Speedy Fox & Friends 127 - Circles

Wow!  I can't believe how fast some weeks fly by!  Seems like just yesterday I was working on "snowpeople" tags but now it's time to talk about CIRCLES!  The Speedy Fox & Friends challenge this week is to use circles on your projects!  So many possibilities!  You can upload your creation HERE for a chance to win a beautiful stamp set.

For my card I chose to make a circle card and add a swirled embossed circle in the center.  I inked up the embossing folder then placed the circle inside the folder and ran it through my BigKick.    I used the adorable set "Buried Treasure", and distressed it all to give it that well used, pirate look!!!  This set kind of makes me wish I had a little pirate around!!!  Thanks for looking, Matey and have yourself a treasure filled weekend!!!!

Today I have a card to show using the new release set "I'm Going Batty".  I used the cute kitty and the "Boo" stamp.  I colored  the kitty black and titled this card "Stormy Cat" because the kitty makes me think of our little Storm!

FOSTV 39 - Tags and Tickets

Greetings to you this Monday morning!!!  Our challenge at FOSTV this week is Tags and Tickets.  Check out the challenge and the beautiful  DT inspiration Here!  For my project I chose to make a card with tickets and a tag.  I am sneak peeking  the set: Holly Jolly Greetings that will be fully revealed later this week. You are in for a treat as the new stamp sets will be revealed beginning Tuesday at MFP a Heinrich Co blog.

I don't have a ticket punch/die or a tag punch/die so I made them myself!  I do have a punch that cuts the corners to make a rectangle look like a ticket but if you don't have a ticket hole punch you can use a regular hole punch and just snip the corners of a rectangle.  That's what I did before I had a ticket hole punch.

To liven up the tag front I took cranberry card stock and stamped the cute little leaf and berry stamp with Versamark.  If you look closely you can see the slight print of the holly leaves on the tag.  Here is a close up of the tag.

Virtual Stamp Night fun at Splitcoaststampers

I have been a busy little bee the last few weeks trying to fit in a few cards for the "Back to School" VSN at Splitcoaststampers.  This was my first time acting as a hostess for one of the challenges.  My challenge idea was to put red somewhere on the card.  Ooohh La La ....there is a fabulous RED gallery over there!!!  The first two cards are ones I created as samples for my challenges and the rest are challenges I participated in.  TFL and I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Wheels on the card and bonus points for making it round.

FOSTV 38 - BINGO

Good Monday morning to you!!!  We have had a lovely laid back weekend.  One of those weekends we cherish with all of us at home working on our own projects without deadlines.  I treasure these moments as I know they will become more rare as our children are growing up and getting busier!!

Our challenge at FRIENDS OF SPEEDY TV  is a lot of fun this week!  We are playing Bingo!!  Choose any 3 items in a row: horizontal, vertical or diagonal to place on your card.  Here is a copy of the Bingo card and you can join us right HERE.  Scroll all the way to the bottom of this post to see what stamp set will be given away to one lucky winner this week!

For my card I chose the middle vertical row. I have really enjoyed playing with shaped cards lately so I thought I would give a round card a try!  I used MFP a Heinrich Co. Garden Art for the butterfly and sentiment.

Bingo card middle row looks like this for my card: Round Card, White Sheer Ribbon, An all green card with a touch of white!

My paper is from Recollections: Habitat

Speedy Fox & Friends 125 - Favorite Technique

Happy Weekend!!  This week's Speedy Fox & Friends challenge is to make a project using your favorite technique.  So many techniques, so little time!!!  I look forward to seeing all the different techniques used this week and reading about your choice of technique! You can link up your project  HERE!

I had a hard time deciding on a technique to showcase.  I have so many that I love but I decided to go with heat embossing.  My sister gave me my very first powder and a heat gun over 10 years ago.  I never took the heat gun out of the box or opened the powder!!!    Last year when I began to paper craft, I remembered I had these items tucked in a plastic container in my closet!!!

I love sprinkling on the powder and watching it change into a shiny coating when heated!  I have used this butterfly from MFP a Heinrich Co. Today, Tomorrow and Always quite a bit and I  heat emboss it every time!!!  For this project I painted the inside of the butterfly with Perfect Pearls.  Here is a close up so you can see the effect of the heat embossing.

I used two MFP a Heinrich Co. stamp sets:

FOSTV 37 - CASE

Happy Monday to you!  For our challenge this week at FOSTV we are going to CASE someone.  CASE means to "Copy and Share Everything".  I loved Toni's card the moment I saw it so you can imagine my delight when this challenge came up and it meant I could create one too!!!  See Toni's card HERE at Sweet Pea's Story blog.  We hope you come join us for this fun challenge right here at FOSTV CHALLENGE!
I followed the CASE guidelines at SCS of changing at least 2 things from the original.   For my "tire swing" I used black floss, I added grass and sponged a light sky. I added 3 black gems to the side of my card instead of Toni's pretty scalloped edge.

When I looked at the sentiments that are in this gorgeous set : Tree Greetings,  I knew I had to use  "Greetings" because all of a sudden this card had a destination!!!!  I think this card will make a nice "thank you" to the  leader of the study group I am attending.  The study is on the book of James.  James opens his letter by writing "Greetings" to his listeners.  We learned that the original Greek word means JOY, so I thought our leader might enjoy a card with the word "greetings" on it.

For me the sentiment "Greetings" takes on a whole new meaning so with the beginning of a new week, I would like to say, "Greetings to you" or "Joy to you"!!!  I hope you have a great week!

Speedy Fox & Friends 124 - Red and White

Hello!  This week's Speedy Fox & Friends challenge is a color challenge.  If you guessed it was a red and white challenge, you are correct!!  I am looking forward to seeing all the beautiful Red and White creations  HERE!

I love anything in the red family so this was super fun for me!  I used MFP a Heinrich Co. Snow Gifts mini set for my card.  It's just perfect for a red and white card but I think it will also be fun to make it in blue and some with paper piecing.  Yep, I am going to be wearing this little stamp out!!  I showed DH and told him which sentiment I was going to use and he said, "No, you should use Brrr".  He followed that by saying, "better yet...I think you should add a little interest by saying rrrB".  What a funny guy!!

I used a Martha Stewart snowflake punch and a Paper Studio glitter brad for my embellishment.  The base of the card and the panel the image is stamped on is MFP a Heinrich Co. 140lb Premium White CS.  Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

FOSTV 36 - Back to School

It's Labor Day in the U.S. and last week I said my DH works most Labor Days.  Well, he surprised us and took the day off!   We have had a great weekend and now we are just hanging out at the house enjoying the day.

Our Challenge at FOSTV this week is "back to school".   Our kids have been back in school for 4 weeks now and I need to make some teacher, "thank you" and "appreciation" cards, do you?  Come join us HERE!

I used MFP a Heinrich Co. - "Lesson Learned" for this card.  I stamped the chalk board on Kraft and then used Versamark and white EP for the sentiment so it would stand out better against the black chalk board.  I love this  Basic Grey "Oxford" DP.  It works great for masculine cards! I decided to go looking for a sketch when I went to create this card and found: Mojo Monday 256.

This stamp set will be given to one lucky player this week!

Speedy Fox & Friends 123 - Sympathy

Good Saturday morning!  We are in the middle of a busy weekend at our house.  We went to a hot air balloon glow last night, today is middle school band fund raiser, and tomorrow, church with the possibility of seeing a $1.00 movie afterwards!  For now though, I am taking a little break from all the activity to share this  week's Speedy Fox & Friends challenge!!  Our challenge this week is to make a sympathy card.    We hope you will join us this week right HERE.

This week I have been doing a little reading on "balance and white space".  So for my card I moved the image off to the side and even off the paper a little.  I am not sure I pulled it off completely but I think it has an interesting look!  I used two MFP a Heinrich Co. stamp sets and both sets just happen to be flower sets!  The Sunflower is from, "Bring on the Sun" and the sentiment is from "Oopsy Daisy" .    Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!!!
