SNSS Fowl?

Hello! Today I am going to share a card using one of this month's Sweet Perks Bundles: Get Well Critters. This set is overflowing with fun sentiments and cute critters, sure to cheer anyone feeling under the weather!

It would have been very hard to decide which image to work with for today's card but I had just received this fun stencil in the mail.  I masked an oval, and sponged the chicken wire, then I colored up this fancy fella and gave him a bright blue bandage.

Here's a look at all the goodies included with this set!

MFP - In my Beautiful Balloon....

Hello Friends!

At MFP today, Shirley has chosen three fabulous photos to inspire our creations this week!
I was really drawn to photo number two with the purples, greens and yellows.  I chose the balloon image from MFP's Hot Air Balloon Mini Stamp Set and colored the balloon with similar colors in the photo.  After I began coloring I realized that my card looked very much like a Mardi Gras card!  Actually it kind of made me hungry for some King Cake!
Since my card turned into a nod to Mardi Gras, it will be flying to Louisiana to make its home with my biggest fan, my little niece!  Maybe she will catch some Mardi Gras beads for me!  :)

Well, before I leave you with a little song I have to tell you that I am going to do a little flying away myself.  Nope I am not going on a hot air balloon ride but this will be my final post with MFP for awhile. I am just a couple months short of having designed with MFP for three years!!!  MFP hired me when I was a fledgling stamper and they have allowed me to experiment, learn, and grow as a designer and blogger! I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with MFP and their wonderful designers. Many of the DT have become dear friends.
I will miss working with you, my friends but I will see you regularly in blogland!!!!

CAS309 Snowy Inspiration!

Hello Friends!

Wow! How time flies!  At 3:30 am, 18 years ago our son was born!  Shaking my head at how fast the time has gone.  Today's post is really about a snowman card I want to share but I just couldn't help mentioning that my boy is 18 today!!!

Living in the south it's very exciting to have even a smidgen of snow but it looks like this year we aren't going to be treated to a snow day! Instead I will just have to enjoy the pretty snowman cards in the SCS CAS309 gallery!  Joyce shared a beautiful inspiration photo with us this week at Splitcoaststampers CAS309 challenge . I combined both the CAS challenge and  QFTD246 for my card.  To honor Queen Lee, I CASED THIS beauty!  This is also #2 for my monthly CCC15 goal of 5 Christmas cards.

This Sweet N Sassy snowman from "Welcome Jesus" always makes me smile.  This stamp set also has a coordinating "Welcome Jesus Die Set"!

I couldn't resist creating a bit on the inside:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

PPRS Monday Inspiration - Pet Sympathy

Happy Monday!

Today I am sharing a bit of Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps Monday Inspiration.

I chose GG0196 A Loyal Companion, for  my focal point and used SCS QFTD246 challenge for design inspiration.  The challenge is to use ovals so I die cut two ovals from  PPRS-D042 Scallop Oval Nesting Die set.

To finish off my card I added a little tag using a circle die cut and a hole punch.  I stamped the paw print and added some ribbons.

Thanks so much for looking and don't forget to stop by PPRS Blog to see what my teammates created this week!

SNSS Lots of Glue

Happy Friday!

For today's post I am sharing a card I made with Sweet n Sassy's,
My very good friend and I share the same name and the same birth date, how wild is that?  December birthday's aren't the easiest to celebrate and we found that our schedules were completely booked in December so we had our "birthday" celebration this week. We had such a lovely evening of "catch up" conversation.

Since we met more than a month late for our birthday I decided that I would use one of the funny sentiments included in the  Sassy Cindy set instead of a typical birthday greeting.

As all of us, card makers know, some of our masterpieces need LOTS of glue!  :)

Thanks for stopping by and
don't forget that Sweet N Sassy has a great sale going on!

MFP Weekly Inspiration - Zentangles

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Today I am sharing a card I created for MFP.  Shirley has chosen three fun zentangle photos to inspire our design.  We can zentangle or we can use something in the photos to inspire our designs. This time I chose not to zentangle the image but it would be a fabulous image to tangle!

PPRS Monday Inspiration - A Valentine

Hello!  I have made a discovery!  I love creating Valentine cards.  Don't ask me why it's taken me this long to realize it.  I love pink, that should have been my first clue but it hasn't been until this month working with PPRS images that I realized I have a love affair going with....well, LOVE, I guess!  :)

I had another fun stamping session with pink and hearts and here is what I came up with.

I used:  GG0131 Branch with Hearts, and  CLR047 Mini Vases Clear Set for the sentiment.

Kia (kiagc) is QFTD at SCS this week and I found THIS card to take inspiration from.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous week!

SNSS - Thinking of You

Hello and Happy Saturday to you!

On Release day I shared a soft, romantic card using  the versatile Parisian Postcard Clear Stamp Set. Today I am sharing how this set can be used for a "Sympathy" or "Thinking of You" card.

I stamped the beautiful rose image and kept it black and white for a bit of drama.   I colored two butterflies and fussy cut them to flit among the roses. Next I stamped the sentiment that is included in the set and finished off the layer with two frilly borders using Doily Border Dies.

Before I leave you today I am excited to share with you that SNSS has a fabulous sale going on right now!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

PPRS Monday Inspiration - Changing up the Image

Happy Monday!!!!
Ooops! Guess what I did.  I forgot to write up this post!  It was on my list for last night and then I guess I got distracted and oopsie.

Well here it is and I have to tell you I think this is going to be one of my favorite cards!!!  I am sharing with you JJ0085 Hanging an Ornament today.  Yes, you read that correctly, an Ornament!  This is a Christmas image.  I didn't get to use her in December so I decided that with just a tiny change I could use her all year long!  There's just something about her that tugs at me.  It might be my passion for Classic movies that makes me love her so, she reminds me of the stars of some of my favorite movies!

So how did I change this cute image? On the stamp she holds an ornament.  I masked off the ornament, stamped the heart from GG0131 Branch with Hearts on a sepeate piece of paper, colored and fussy cut it.  Next I drew a line from her hands to where I was going to place the heart.  I adhered the heart and violoa!  She's now a valentine!!!!

It's not nice to peep under a lady's skirt but I thought just this once it would be ok so that I can share the fun dimension.  The skirt was stamped on patterned paper twice.  One layer adhered to the image, the second layer I added tulle then adhered at the waist leaving the lower portion of the skirt to flow!

I played along with SC522 for my design so in keeping with the sketch I used PPRS-D034 Floral Border for the layer beneath the image and the sentiment is part of CLR047 Mini Vases.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!!

I hope you will stop on by the PPRS BLOG to see all the goodies my teammates have to share today!

SNSS January Release Day!

Hello friends!
It's Sweet N Sassy release day and I am bursting with excitement!

As part of our release day fun, one random commenter from one of the DT blogs will be selected to win a $10 Gift Code for the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store.  You have until Thursday, January 15th at midnight EST to leave your comments.  The winner will be posted on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog on Friday, January 16th!

First up I have a bit of  Parisian romance to share with you.  The Parisian Postcard set has so much to offer!  With the wide variety of images in this set there's very little need to reach for embellishments.  I went for a bit of a vintage look and gave the Eiffel tower layer a bit of a tear and a cup stain!  I just love the detail on the butterflies so I added three!  To finish off the card I added two die cut flowers using Kindness Flower/Clover Die Set.

This card will be sent to my sis as she celebrates her 30th Wedding Anniversary on
February 14th and she loves all things Parisian!

Taking a hard right turn from softly romantic, I went with vivid shades of purple to accompany our Sassy Cindy. This set includes11 sassy sentiments to pair with Cindy!  For my finishing touch, I added just a bit of frill with some die cut lace using Doily Border Dies.

I couldn't resist making one more for release day!  This is Sweet Sarah and the sentiments in this set are perfect to celebrate friendship!  The sentiment is so true, I have the BEST friends!  This card is going to one of my dearest friends who always does way too much for our family.  She loves the beach so I thought it would be fun to personalize it a bit and add the palm tree paper in the background.

MFP - Not too Shabby

Hello!
Today I am sharing MFP's first inspiration challenge of 2015!
Shirley has picked out a lovely trio of shabby chic photos to inspire our creations.

I used the hat image and sentiment from MFP's Vintage Fashion and decorated the card with the flowers MariLynn gave me this past summer.  You can see more about that fun meeting and the box of gorgeous flowers on this POST.

I chose the first photo as my inspiration.  My paper ended up being more peach than pink but the photo inspired my paper selection.  The lacey throw and bed skirt inspired the doily and ribbons.

Come play along with us at the Inspiration challenge at MFP and you can also view the beauties my teammates have created this week!

Turtley Tuesday!

Hello!  Angie here today with my first post as a Sweet 'n Sassy design team member! I am so honored, Korin that you selected me to be part of the SNSS team!

I used the adorable turtle and coordinating sentiment from Cute Critters Clear Stamp Set to share with you today.  This set is part of the January Sweet Perks Club Bundles that is available until January 8th so you still have a couple of days to take advantage of this sweet deal!

A couple of years ago our daughter rescued "Ted" the turtle.  He was sharing a small bowl with eight siblings at her friend's house.  Now Ted enjoys his days basking in sunshine in a large aquarium in our daughter's room.

Inspired by our Ted, I decided to add dimension to this turtle by layering and using foam dots.  I stamped the turtle on the white card stock layer, then stamped him twice more and fussy cut the shell, and the head and layered with foam dots. Next I die cut the sun and clouds from  Happy Happy Die set because even paper turtles need a little sunshine!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

PPRS Monday Inspiration

Hello!
It's Monday again and this is tough one for some of us!  Back to school, back to work, back to routine!  I know some of you are rejoicing for back to routine but I am not that girl!  I guess it's those wandering roots showing.  We moved every 9 months or so when I was a child.  Life was never routine!  I would never wish for that kind of life as an adult but on the other hand routines make me restless!!  Since it's a rather bummer Monday for me I decided to fancy it up a bit with a card accented in my favorite color!

I had so much fun creating this white and pink card with Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps dies! I used  CLR006 Birdcage Clear Stamp, for the sentiment and  PPRS-D006 Birdcage Die Set, PPRS-D040 Pine Branch Die SetPPRS-D031Poinsettia Leaf Die to create my scene.

The birdcage has a pretty hanger at the top so I looped ribbon through it to hang from the branch.  I made my own tag by chomping the ends with my corner chomper.

I took the CAS306 challenge to make an all white card with one other color.

I will leave you now to your routines!  **giggle** Have a fabulous week and don't forget to stop by the PPRS blog to see the wonderful creations from my teammates!
