A little bit of Whimsy

This week's Featured Stamper at SCS is Sally and I found THIS fun card of hers.

Color blocking on an ink block is so much fun because you don't know exactly how the ink will move when you smoosh it on the paper! I stamped Distress Oxide inks in squares on my acrylic block then spritzed with water and stamped on the paper.  This super cool flower is Whimsy Flower from Impression Obsession and to finish off my card I stamped a birthday greeting from The Skinny set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!  Here's a look at the stamps sets featured today.

All About You

I created this for this week's Inspiration Challenge at SCS.  Janine is our Guest Designer this week and she chose a great site for us.  Splitcoaststamepers is a free online community and once registered you can have your own gallery to share your artwork. There are tutorials, daily challenges and chat threads all free of charge. It's a lot of fun playing in daily challenges and getting to know other participants.  I hope to see you there!
So my card was inspired by THIS necklace.  I created a background using the Spotlight on You set and the Grass stamp by Picket Fence Studios.  Of course, I sponged the ink on the background with the Life Changing Blending Brushes which also come in a 4 pack!

The adorable image and sentiment are from Today is all about You and I used the coordinating die to cute her out.  I can't say enough happy things about the coordinating dies. They fit so beautifully around the images.  I decided that my decked out llama would also have a decked out cellphone so I stamped her in magenta and fussy cut and adhered it to the llama's hoof.  Such a cute image!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Now here is a look at the complete sets:

Getting Wild

Shirley is this week's Free For All Challenge at Splitcoaststampers and she is asking us to get a little wild!  Showcase our wild animals, that is! The Boho Zebra and Coordinating Die paired along with a sentiment from Boho Bull fit the challenge perfectly.  Since I had some stamping time this morning I set to work and started with the background using the sun rays from Spotlight on You.

I am also playing along with the 30-Day Challenge, this is day 8!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Here is a look at what I used today!

Be Yourself Today

If you are looking for The Project Bin post scroll down or click HERE!

I am playing along with Kathy Racoosin's 30-Day Coloring Challenge.  It's Day 5 and I have colored a little something every day this month!  The last time I took the challenge I think I only made it about 10 days, I am hoping for all 28 this time!

I used today's colors from the Color Challenge at SCS to inspire my color combo. Then I chose Be Yourself Today and Garden Grows stamps from Impression Obsession.  Coloring just one flower causes it to stand out and be itself! I colored the flower then stamped it and colored it two more times.  To cause the flower to stand out from the rest, even more, I fussy cut the petals, then the center and colored each layer. I curled the petals and adhered it then rounded the center inward and used a foam square to pop it up.

Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge is a fun way to practice coloring and creativity!  The fun thing about this challenge is we don't have to create finished projects, just color!  Check out all the details HERE.

Beelated Birthday

The Project Bin has a new stamp set in the store it's a lot of fun!  The Gratest includes six cute images and eleven sentiments, and several of them are puns!  I just received this set and I am already having fun creating with it!

Once I saw the  CAS challenge at SCS  I put aside the project I was working on and decided to create with color bands/blocks.  For some reason, halfway through my project, I forgot the challenge says color bands and I created color blocks.  I watercolored both the yellow square and the black rectangle for a "modern art" feel.  When I went to post the card in my gallery at SCS, I realized the challenge is to use color bands.  A friend of mine at SCS said she thought it works for Color Bands because the bee has bands on his body so phew!

I added Wink of Stella to the bee's wings but left the rest uncolored then I popped him up with foam squares.

I am also playing along with the 30 Day coloring Challenge!  I watercolored for my background layers.

Impression Obsession - Die Cut Obsession

For today's Die Cut Obsession Day, I created a spring scene and framed it with Rectangle 6 in 1 Frames.  I stamped Isaiah 40:8 from the Grass clear stamp set within the frame and then built my scene.

You know I had to add a couple of cats using the Cat Set Die.  I created a Grass Border and added flowers with Tiny Flowers Die.  This die includes 36 flowers so you don't have to keep die cutting over and over.  Since they are all on one die cutting plate, the little flowers can't be lost!

I couldn't resist adding a few leafy branches from the Lg. Bird on a Branch Die.  I simply snipped off a couple of branches.  Lastly, I used the Dragonfly Set and added three of the smaller dragonflies.  IRL they sparkle with Wink of Stella!

We have set aside a couple days to share some fabulous new Impression Obsession die projects! Have fun checking out what the Designers have made today. A list of participants can be found on the Impression Obsession Blog!

I am playing along with Simon Says Stamp - anything goes - they are featuring IO stamps and dies this week!

I am also celebrating this week's Featured Stamper at SCS.

I Choose You

If you share your life with a cat you know they are full of drama and mystery!  I think Cali Kitten by Picket Fence Stamps totally captures the drama, mystery, and elegance of the cat!

This week Julie is our hostess for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  She chose a huge art site for us to visit and I found a ton of inspiration.  I searched "cat" and wow did the colors and images of cats burst off the page.  I saved at least a dozen photos before I narrowed it down to THIS one.  Be still my heart!

Happy weekend and I hope to see you at the Inspiration Challenge!

I am also playing along with the 30 Day Coloring Challenge!
