Sympathy

We received sad news this week.  My husband's uncle passed away quite suddenly.  We haven't seen them in several years but a sudden loss is always sad.  My husband asked me if I would make a few sympathy cards so I put aside my "to do" list and went to work.  This card is for my husband's cousin.  I wasn't exactly certain how to design a masculine sympathy card but with a little help from, "CAS(E) this Sketch"  I think it turned out ok.

I created the buttons with my Sizzix "Button Die" from a coffee sleeve then glazed the buttons with Glossy Accents tied some baker's twine and I had a (hopefully masculine) element needed for the sketch.

Thanks for Looking.

  1. I'm so sorry, Angie, about the death in your husband's family. Always such a sad occasion. Your card is great. I love that pretty, curved edge on the inside.

  2. Angie, it's like you said, it's easier to have a stash of these than to make them unexpectedly, however I find I really use more sympathy cards than any other and my stash is always dwindled.
My sympathies to your family. I just posted a sympathy card too. I need to make some more to have on hand.

  5. Angie - sorry to hear your news. Sympathy cards are not something we tend to make and keep in our stash but actually they are so difficult to make when dealing with the sadness. You did a great job with this one.
