Lovely Lotus

Hello, Friends!

I am thrilled to share that Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is releasing two new stamp sets for preorder today!!!  Lovely Lotus and Floral Pattern Background clear stamp sets combine  beautifully!   For my sample, I featured the smallest of three lotus blossoms, a dragonfly and one of eight sentiments from Lovely Lotus.  Don't you just love the font on the sentiment?

I stamped the sentiment on a Mini Tags Die cut tag then fussy cut a little dragonfly and popped him up, he looks like he is flitting over to the blossom!

Funny story!  The day I was putting the finishing touches on this card I received a card from Janeen.  I loved the way she tied some ribbon so I tried it for my card.  When I thanked her for the inspiration she said she took the idea off one of my cards!  LOL

For the background, I used a cool "fresco" technique Lydia at UnderstandBlue shared recently.
It really doesn't matter if paint gets into the background when watercoloring because the second step hides it!

I hope you will stop by Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps blog to view the gorgeous samples the rest of the team has designed for your inspiration, several of the samples show how beautifully the stamp sets combine!

  3. Love how your fresco background turned out. It is so pretty. I finally got to get to Hobby Lobby this week to spend a gift card my mom gave me in May for my birthday. When I was walking through the store and went by the paints, I was thinking about you and Lydia, and almost got some of that thick paint, but ended up getting a calligraphy pen set instead. Love the little dragonfly on your card.

  5. Love that background! It goes so well with your image but doesn't overwhelm. And the image is so wonderful. That is a great set of stamps. I laughed at where the inspiration for the tied ribbon came from!!!

Have a fantastic week, my friend!!!
It's so cold in the study where I have my computer and craft area, so I've been absent form Blogland for three weeks - rather spend time in the lounge or family room in the sun or in front of the fire, knitting or crocheting!!! But I've been missing all my friends and making cards, so I've put on lots of warm clothes and now I can sort of handle the cold in here!!! Enjoyed visiting you again!!!
