It's release day at Picket Fence Studios and wow, do we have gorgeous things to share with you today, I also have a giveaway! First, up is the oh so gorgeous, Jill Girl. I love the cozy red sweater warmer on Jill's cup, I have one just like it IRL! Jill reminds me of my daughter so I went with a sentiment from the beautiful Ruffled Peony Bouquet stamp set. With this card, I am playing along with the Color Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.
Next up we are headed underwater with the new set, A Bottomless Sea. Using the LC Blender Brushes I inked up my sea. I used the largest brush and tapped the brush into the ink. Holding the brush head I pressed down and inked the layer. Pushing down on the brush makes it quick and easy to color large spaces. For the next step, I used a sunray stencil and wiped the rays with a baby wipe then I stamped the bubbles from the Bottomless Sea set.
It's been a while since I created a shaker card but the sea was begging for shaker magic so I filled the sea with Blue Hawaiin sequins. To finish off the card I used this encouraging sentiment which is included in A Bottomless Sea stamp set.
For my last card, I stamped Rough around the Edges on the card base. I love being able to create backgrounds in colors of my own choosing! The stripes create a wonderful background for a large sentiment like Happy Happy Happy Birthday!
It's so exciting to hang around Picket Fence Studios, you never know what surprises they will reveal next! The newest product in the line up is Black Hybrid Ink which can be used with alcohol markers and watercolor mediums, isn't that cool? This month's Picket Fence Studios release is full of sweet things including this adorable I love you Momma and Coffee Understands. You can view all the new goodies HERE.
And now for giveaway details, I get to give away a Black Hybrid Ink Pad to one lucky winner. All you have to do to be eligible is leave me a comment telling me whether you like to create your own backgrounds AND/OR whether you like to create shaker cards. You will have another opportunity on Friday and Saturday to leave a comment on blog posts with more of the latest Picket Fence releases. That means you will have up to three entries! Fabulous designs!! My sea card is almost the same! Haha!! (It's for later)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE making shaker cards. I was super late to the party, and made my first one just in the last couple of years (can't remember exactly), but I am so hooked. Nothing fancy, but they sure are fun.
Awesome new designs! I love the way your colored the first card with those pretty red mittens and cup!
ReplyDeleteI love making shaker cards and making my own backgrounds! Excited about a hybrid ink.... sometimes when I stamp, I'm not sure yet how I want to color the image. A hybrid ink would solve that issue, as I could either watercolor or use alcohol markers!
fantabulous as always. i really like the distressed stripes for a BG. great creation. the under the sea just captures everything as it is and makes me think of snorkeling. It's beautiful. I do so love to make my own backgrounds but i have SOOOO much DP i want to use up. Shaker cards are fun to make also.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Angela! I love how you colored 'Jill'. The shaker card is so pretty with the blues and greens. I love to make my own backgrounds on cards I make. Whether through stamps or cover dies, I get to choose the background.
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous cards, Angie! The Jill Girl image is striking with your beautiful coloring. I love the beautiful scarf and cup holder on the image. The under the sea card is so beautiful as a shaker card, and the Happy Birthday card with the lovely striped background is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! I just love how you colored each one of your cards! That ocean shaker cards is absolutely gorgeous! I really like the ray effect from the stencil! I really like to make my own backgrounds because then it's even more truly created by you! And I am a newbee to card making so I haven't actually created a shaker card yet! But I am definitely wanting to!
ReplyDeleteI love making backgrounds. In fact, if you were to come look around my crafting space, you'd be guaranteed to find a few piles of backgrounds just waiting to grow up into cards. And I love the idea of making a shaker card. I haven't practiced enough so they sort of stress me out. But I sure do love seeing them and shaking them. I need to be brave and try to make some more.
