New Mercies

Good Sunday to you!
Of all the scriptures I think on regularly this one is probably my most frequent.

Lamentations 3:22-23
23 They (His Mercies) are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

I am so thankful for the new mercies every morning and a fresh start each day!  With that thought in mind I reached for Sweet 'N Sassy's New Creature Clear Stamp set to feature on my Sunday post.

I sponged distress ink over two stencils for the base then swished paper through distress ink spritzed with water for the butterflies.

Did you know that the New Creature stamp set now has a coordinating die set?

Thanks for looking and have a great Sunday!

Dance in the Rain or Tortoise of Course

Hello and Happy Friday to you!

I hope you are finishing up projects and getting ready for some relaxation or at least a change of scene this weekend!

I played along with Splitcoaststampers WT524 Challenge yesterday.  Linda asked us if we are the tortoise or the hare when we create for this week's "Ways To Use It" Challenge.  I know it's really hard to believe (well the friends that have stamped with me, won't be a bit surprised) but I was a Tortoise of Course with this CAS card! It took me 1:26:58:31 to be exact!

I have a nice long story all about my stamping adventure in my SCS gallery if you haven't read it yet, you might enjoy the chuckle!
I used Sweet N Sassy's adorable Windy Winnie sentiment and images and colored with Chameleon Markers.  I stamped the umbrella twice, once on the layer and one to fussy cut and pop up.
I also played along with "Freshly Made Sketches 179" but I am not going to upload it because in my craziness I FORGOT part of the sketch at the lower end.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

Splitcoaststampers Product Focus - Chameleon Color Tones Pens

Hello friends!
Today I get to share a fun project I have been working on.  I have been playing with Chameleon Color Tone Pens this month for Splitcoaststampers Product Focus Team.  I  had a blast learning all about Chameleon Pens.  Here are my samples in order of creation.

I used a circular motion when coloring Storm.  Storm was colored with just one pen: BK4

The Tulips were colored with V04.  I was impressed with the variation of shades with just the one marker.

I played around with a couple of techniques for my third project.  I didn't quite have the side to side technique down but I was getting there.  Again, all this vibrant color with just one marker: RD4

AHA!  Fourth project.  Side to Side coloring motion produced this incredible shine.  The butterfly just seems to glow!  The wings were colored with PR4.

I needed a super quick card so Chameleon marker Y03 to the rescue!  Beautiful gradation in just a few minutes.

I have had a lot of fun coloring with the markers and they will definitely be one of the coloring tools I continue to reach for when coloring.

Please hop on over to Chameleon Color Tones Pens Product Focus to get the scoop on what all the designers think about Chameleon Pens!

Beautiful Friend

Hello Friends!
We have arrived at mid week!
Only?
I feel like I have already put in a full week, how about you?
Yesterday I took a time out for a little ART therapy and this is what I came up with!

I chose Sweet N Sassy's "New Creature" stamp set and selected the larger butterfly.  What can make a beautiful butterfly image even more fun to use?  A coordinating die!!!  SNSS now has the  New Creature Die to make designing even easier!!

I colored the butterfly with Chameleon Color Tones Pen V04 to achieve seamless color gradation.

Thanks for looking and have a great rest of the week!

Easter Tulips for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps Inspiration

Happy Monday to you!
It's  gorgeous out today I hope it's beautiful where you are as well!

Today I am featuring GG0210 Easter Flowers.  One thing that I really like about this image is that the sentiment and image are all one piece of rubber which makes for a quick and easy card design!  I was inspired by the way Heidi used the PPRS-D052 Circular Pendant Die during the PPRS Release so I decided to add it here for a little pop!

I colored the image with Chameleon pens.  I was impressed with the different shades of color I was able to achieve on the flower with just one pen!   For the leaves and stems I used two pens.

I played along with Fusion Card challenge and used both the sketch and the photo for my inspiration!

TFL and please don't forget to stop by PPRS blog to see more spring inspiration from my talented teammates!

Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps - Monday Inspiration - Edith

Happy Monday!

After an interesting weekend, I am waiting for the doctor's office to open so I can get our son seen and his arm put in a cast.  While he was at a church retreat three hours away he fractured a bone in his wrist while playing kick ball.

If you had a crazy weekend like mine, here's something I hope will brighten up your Monday!   I used cheerful colors for this sweet Prickley Pear Image and sentiment: HH0174 Edith and FF0186 You Are My Sunshine.

My first plan was to center the image layer so that the pretty patterned paper was on either side but after playing with it a bit I preferred this design even though it's similar to the duckies card, I created a few weeks ago.

Thanks for looking but before you get on with your busy day I hope you will stop by PPRS blog to see all the pretty designs the DT have created for your inspiration!

Fun with Distress Inks and a little Bokeh too!

If you are looking for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps Monday Inspiration please click HERE or scroll down.

Happy Monday!  Angie, here with a Design Diva Demo where I share a couple of ways to color with Distress Inks.

To color the butterfly for this project I took a scrap of Mixed Media paper,
stamped ink on craft mat and spritzed with water.

To create gorgeous backgrounds or your own designer paper swish paper through the ink and dry with heat gun. Swish paper through the ink a second time to get more coverage which will leave a bit of ink still on craft mat.  Don't wipe that away, that's the good stuff!  After drying a second time with heat tool, flip the paper over and tap with fingers to soak up the last bits of ink.
Check out the gorgeous ink spots!
After the Distressed paper was completely dry I stamped the butterfly, added a bit more color with Distress markers, blended with an aqua brush then realized that the fabulous distress background no longer showed! Oh well, I still have a good bit of this gorgeous paper to use on another project!

I like to use this next technique when I don't wish to have my layer fully covered in ink. Stamp ink on craft mat, take an aqua brush and paint randomly on Mixed Media paper working rather quickly.

Thoroughly spritz with water and lift paper to allow ink to move and swirl then heat set.

I get a different look every time I do this.  For this project I repeated the above step again to add a little more color.
After the layer was completely dry I stamped the butterfly and colored with distress inks and aqua brush, making sure that the edges were deeply colored but not overly concerned with the middle since in the final step I adhere the fussy cut/die cut butterfly.

The Bokeh effect is all the rage right now so I thought it would be fun to add it on this card. I first saw this bokeh tecknique used by Lydia on her blog "Understand Blue". You don't need a fancy template, all you need is an unused pencil eraser!!!

Ink the eraser and stamp close to the image then without reinking the eraser stamp further away making sure that the furthest dots from the image have the least amount of ink.  It's ok to overlap them a bit too!
For my project I used the gorgeous stamp set New Creature that is part of March Sweet Perks Club Bundles.

Check out all the info on the March Sweet Perks Club Bundles HERE!

Rockin on a Monday!

Are you Rockin on this Monday?  If not maybe my three Prickley Pear Robins will cheer you up!

I am sure you can tell that I had a ball with the JJ0090 Stacked Robins stamp! For the sentiment I stamped and cut all of the words apart from  EE0207 Rockin Robin.

I hope you will hop on over to Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps Blog and see all the beautiful Spring delights my teammates have created for your viewing pleasure!
