A Breath of Winter

It's the first of October even if it doesn't feel like it!  It was 94 degrees here yesterday.  Shaking my head! The bright side to this lonnnnnngggg summer is it makes for great winter cardmaking!  Creating snowmen scenes is like a breath of winter on a scorching day!

The first of the month means the new Splitcoaststampers Fan Club Christmas Challenge is live and here's my card for the challenge.  I can't tell you the details of the challenge but you can find all the info here.  If you are not a Fan Club Member you can get all the details HERE.

I used a combination of this cute Christmas set with coordinating dies and this sweet Christmas set with coordinating dies by Picket Fence Studios.  I just love creating with the dies as they make building scenes a snap without having to mask or fussy cut.

Have a wonderfully crafty day!

Thanks and a Celebration

This card came about because my very sweet friend Janine, sent this beautiful stamp to me recently.  It's truly a gorgeous stamp featuring the beautiful flowers and inspiring sentiments on both the left and right side of the image.  I chose to use only a portion of the stamp because I played along with the FB AAA CAS Card Challenge - Weekend Workout. The challenge was to use only one stamp and no embellishments so it was fun that I had a brand new stamp that has the sentiment built in!

I was delighted to see that this week's Featured Stamper at SCS this week is Rebekah!  I have known her since I first visited SCS many years ago so it is extra special to celebrate her with a card.  Here is my card gallery if you would like to check out which card of Rebekah's I chose to CASE.

Peace and Good Will

Hi!  It's Saturday and that means it's time to get inspired by pretty photos!  Brenda is our hostess for the Inspiration Challenge this week and she has chosen a very fun site for us!   I found this photo.  My die is a Quilted Bell instead of an ornament but the graphic lines of the flag made me think of this fun die.  I added background papers similar to the background of the flag and my bell has a big red bow just as in the flag!  The sentiment is from Typewriter Sentiments.

I am also going to enter this in Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely weekend!

Impression Obsession - Die Cut Obsession

Today on the Impression Obsession Blog the DT are sharing projects created with mostly Die-cuts.  I really love creating with die-cuts.  They strike a chord for me similar to playing with paper dolls as a child only far better because I get to choose colors and papers!

For this card, I chose the fabulous Large Frame and then I created the lion to look as if he is just about to jump out of the frame!  He has such a sweet look on his face, I am sure he is harmless!  The sentiment is from Card Sentiments.  I shortened the sentiment by removing the second happy and cut it apart.

This is also for this week's Featured Stamper Challenge at SCS.

Never Give Up

Stacy is this week's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. She has chosen a site which has grown from a floral shop to shop that also creates coordinating gifts and even home decor!  You can check out my inspiration HERE.

I used this sweet candle stencil and the gorgeous Deco Foil Metallix Gel. This Gel is so cool because it dries pliable and not brittle so that if you bend the card it doesn't crack!  It also has a gorgeous metallic shine!  Another wonderful thing about this Gel is that it's made right here in the US!
Next, I die cut the Never word die.  I love that this die set includes the bubble background which helps the word stand out!  For the stamped sentiment I masked off the first part of the sentiment and stamped only the "give up hope" to go with "Never".

Inspired Get Well

Hi!  Happy Friday to you! I am over on the Picket Fence Studios Blog today!

Occasionally, when I see a new stamp or die I see something a little different than the designer intended.  That's what happened to me when I saw the Cobblestone Path stamp.  I immediately saw stained glass windows and arches!  I placed the stamp on my MISTI and inked it in Nautical Blue then spritzed it with water.  Next, I stamped it on cardstock.   I actually created about three backgrounds because I liked the look so much. They were all slightly different depending on how much water I used.
Lastly, I wanted to feature as much of the beautiful pattern as possible so I added the encouraging  get well sentiment.

My visit to the Monastery of the Holy Spirit several years ago is what inspired the abstract vision for my card.

A New Challenge - Pumpkin Spice

I am always excited when a new Impression Obsession Challenge rolls around because it means we get to see what Impression Obsession fans create!

The new challenge is Pumpkin Spice.  Create a card with pumpkins or coffee.

I am an all-in kind of girl so I added both!  I cannot lie, this card makes me long for a Salted Caramel Frappuccino!  I love this crazy stitched set for my backgrounds and I use it often!  I brushed color on a sheet of cardstock in an ombre pattern and then die cut the cups and pumpkin from the coffee and cocoa set. The cute heart spoons are included in this set!  I tucked the spoons in the whipped cream! Lastly, I added a greeting from the Serendipity Seasons set

Now it's your turn to play along with the challenge!  Head on over to the Impression Obsession blog to see all the challenge samples from the design team and details on entering the challenge. You can enter to win a $25 gift certificate from IO by linking up your "All About Love" card.   The winning project will be chosen at random and will be showcased on the IO blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you in the IO challenge link up!

With this card I was going for a Fall CAS look for the AAA October CAS Lottery is Coffee!

The Free 4 All challenge at SCS is celebrating 500 this week and the challenge is Pumpkin Spice!  I hope you will join us for the challenge at Splitcoaststampers as well!

Impression Obsession - Merry Winter Release & Giveaway Day 2

Hi and welcome to the Impression Obsession Winter Die Release Celebration!
The Impression Obsession Winter Die Release Celebration starts today! Each day (September 16th/September 17th ) you can find a list of participants on the Impression Obsession Blog at 6am. Every single blog will have a $25 gift certificate to give away for the event - so the more you comment through our Release Celebration the more chances to win! All comments for all of the event days will be open until Thursday, September 19th at midnight CT. All winners will be announced on Friday, September 20th.
I hope you enjoyed yesterdays projects and now on to more winter fun!

For the background, I used a reverse die which makes excellent falling snow!  The snowman is adorable and his accessories are so cute.  The little holly leaves are the only pieces that are not included the snowman sets, it's part of the Gingerbread set!  Lastly, I added just the Merry from the Merry Christmas sentiment.

Next up is this fun card in fabulous jewel tones!  I used the stitched tag which has a cute tab to strengthen the ribbon hole.  I adhered a doily from this trio and then added the stocking.  I did a little creative cutting on the word Enjoy from the Typewriter Sentiment set and adhered it to the back of the sentiment banner from the Crazy Stitched Set.

For my last project, I die cut branches from the new winter foliage set and made my tin soldier into a tree ornament.  The soldier comes together quick and easy and would make fabulous ornaments for a real tree!  And since a hanger is built into the background layer of the soldier it's a snap to add some twine to hang it!  So cute.  To finish off the project I add Merry Christmas from the typewriter set and once again, I love that the letters are connected and I didn't have to try and piece the letters together and make a straight line with them!

I hope you enjoyed seeing day 2 projects as much as I enjoyed creating them! Make sure to stop by Anna's blog, she is NEXT and she is the designer of all the cute items I featured today!

Impression Obsession - Merry Winter Release & Giveaway

Hi and welcome to the Impression Obsession Winter Die Release Celebration!

First up I created a card not quite ready for winter! The coffee & cocoa set is so cute because it comes with two cups! That means you can create a card to celebrate a friend with maybe a pumpkin spice and chocolate latte or a cup of cocoa! I have become obsessed with this large stitched frame! So much so that I almost showed three cards today ALL using the frame but I decided to save one for tomorrow, so you must come back and see! :) The word die comes in a set of typewriter-style sentiments. To me, they are a pleasure to create with because the block letters are connected!
(With this card, I am celebrating Fall with the CAS Challenge at SCS!)

Next up is the oh, so darling Gingerbread people and their accessories!  Oh, it's fun to dress them up!  A cute couple like this needs to have a framed photo on the mantel to remember their first Christmas so I used the large stitched frame.

Next up I am featuring gorgeous chunky candles! We celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve with a fondue supper and lots of candles so I had fun recreating our table with these sweet paper candles! I love the little wick and flame and the melted wax dripping down!  The set includes the sweet little candle holders.  I added greenery with the winter foliage set which overflows with winter greens.  Next, I placed the candles on beautiful doilies!  Lastly, I stamped a simple Merry Christmas.
