Thinking of You

Hi!  Today is the last day of the first month of 2013!  Can you believe it?

A friend suggested the idea of creating a blog post on the last day of the month with a main theme.  A fun way to encourage each other to blog an to see everyone's talent!  Our theme this month is, "Thinking of You".

I had fun pulling out a gazebo die that my sister bought me for my birthday.  She was so sweet.  She is not a paper crafter but always asks me about my paper pursuits!  She spent over an hour with me on the phone going through pages of dies on the "Chic and Savvy Crafters" website.  Whenever I would say, "oooh I like that one" she would put it into a wish list and then when we hung up she chose quite a few goodies from the list to send me... she went OVER the amount I thought we agreed upon, I might add!

Christmas Card Challenge

Happy Monday!!  I have two Christmas Cards to share this morning.  These complete my goal for January and just in the nick of time too!

To create these cards I used  gorgeous die cuts a friend let me play with!  They were fun to use and the cards came together quickly!

Inside using sentiment from MFP a HC "Poinsettia Blooms"

For this card I used DP for my sky.  The fun note about this card is that the DP actually has  a faint impression of waves!
The inside:
Sentiment is also from "Poinsettia Blooms".

I am entering these cards in the following challenge:

Hello!  It's Saturday and time for Speedy Fox & Friends challenge.  This week we are doodling a frame.  I hope you will join us for the challenge this week.  To see all the doodle art and enter the challenge click HERE .

I used the newly released "Love, Love, Love" from MFP a Heinrich Co. for the heart image and the sentiment.  I doodled some lines...and then added some dots for my frame.

Love, Love, Love
Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

Supplies used: Stamp: MFP a HC - Love, Love, Love.  Paper: MFP a HC Premium 140lb White. Ink Tim Holtz Broken China.

Sympathy

We received sad news this week.  My husband's uncle passed away quite suddenly.  We haven't seen them in several years but a sudden loss is always sad.  My husband asked me if I would make a few sympathy cards so I put aside my "to do" list and went to work.  This card is for my husband's cousin.  I wasn't exactly certain how to design a masculine sympathy card but with a little help from, "CAS(E) this Sketch"  I think it turned out ok.

I created the buttons with my Sizzix "Button Die" from a coffee sleeve then glazed the buttons with Glossy Accents tied some baker's twine and I had a (hopefully masculine) element needed for the sketch.

Thanks for Looking.

A Christmas Card in Non-Traditional Colors

Hi!  Last year I joined the Christmas Card Challenge at Splitcoaststampers and set my goal at 5 cards per month.  It was an interesting experience.  Creating a card with snow on it, when it's 90 degrees and high humidity outside is, well, a little odd!  What wasn't odd, was opening a box of over 60 Christmas cards on Dec. 1st and being able to give a handmade card to people that would not usually get one from me!  That was FUN!  So now and then when you least expect it a Christmas card will pop up on my blog!

To create my card I used the Paper Players sketch:

Speedy Fox & Friends 143 - Twine

Happy Saturday!  It's been a fun week at MFP a HC showcasing the new releases.  Today I am sharing a card created for Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge to use twine.  To see my teammates  fabulous designs and get all the information on how you can play in the challenge with a chance to win a stamp set click Here .

I had fun with this challenge and was surprised how quickly the card came together.  I punched out the three hearts and on the long ones stamped  the "Love" sentiment from MFP a HC - Love, Love, Love.  I then hung them on twine!  The "Happy Valentine" sentiment is from the same set.

For the inside I played around with the "border" stamp. (it's on the left side of the stamp set pictured at the bottom of this post)   One of the fun things about clear cling stamps is that you can bend them and shape them.  I shaped the long string border into an oval to frame the sentiment.

Thanks for looking and I hope you will play along with the challenge this week!

Welcome to the last day of the Hop!  I hope you have been inspired all week!  I have several photos to show you!  Be prepared for a change in color and style for my last projects!

I used the Emboss Resist technique for the Rose then fussy cut it and popped it up on sticky foam.

The Inside:

I made my own tag since I don't have a tag die yet, but I think I might be rectifying that situation soon!  I asked DH for dies for my anniversary present!
Again I used the Emboss Resist technique for the heart.

The Inside:

The first projects were created with my color preference and style in mind but this next one was made in hopes of pleasing my tween!  She loves the trendy mustache and pink is NOT her color.  I wish I had some purple crafting tape because I know she would love that but I am hoping I have a hit with the green!

In between the crafting tape strips I stamped the
 "border" stamp three times.
The inside: I used the checked heart and the "Love" sentiment
What's a Valentine, without a little candy
right?  Here is a little treat bag to go with
the card.

Hi and welcome to day 3 of  the Hop!  Have you enjoyed the week so far?

Today's feature is, "In My Den".  A great set to create a reminder to take some time to RELAX!

I enjoy using my stamps in different ways so for this card  I stamped the globe and cut  out just the map and placed it in a "picture frame" to make wall decor.

For the inside.....I created a stack of books. The middle book in the stack has the paper pieced title  "relax" from one of the sentiment stamps from this set.

In My Den

Thanks for looking!  Don't forget to check out the rest of my teammates beautiful creations and you just might win today's stamp set just for leaving a comment!  I hope you are able to take a few minutes and relax!!!  See you tomorrow!

Welcome to day one of Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. blog hop!  Our stamp set today is "Fantastic Dogs".  I have two cards to share today.

For the sentiment I used the "word" collage stamp and masked off everything except for the words "Best Friend".

For the inside I took the "word" collage stamp and made my own background paper.  Here's one of the fun things about working with paper and ink.  At the top right corner I didn't press evenly so I didn't get a full impression.  I could have left it but by adding my "white space" for my note and signature at the top, not only do I add a little interest to the inside but I covered up the little section that didn't receive a full stamped image and no one's the wiser....well...except for you now!!!

My second card was inspired by the post on fb by my nephew mentioning that his dog, Crash turned 3 last week.  I took the sassy sentiment "no bones about it!" "You're Old" and left off the "old" and placed a chipboard "3" and viola!  We have a birthday card for 3 year old Crash!

A simple inside.  The Happy Birthday sentiment came from MFP a Heinrich Co. "Wild Horses"

Thanks for looking!  I hope you will keep hopping and commenting so you can see all my teammates fabulous creations and have a chance to win today's release!
