String of Lights

The first day of the month means it's time for the Fan Club Christmas Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  I have enjoyed creating cards every month for the challenge and now I have a nice stack of cards to give away before the season gets hectic!

I am featuring this super fun image from the String of Lights stamp set by Picket Fence Studios.  I just love the movement captured in this image.  To create this fun look I stamped Fired Brick and Peacock Feathers Distress inks onto the stamp then spritzed the stamp with water.  Next, I stamped onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper which does not bubble up when wet and has a smooth texture which I really like. I then heat embossed the image for a fun shine and texture.  The last step was to die cut the image with the String of Lights Coordinating die which is easy to use and cuts around the thin strings beautifully!  I am smitten by this stamp and die!  All that was left was to add the sentiment which is from the Santa Mischief set.

Have a spectacular day!

  1. how fun is this? i love that die and how it cuts as one and makes it look like individual die cut pieces. I bet IRL this card is super cool with the shiny embossing powder on it.
