Inside Making Cards

Georgia weather likes to play tricks on us.  One day it's in the 80's then all of a sudden overnight it drops to 40's and that's cold my friends when you have been sweating just the day before!  So you dress in jeans and sweaters only for the weather to laugh at you in the afternoon as it climbs right back up and makes you roast in your sweater.  If you happen to be inside and can't turn on the heat because of a duct issue the cold will stay inside and you will shiver in your sweater only to walk outside and realize the weather has turned quite warm but didn't inform the inside of your house.  That's the kind of days we are experiencing but soon it really will get chilly and then I will be staying inside wrapped in my blanket making cards which is why I love this set of sentiments in the North Pole stamp set by The Project Bin.

I wrapped the card base in warm tartan then stamped "tis the season to be freezin" on the stitched layer.  I stamped the first envelope in the middle then masked it off and stamped two more.  I added some fun sequins and "I'll be inside..." and that was it.

Thanks for stopping by now I am off to go make some more winter cards before it gets too cold.  Once it's cold I like to make cards with cheerful flowers and butterflies to keep me warm!

Praying for You

For this week's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers Brenda chose a cozy site to inspire us.  I chose THIS fabric as my inspiration.

Some days just don't go the way we plan. I thought I had an entire day to create but instead, my husband stayed home from a trip and then our son came home unexpectedly so I ended up with only a tiny bit of time to create at the end of a full day.  Lucky for me I have the darling Like a Crafty Fox stamp set.  It's so easy to create cute and quick cards with this set!  I think this darling fox looks like she could be praying so I paired her with a sentiment from the Ways to Say Get Well stamp set.  To finish off my project I added three sequins from Witches Brew and two sparkling gems from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings

Earlier this month I created several pages of backgrounds for a swap project and ended up with a bit left over.  To create the background I stamped  Peacock Feathers Distress Ink onto plastic packaging then spritzed with water. Next, I flipped the wet inky plastic over and pressed it onto my Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper.  I did the same with Carved Pumpkin Distress ink then dried it with a heat gun.  I got a little carried away and made more backgrounds than I needed for the swap so I set a sheet aside for a future project.  Today was the future project.  The Technique Challenge at SCS this week is called Simple Self-Framing.  The framing layer is popped up on cardboard and the sentiment layer is inset.  I used the charming (Blessings) sentiment from the Eat Pie stamp set by The Project Bin then added a few sparkling enamel dots.

For the inside, I stamped another sentiment in the set and stamped the pumpkin also included in the set on a scrap of background and fussy cut it.

For a final touch, I added the Blessings sentiment to the back of the envelope!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  I hope you enjoyed today's inspiration.  Here's a look at all the fun stamps included in

God's Grace

Photo inspiration challenges spark some of my favorite cards!  Stacy is our hostess for this week's Inspiration Challenge and it is overflowing with ideas.  The Splitcoaststamper challenges are free to play so I hope you will join us!   I found my inspiration on the note card page.

When I found my inspiration I immediately thought of this beautiful stamp set by Picket Fence Studios.  I love the large blooms!  I stamped portions of the Lily Bouquet stamp set at opposite corners leaving a space in the center for the sentiment.  Staying close to my inspiration photo I only colored in the leaves and a few flowers leaving the rest in black and white.  To finish off the card I added a few frosted gems.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  The Lily Bouquet is part of the new Picket Fence Studios release, for a view the rest of the fabulous release click HERE

Merry Everything & a Winner!

Hello!  today I am featuring one of the Picket Fence Studios new releases Have a Wonderful Wintery Day. I think this friend trio is darling!  I gave them a wintry background by stamping distress inks on an acrylic block, then spritzed with water and stamped on the cardstock.  A little white ink splatter finishes off the wintry sky.

I popped each character up with craft foam then stamped the sentiment.

This week's Simon Says Wednesday Challenge is Animal Antics so it was the perfect time to feature these cute guys!

I posted a giveaway this week and I have a winner!
Congrats to Ellie Wilkins

That's it for me today but before I go let me leave you with a link to the fabulous October release HEREThe new release is packed with fun stamp sets again this month!

So Glad

Before October gets away from us I wanted to use this sentiment from the Eat Pie stamp set by The Project Bin at least once more.

I stamped Mustard Seed Distress Ink and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide inks on an acrylic block and spritzed it with water then stamped it onto a piece of cardstock.  Once dry I stamped the sweet October sentiment.

The last week or so I have been hearing tales of cold weather from other parts of the country but so far our afternoons are still quite warm.  What is your weather like?

Enjoy your October and get crafty!

Picket Fence Release Day Fun

It's Picket Fence Studios Release day today and wow, do we have beautiful stamp sets to share with you!  First up  I am featuring one of three large sentiments from the Happiness Belongs To You stamp set by Picket Fence Studios.  I love the bold font and fun script of this sentiment.  The border layers were created with the Cling Wrap Technique by Lydia.  To finish off the project I adhered a few gorgeous Blue Hawaiian sequins.

For the next card, I used the darling Like a Crafty Fox stamp set.  Goodness, the foxes are sooo cute in this set!  I masked off about 5/8 of an inch and by blending Broken China Distress in the area between the masks using one of the brushes from the Life Changing Blender Brush set.  I removed the masks and then stamped a fox and a sentiment!  With this card, I am playing along with this week's Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoaststampers. Congrats to Angel!

Picket Fence Studios is now carrying coordinating dies to many of their stamps sets.   My nephew is in his second year of teaching so when I saw this set I couldn't wait to create a card for him.  I stamped the cup from Good Teacher stamp set then die cut it with the cup from the Good Teacher Die. I always prefer the smooth lines of a die rather than my fussy cutting!

I have a stamp set to give away from the Halloween release.  All you need to do to be eligible is leave a comment telling me what was your favorite new product in this month's release by midnight of Thursday the 18th and I will announce the winner on Friday the 19th!  Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check out tomorrow's post for more release day projects.

You Matter

I am the hostess for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststameprs this week.  Our site was chosen by our guest designer and it overflows with inspiration!  I chose THIS photo to inspire my card.

To create my ocean scene I blended distress inks for the sea with the Life Changing Blender Brushes.  I then spritzed the Ocean Dreams background stamp with water and stamped onto the ocean.   I masked off the sky and added the sun with a sneak peek item from the new Picket Fence Release (Stop by tomorrow to see all the new goodies!).   Next, I filled my ocean scene with images and a sentiment from the super fun Dose of Vitamin Sea stamp set by Picket Fence Studios.  Since the birds are outline stamps I filled in their bodies with black sharpie marker to create silhouettes.  This week Picket Fence Studios debuted coordinating dies to go with many of their stamps sets so no fussy cutting needed for this cute whale.  The Dose of Vitamin Sea Coordinating Die set includes both whales and an adorable waterspout die.

Thanks so much for stopping by, it's true, you matter more to me than all the fish in the sea!!!

To the North Pole

It's still hot here!  Bleck.  A great way to forget about the heat is to create a card with snow! I did just that with the North Pole set by The Project Bin!

For the back I used one of the sweet background stamps from the Hand Made set and then stamped the cute little envelope that is included in the North Pole set.

For the final touch, I added the North Pole greeting to the envelope!

If it's still hot where you live, I hope you take a tip from me and get started on those Christmas cards!  Not only will it help to think of something other than the heat but you will be ahead come December!

Now here's one more look at the sweet sets featured today:

Snuggle Up

The Project Bin has a new stamp set out and I was eager to create with it!  New stamps are like new clothes, I am always eager to use them for the first time!  For this card, I created a base layer with the round (Let it Snow) sentiment from the North Pole  set.  I stamped it on the edges of the paper making sure that the sentiment was set as far to the center of the paper as possible.  When I was done there were a few gaps so I stamped the snowflake which is attached to the  (Keep Warm and Snuggle up) sentiment by simply masking off the words.

I stamped the sentiment in the middle of the white layer then framed it.  After die cutting the frame I used a blender brush on the frame with the same Memento Teal Zeal ink as the snowflakes and sentiment.

What are your temps like?  Is it snuggle weather or is it still summer for you? Summer has not loosened its grip here just yet but any day now!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
