September Blogging with Friends

Hi!  It's time for our SCS flybaby "Blogging with Friends" post.  Our challenge is brought to us this month by ....... little old me!!!!  My challenge was to make a FALL card...not very original, I know but Fall is definitely in the air!

I used an embossing folder by Darice " Leafy Tree".  Sponged color lightly on tree trunk and leaves.  The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. "Autumn Friendships".  The paper is Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. 140lb Preimum White Paper and Authentique Season Essentials.

Thanks so much for looking and happy FALL to you!

Speedy Fox & Friends 179 - Back to School

Happy Saturday!!  I hope you had a good week and have a nice weekend planned!  At Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps a  HC it's time for a new Speedy Fox & Friends challenge and the challenge this week is "Back to School".   It's hard to believe but our kids have been in school Eight weeks already!

I decided to go with a "Thank you" card for one of the teachers.  We can never have too many "Thank You" cards on hand!

I made a little "chalkboard" for my sentiment using "Big Cupcake".   I paper pieced the apple from "Lesson Learned"  and popped it up on sticky foam pads.

For more information on the challenge and to see the fabulous designs of my teammates please head on over to Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps a HC blog right HERE.

Thanks so much for looking and I hope you have a great weekend!

Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge 177 - the letter G

Happy Saturday everyone!  I hope you have some nice weekend plans!  I am going to try and change up our routine just a bit which won't be too much fun for me but might make our Sundays just a little less busy.  Wish me luck!  :)  Before I get going on my changes let's chat about Speedy Fox & Friends challenge!  This week our challenge is to add something to the project that begins with the letter G.

I have two.  One is obvious, can you guess the other?  After you view the photo I will tell you my second G.  :)

G is for Green and Gesso!  I took crumpled celophane and tapped it into gesso then stamped all over the panel.  After it was dry I used TH Bundled Sage distress stain.  For the purple panel, I painted it with Lavender paint, after it was dry I painted over the top of a stencil with the brayer.  When I lifted the stencil off the paper I noticed that the design only showed up in spots so I took the brayer and lightly went over the entire panel, then back again with the stencil randomly in spots.

To get all the details on the challenge and to see the other fabulous inspiration pieces my teammates created please visit Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps Blog right HERE.
Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

Our last set for the week is great for the sport's fans in your life!

I created this for my very dear friend so that she can give it to her husband, an avid Alabama fan.
I stamped and cut the football out, embossed it with Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles EF and then clear heat embossed it to give a bit of a leather appearance.

I appreciate all the time you spent checking out my designs this week!

Please stop by my very talented teammates blogs to see what they came up with today and if you leave some comments you just might win today's release set!!!

Welcome to day one of the Hop!  I am so excited to share with you the card I created with the Koi Fish Stamp set.

I created this with TH alcohol reinkers.  I had a panel sitting on my desk, a reject from a DTGD challenge.  It was quite ugly but I am so glad that I have learned not to toss!  I dropped ink onto my felt and this time I added Citrus instead of the red I had previously used and to my surprise I turned something unusable into this gorgeous marble looking panel!

The fish are heat embossed on vellum.

Thanks for looking!

MFPSaHC September Special and Mini Sets

Happy Monday!  It's Blog Hop week at Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps a HC so I hope you will stop by every day this week to see all the goodies!  Today we are featuring the Special set and the mini.

Mini:

This set includes a gorgeous silhouette in a large and mini size!

Holiday Tag

I created this gift bag from a white envelope!

This is a fun stamp set that includes a TAG stamp that is easy to cut out so a tag die is not needed.

For the tag I stamped snowflakes from the WINTER SCENES set using acrylic paint.  Then stamped the gingerbread man and outlined him with white gel pen.

I hope you will  stop by Mark's Finest Paper's & Stamps blog right HERE to see my teammate's beautiful projects.  Don't forget tomorrow starts MFPSaHC blog hop with a chance to win a stamp set for each day's release!

I hope you have a great day!

Virtual Stamp Night

Hi!  I have a card to share with you that I created for Splitcoaststampers Virtual Stamp Night.  If you enjoy playing in challenges  there are about 18 challenges all having something to do with opposites. It's not too late to play along, the deadline to upload your cards is 9/14!

I created this for Rosy's VSN challenge to use a cat and dog on our projects. I couldn't resist pairing up the kitty and puppy PI's from MFT to play along with this challenge.

I am entering this into Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Animal Antics

Thanks for looking!

Speedy Fox & Friends 176 - Mask Something

Happy Saturday!  The new challenge at Speedy Fox & Friends is to Mask Something.  Masking adds so much dimension to a card and allows great mixing of stamps.  To see the awesome projects my teammates came up with and for details on entering the challenge please visit Mark's Finest Paper's & Stamps a HC right HERE.

To create this card I started off by cutting a circle from a   4 1/4 piece of CS to use as a mask.
I placed the mask on top of my card, then stamped the fish ( a little sneak peek of a Sept. release!) in the center.  By laying down the mask I was able to get my fish centered.

I stamped white pigment ink and then used white embossing powder and heated.

My next step was to place the mask back over my card and sponge  TH Broken China in the circle.

Once again I don't have good tutorial photos because these were taken AFTER the project was complete.  I get a bit too involved with the process to stop and take photos!  :)  Nontheless at this point the emboss resist took effect and the fish details became evident.  Since I don't have good luck with spritzing water to make water spots,I took a q-tip dipped in water and made those fun water circles!

With a piece of notebook paper I cut out another circle (thin paper works best so that there isn't a gap in between the images after stamping) and then stamped the bamboo.
(this photo was taken after I had already done this step which is why you don't see part of the bamboo stamp on the notebook paper)

Viola!  One layer card with lots of dimension.

I hope my little after-the-fact tutorial was helpful and not too confusing!

Have a wonderful Weekend and don't forget to stop by next week.  It's MFPS a HC blog hop next week and I have lots of fun projects to share!
