Speedy Fox & Friends 168 - Favorite Technique

It's Saturday and that means it's time for Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge.  We had a fun week showcasing Mark's Finest Paper & Stamps a HC this week, I hope you had a chance to check out the new sets for this month!

Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge this week is to use your favorite technique.  For all the info and to see the beautiful samples the design team has created please visit Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge Blog.

My favorite techniques right now include mixing different medias.  I began by dabbing TH distress ink directly to craft mat and spritzing with water.  Then I swiped water color paper through the ink.

Then I brushed gesso....

For the next step I placed a hexagon stencil down randomly on the paper and brushed on pink Gelato.  After I played some more...it's very difficult to see that layer.
I then placed drywall tape down and stippled with distress ink.  I painted a little more white gesso in the general area I planned to place my dinosaur and finished off the panel by sponging the edges with Victorian Velvet Distress ink.

To color the dinosaur I used the first technique as the background.

It occurred to me that girls enjoy dinosaurs too so I created a feminine  dinosaur to go to Haiti along with the other dino cards I made this week.  Since I am not exactly certain of the age of the recipient I wanted to keep the card free of jewels so I punched the centers of the flowers out with a hole punch.

On the inside I added a few dragonflies from the new Dragonfly set.

We hope you will play along with the challenge and show us your favorite technique!!!
