Fall is on its way....

Oh my, can you believe it's almost August?  School starts here next week and for me, that signals an end to summer.  It's time to think Fall projects and The Project Bin has a brand new stamp set to inspire!! Creepy Halloween is a hoot and it's available in the store now!

This stamp set makes me laugh.  Every year we have large yellow spiders that spin the most interesting webs right at our front door or across our yard between trees and every year I say, "Well, we don't have to decorate for Fall, nature has done it for us!"

There is just something special about The Project Bin stamps, they look fabulous with multiple layers but are also very striking on Clean and Simple cards such as this.  I was eager to play with the new Creepy Halloween stamp set but I had very little time this week as our daughter is performing in Hairspray presented by S.T.A.R!  It's been a very exciting summer full of rehearsals culminating in three fun nights of musical performance!  It's been great fun but this mom has been on the run a great deal and a CAS card was just what I needed.  I used a wonky shape for the sentiment and placed a piece of cheese cloth behind the sentiment to give the idea of a spider web.  I drew a line for the spider and he is all set to decorate someone's home!!!

I hope you have a lovely weekend and if you are on a countdown to school days enjoy those last few moments, I know I will!!!!

This week's Featured Stamper at SCS is Angelnorth - Joanne Allison. She has an amazing gallery!!

Come and Behold Him

Hello and happy weekend to you!
Today I am sharing another Christmas card in July with The Project Bin stamps!  I love creating Christmas projects all year long, it helps keep me cool!  :)  I haven't found the time this year to work on a set amount per month so I am going to have to really get going or I will be buying a box of cards this year.

I chose this beautiful sentiment from the Joyful Song set for my focal point.  I love the pretty design of this sentiment.  It's a show stopper!

I adhered the white and gold foil designer paper layers on heavy weight blue cardstock and stamped the sentiment in the same shade as the cardstock.

I would love to know if you create your Christmas cards all year or create them all at once.

The Project Bin Christmas in July Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome back to day 2 of The Project Bin’s Christmas in July Blog Hop!  After 2 full days of The Project Bin’s holiday hop, you’ll probably have so many ideas, you can already start your Christmas list!
If you are hopping along, you should have arrived here from The Project Bin blog!  If you get lost along the way, or started somewhere in the middle, follow the candy cane trail back to The Project Bin inspiration blog.  You won’t want to miss the creativity along the way and remember:  2 lucky winners have the chance of winning one of the 2 generous gift certificates to shop at The Project Bin store!  Woohoo!

For today’s holiday inspiration, I’ve created for you a gift bag and coordinating card. What I love about this project is that I was able to feature a piece of 12x12 designer paper.  Since I mostly create cards the larger designs of the 12x12 paper can be problematic but it's perfect for a gift bag and card.  I was able to use one sheet for both the card and the bag.

Christmas time is such a busy time we don't always have time for lots of layers so I kept this bag super simple by featuring a lovely piece of deisgner paper, the beautiful sentiment from Joyful Song and piece of ribbon!

For the card I used the remaining portion of the designer paper and this sweet sentiment.

Next up, hop on over to  Barb Deichl‘s blog.  Be sure to leave a comment at each stop and the winners will be announced on The Project Bin blog this week.  We hope you enjoy our Christmas in July blog hop!  ♥

The Project Bin Christmas in July Blog Hop Day 1

Welcome to The Project Bin’s premiere Christmas in July Blog Hop!
We are so glad you are here!  The elves at The Project Bin have been very busy. For the next 2 days,  July 15 and 16, the design team will be showcasing the stamps and dies from the store and bringing you a handcrafted Christmas!  You’ll see Christmas cards, holiday projects and ideas to inspire creativity to jump start your holiday planning.  Our sleigh ride will take you to each designer’s blog where you can peek at what they have showcased using The Project Bin’s stamps and dies.  AND since the holidays are known for gift giving, 2 lucky winners will receive one of the 2 generous The Project Bin gift certificate giveaways to use in the store!
If you are new to The Project Bin stamps and dies, you are in for a real treat!      The Project Bin offers clear stamps and metal dies with truly something for everyone.  The hop begins at The Project Bin’s inspiration blog and has the full line up.
If you arrived from Kelly McKown-Santi's amazing blog, you are in the right place!

For my project, I created an ornament & card set featuring the sweet Joyful Song stamp set.
I love the technique of stamping ink on a craft mat, spritzing with water and swishing mixed media paper through the watery ink so I couldn't wait to get my hands on the new distress oxide inks!!  The background for my card and ornament was created with Faded Jeans and Wilted Violet Oxide inks.

I love that this sentiment curves right along with the stitched border!

For the ornament, I die cut two scalloped squares.  This not only gives the ornament more durability but I glued the back sides together so the back of the ornament is pretty too.

If I am your first stop make sure to start at The Project Bin Blog and leave a comment for each of the stops on the hop ~ you won’t want to miss it!  Be sure to come back to The Project Bin blog tomorrow to see more holiday inspiration!

Oh, Sing!

Today, I am continuing the Christmas in July theme with The Project Bin!  I am featuring the fabulous new set, Joyful Song.  I love the bold fonts of three of the sentiment stamps.  A piece of designer paper, a sentiment frame,  a few poinsettias and A Christmas card is born!

Along with three grand sentiments, The Joyful Song stamp set also includes two sentiment stamps with smaller fonts that work beautifully on the card front or the inside layer. I love how pretty the inside looks with a stamped greeting!

Joyful Song

Hello, friends! Happy Weekend to you!

Today I have a little Christmas in July to share with you!  Gulp, yes it really is July already and that means as creators of pretty things we have to get started on our holiday cards and gifts!  The Project Bin is here to help us get a head start on our projects with a  brand new Christmas stamp set and I get to share it with you today.

The font and design on the sentiments in Joyful Song are such fun!

Two of the sentiments work beautifully for the inside of the card.

For the inside of the card, I also used one of the images included in the set.  Isn't that a sweet silhouette?

My sketch today is SC651 from Splitcoaststampers.

I hope you enjoyed a little Christmas inspiration today!
