Speedy Fox & Friends 140 - Tissue Paper

Good morning!!!  I hope you have been enjoying the holidays!  Except for missing my husband (he has to work this year) it's been a relaxing week at our house!  I didn't think I could stay away from my craft room but I ended up taking 5 days off!!  With a Speedy Fox & Friends challenge on Saturday I went back to the craft room to see what I could create with tissue paper!  We hope you will join in the fun this week at Speedy Fox & Friends  and use tissue paper on your craft project!

I used the stamp set "Just a Note" for the focal point and the sentiment.  This has  become one of my favorite sets!!!  I made a couple of tissue flowers but ended up using just this one and added a gem to the middle.     I also wanted to try the "cracked glass" technique again. I had a new embossing powder that was thicker but not quite as think as UTEE.  I only need 3 coats of the powder this time instead of the 4 with my regular transparent EP.

A close up shows the tiny ribbon I placed on the strip of flower DP  but then ended up covering most of it with the sentiment!!!!  You can see a little more of the cracking here too.

Thanks so much for looking and enjoy this last weekend in 2012!!!

FOSTV 52 - Cracked Glass

Merry Christmas Eve!!!  Today is our Christmas Day....confused?  Me too!  :)  My husband works tomorrow and has to get up at 3:30 in the morning and since we celebrate on Christmas Eve into the wee hours we decided to move our holiday back a day.  We celebrated on Sunday with our Cheese Fondue and Chocolate Fondue and moved over to gift opening.  Short and Sweet this year with the kids growing up and husband on a bedtime deadline.  Still it was an evening to treasure!!!  I hope your holidays are special in whatever ways you celebrate them!

Our  FOSTV challenge this week is Cracked Glass.  I bought some "crackle accents" for my project but it really didn't work out like I wanted so I looked up a tutorial!  LOL you know the old adage...if you can't get it to work try the directions!  Here are a couple of tutorials you can check out:   Davi's tutorial  or   Chris's tutorial .  I did use the "crackle accents" on the butterflies and they look nice and crackled!!!  I look forward to seeing  your project linked up here!

I used the new stamp set Ivy & Blossoms for my focal point.  I think the ivy in this stamp set is just gorgeous!  The cracks in the "glass" are there but it's difficult to see in this photo.  My next photo shows it off better.

If you play in this week's challenge you will be entered in a drawing to win "Ice & Snow pictured below.

Speedy Fox & Friends 139 - Sun & Clouds

Happy weekend!  It's the last couple of days before Christmas and I hope you aren't out shopping because it's going to be crazy out there!  Hopefully you are comfy cozy and are eager to play in Speedy Fox & Friends challenge to use Sun & Clouds on your project!

Here is my project.  I used the sentiment from MFP a Heinrich Co. "Bring on the Sun"

I think I am going to put a "thank you" on the inside of the card and send it to MN for our Christmas thank you.  I think they would probably enjoy seeing a bit of sun in January!

Wow!  What a fabulous week!  I hope you have had fun hopping along all week with us!  Today I have a card to share with you using the new stamp set " Kilt Fun".

I stamped the "kilt" pattern onto card stock in green ink, then drew black lines in the "fabric" .  I finished off the look by sponging green onto the kilt.  I decided to change it up a bit and die cut a circle out of the stamped image.  Popped up the Scottie dog and gave him a red bow.

Today's feature is a fun set that can be used to make one of a kind  Recipe cards.  I decided to go the card route today and used the fun birthday sentiment that is included in the set.

I cut a square of DP and then cut it into a triangle.  I folded over the edge and glued the edge onto Mark's Finest Paper 140lb Premium White Card stock to soften the edge a bit and give it some dimension.  I colored and fussy cut the bowl and the sifter.  I popped them at the top but glued the lower portion of the images to the table cloth.

Another shot to view how the table cloth flows away from the card.

Thanks for looking!  Don't forget to hop along to the rest of the team's blogs to see what they have created for you!

"Oh Beans" is our feature today!  I was working on the card and decided to make a tag to with it when I was struck with an "aha" moment!  I realized that if I bought some coffee I could make a cute set for my SIL!
So here is my take on "Oh Beans"

For the card I stamped first on yellow DP then I stamped a second time on the DP and cut three cups out and paper pieced them.  I made a little sleeve for around the coffee to attach the tag too.  I randomly stamped beans on a 3 in. wide strip of card stock and punched out a lacey border.
I think the tag turned out so cute!!!  I cut some of the flowers out of the DP I used in the card and attached them randomly to the cup.  A couple of flourish pieces cut from a large flourish works well for steam!

The inside of the card holds a bit of money so that she can go to her favorite coffee shop!

Thanks for looking!  Have a great day!

Welcome to day 1 of the December Hop!!!  First up is my card using the beautiful detailed Ivy stamp.

A close up view.  I stamped the flowers on a separate piece of card stock colored them, cut them out and placed them  randomly in the vines.

I made a post-it note holder using the triple flower stamp that comes with the set.

The inside....I stamped some flowers in the corners of some of the note sheets.

Thanks so much for looking!  Don't forget to check out the rest of the teams lovely designs!!!

FOSTV 51- Happy Holidays

To view the sneak peek of MFP a HC Special set and mini set scroll down.

Welcome to this week's FOSTV challenge!  This week's challenge is "Happy Holidays".   You can find all the information and  the DT inspiration HERE .

I kept my card fairly simple.  I was playing just a little bit over at Splitcoaststampers this weekend and one of their VSN challenges was a photo inspiration of a traditional Christmas look so this is what I came up with.   I just keep going back to the stamp set "Winter Scenes" for my Christmas cards this year and that is where I found my sentiment!

Thanks for looking and have a great week!!!!!

MFP a Heinrich Co. December Feature Presentation

Good morning!!!!  We have a fun week planned at MFP a Heinrich Co. including Special sets, FOSTV challenge and December blog hop so I hope you will stop by every day and see what's new!!!

Today I get to share the Special stamp set and the min stamp set.

First up is "You've Got Style".  This is a super cute set for that stylish friend in your life!!!

Ok, so I have to warn you....my FAVE gift giving item this season is a post-it note pad in a pretty holder.   The post it note holders are a fun addition to a gift so you are going to see quite a few of these from me this week as I have been including these in many gift bags!

Group shot

I actually had to go back and rephotograph this card because when I was done with the note holder I realized fancy shoes and purse such as these must have bling! The flourish and card stock look black but it's actually a lovely dark blue.

A close up of the bling on the shoes and purse.

The post it note holder has plenty of bling on it too!

A view to see how the post-it note sits inside the cover.

The second set I have to share with you is this month's mini, "Recipe Completer".

Here is a close up of the card.  I used the weekly sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers  SC414 for my design.  I changed it up a bit turning my card sideways and I left off the circle so we could see the fun kitchen DP.

I included my FAVORITE  chocolate frosting recipe as the inside of my card.  If you are in the habit of buying chocolate frosting off the grocery store shelf, I give you fair warning, if you try this recipe you won't ever be able to eat store bought again!
A close up of the post it note cover.

Thanks so much for looking!  I hope you will hop on over to Speedy Fox & Friends and check out what my teammates have to share with you today!
