the Impression Obsession Theme Day!

I have fond memories of all the cookies my mom would bake at Christmas. My mom would make a wide variety of cookies during the season.  We would snack on them while watching Christmas specials.  So much fun!  One particular Christmas, I remember she stored all the cookies in coffee tins to keep them fresh.  Mom made sugar cookies with mint icing, spritz cookies, raspberry-filled cookies, and more.  The only problem was they all ended up tasting like coffee!  Mint icing with coffee flavor, umm...not so yummy.  However, great memories were made!

Cold Outside - IO Limited Edition November Kit & Giveaway

***Affiliate links are used when possible. Thanks so much!***

Hello, it's day 2 of the November Limited Edition Kit Blog Hop! The November Kit is such a fun set for creating winter projects.

I have been enjoying the new paper packs at IO.  I love how they can be used to create quick yet eye-catching projects.  For this card, I used the Winter Scenes paper pack.  I paired it with a sentiment from the November Kit.

Snow Fun - November Limited Edition Kit Hop & Giveaway

***Affiliate links are used when possible. Thanks so much!***

Hello and welcome to the November Limited Edition Kit Blog Hop! The November Kit is such a fun set for creating winter projects.

I love this happy trio of snowpeople! First, I created an ink-blended background splattered with snow. Then, I added a sentiment on a Rounded Rectangle.  A ribbon finished off the card.

For my next card, I colored this cutie in pink!  I used the Large Frame and added Country Snowflakes.  Once again, I used a Rounded Rectangle for the sentiment.

On November 1st & 2nd, the Impression Obsession Team will be sharing projects with the NEW November Limited Edition Kit. You will find a list of participants on the Impression Obsession Blog each day.

We will be giving away two Impression Obsession Grab Bags for the event, so the more you comment through our Kit Release Celebration the more chances to win!

Black and Teal MISTI Magic

Hello, everyone, I am featuring a couple of cards today on the My Sweet Petunia Blog.  In previous posts I have mentioned how much I love having more than one MISTI; today, I will show why.

For a full look at the cards, I created head over to the My Sweet Petunia Blog (linked above).

In my new Teal MISTI, I stamped the sentiment.

In the Black MISTI, I stamped leaves randomly around the sentiment.

The first card I created with this method is the orange one pictured below.  Because the sentiment stamp was still in the first MISTI, it was easy to create another card inspired by the TEAL MISTI!  :)

A Free 4 All with Dies

This week for the Free 4 All Challenge at SCS we are creating with dies!

I had a lot of fun mixing up some Christmas cheer with the new Mixer Die set.  The background is scored and then swiped with an ink pad.  Then, I die-cut the Tag With Lace from a piece of Homespun Floral Christmas paper.  Next, I stamped a sentiment from the Christmas Baking set onto a Rounded Rectangle Layer.  To finish off the card, I created a bow with the Small Layered Bow.   Fun and easy!

We would love to see your die-cut creations at the SCS F4ALL Challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Christmas Treats & More for Day 2 - IO October Release & Giveaway Hop

Hello, and welcome to Day 2 of the Impression Obsession October Release Blog Hop!

I hope you enjoyed yesterday's Release samples! I had so much fun featuring Christmas and birthday cards yesterday that I am back today with more Christmas and birthday! You can find the blog hop details listed below.

*** Affiliate links used in this post.  When you shop through my links I receive compensation at no cost to you. Thank you so very much!***

I cannot lie, I love creating coffee cards, and Impression Obsession has a wide array of coffee dies to choose from.  There is even a small coffee cup in this month's Seasonal Cupcake Topper Die set! I decided to feature the Coffee To Go set on this card.  First, I created a background by ink-blending the center.  Then I splattered it with water. Next, I added a trio of Country Snowflakes.  Lastly, the fun Christmas Coffee Saying was stamped onto a Rounded Rectangle Layer.

Next, I am featuring the jumbo Cupcake die set.  This die set offers loads of possibilities.  I made a Christmas cupcake paper from the Homespun Christmas Paper pack.  Then I added die-cut pieces from the Seasonal Cupcake Topper Die set. I   used this sentiment from the Christmas Baking set because I love watching Christmas movies!  Once again, I stamped the sentiment on a Rounded Rectangle Layer.

This last card features many of the items used on my previous card. Are you as hungry for a cupcake as I am?  The fun thing about paper cupcakes is that they are zero calories.  Also, they are easier to create than baking cupcakes, in my opinion!   Here's what I used for this cupcake creation!
