Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp - Monday Inspiration

Hello everyone!  I hope you are enjoying a lovely summer day. This is the last full week of summer break so I chose this sweet summery   KK0032 Birds, Branches and Birdhouse, image for a touch of cheer!  I stamped the sentiment from  CLR047 Mini Vases clear set on the image layer, then added PPRS-D034 Floral Border die to finish off the card.

I hope you will stop on by PPRS BLOG today to view more Monday Inspiration from my talented teammates!

Speedy Fox - Music

Happy Saturday?  I have done very well not feeling sad that summer is almost over but I think it's hit me!  We just returned home from a wonderful 3 day vacation and my daughter just came up to me and said, "I am so sad, we have only one more week of summer".  Ugh!!!   I guess I chose the perfect theme to showcase  Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge this week.  It's a reminder that before we know it, Christmas break will be here and I am looking at the sentiment as I type and breathing deeply!

Peace!!!

Our challenge this week is to create a card with music so I stamped the large music score bg stamp from "Just a Note" then stamped branches from "Joyous Season"  I attached gold fiber for my "ornament" and stamped the sentiment from "Wise Men"

So if you are like me and you are beginning to feel the crush of summer's end and back-to-school mania or just plain life's demands pressing on you, take a deep breath and remind yourself, "Peace"!

My talented teammates have more goodies to share with you so I hope you will stop over and take a look at Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge.

Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps and a Bright Sunshiny Day

Hi there!!!  Happy Monday to you!  I have a sunny card to share with you today for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps Monday Inspiration!  I debated about whether to create a Christmas card but then I decided to go with a sunny card more in keeping with warm days of summer in honor of my sweet friend who weathered the deep freeze of winter and doesn't wish to think of winter!

I combined  three SCS challenges for this creation.  I dry embossed the clouds then finger painted them.  The butterfly from   PPRS CLR001 Butterflies Clear Stamp Set was heat embossed with white EP and then swished (using Susie Australia's terminology here) the butterfly through distress ink spritzed with water.  The sentiment is also from PPRS CLR001 Butterflies Clear Stamp Set.

Speedy Fox & Friends - Block Stamping

Happy Summer Saturday everyone!  What a beautiful Saturday it is, too!  We have had a great summer with several highlights to remember and one of them is that I had the incredible privilege of meeting MariLynn DeGroot of Mississippi McGyver!!!  I'll tell you all about our visit and share her gifties at the end of this post.  For now let's chat a bit about Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge.

Our challenge this week is to use an acrylic block to stamp our backgrounds.  Just ink up the acrylic block, spritz with water and stamp on CS.  The Silhouette Pear from Pretty Pears set worked really well with this technique as the background shows through the negatives!

I created this when Kimberly was here and she was so intrigued she made one too!  I wish I had a photo of hers.

*******
Is there anything more fun than making friends online and then getting to meet them??!!!  I have been admiring MariLynn's work since the first time I saw it while on my first ever blog hop which just happened to be for Mark's Finest Papers!  Who knew that three years later I would be working along with her at MFP AND we would actually get to meet!

As we started to get to know each other we learned that we have a lot in common, one of which is that she lived here about 20 years ago and we even attended the same church although our paths didn't cross!
MariLynn and family are back here for a quick visit and we met up at CFA today!!!  What a sweet spirit!  I kind of guessed that she was precious from her blogs and FB chats but to meet IRL, Oh My!!!  What a treasure she is!  I was able to meet two of her children as well, so sweet!!!!!

Can two stampers meet without sharing some goodies, I don't think so!!!!  My gift to MariLynn will be shown here in September but I get to share with you what MariLynn gave me!!!

(I think she did better for me than I did for her actually!)
I saw the card in her SCS gallery and drooled over it, I never imagined I would have the pleasure of seeing it in IRL!  She also made me this adorable box in PINK!  Sweet!
LOOK at all the rolled flowers she filled the box with!  OMW The amount of time that must have taken!  I am going to have a struggle with myself not to hoard them!

WOYWW and a visit from our friend Kimberly

Happy WOYWW everyone!  Are you wondering what WOYWW is?   Each week Julia at Stamping Ground sends us around the world  via the ever faithful Mister Linky for peeks inside one another's work spaces!  I can't wait to see what's on your work desk this week!

So what's on my desk this week?  Well it's crazy messy!  I am doing my best to try and get ahead on some deadlines but summer fun is making it a tiny bid difficult!!!   I cleaned up just enough space so that I could showcase these sweet cards made by my daughter's friend Kimberly.  On Saturday's post I shared a bit about her visit with us and how we are going to miss her.

I can't resist sharing my love for stamping so on a previous visit Kimberly caught the stamping bug.   On this visit we stopped to run an errand and somehow papers, punches and washi tape jumped in our cart as a little belated birthday gift!  We had a good time in the stamping room as Kimberly used her new goodies and I worked on DT projects!   Elisabeth humored us but stamping isn't her thing.  I think Kimberly made about five cards and I am so sorry that I didn't get a photo of each one, she is quite talented!  I love what she did with the Washi tape and little punched flowers on the card she made for Elisabeth and don't you just love the multi colored petals on the one she gave me?!!  Kimberly wrote the sweetest notes inside as well.  We will really miss her!

Elisabeth was goofing off with a scrap of embossed paper she found.  Kimberly is adding dimension to her flowers with a stylus.

Sweet girls!

Thanks for stopping by and happy WOYWW!!!

PPRS Monday Inspiration - Summer Poppy Garden

Hi!  I hope you had a great weekend!  On Saturday I enjoyed spending time with a good friend and then headed to the craft stores (for the first time this summer) followed by the dreaded grocery store.  All in all an enjoyable Saturday (minus the grocery store)!

I am still on a red kick so JJ0036 - Poppies Garden image was an easy choice for today's PPRS Monday Inspiration!   It's a fun image to color and worked beautifully with Splitcoaststampers SC496 sketch challenge. I added a bit of paper lace using D034 Floral Border, and a couple of gems finished the card.

There's more Monday Inspiration at Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps blog, so hop on over and check out the goodies my teammates have created today!

Speedy Fox & Friends - I am seeing RED!

Hello there!  Happy weekend to you!
Why am I seeing red? The Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge
this week is to create a card and make it RED!

Today I am sneak peeking ROSES, one of the new sets being released next week on Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps a HC blog.

Do you ever create something that holds a special memory?  This card will always put a smile on my face as it has a bittersweet memory attached to it.  I created this in my tiny craft room with my daughter and her friend.  Her friend is moving away, so sad.  We were blessed to get the chance to have her visit with us for a couple of days right before she left.  Kimberly caught the stamping bug on a previous visit to our house!  She LOVED playing in my stamp room.  What a thrill!  Sadly my daughter has no interest so you can imagine how fun it was for me.  :)   Even though DD tried to pull Kimberly away from the stamp room she insisted on staying and watching me color this rose with Inktense pencils.

For the inside I kept the same layout but used the smaller rose image and stamped it in the lower corner.

**********

I showed Kimberly how to add texture to punched flowers by using a stylus.
My sweet girl is humoring us and keeping occupied with glitter glue and marker!  She prefers drawing and says she can't stand cutting and measuring  to create cards.

Prickley Pear Monday - Summer Bike Ride

Hello friends!  It's Monday and that means time for some Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp Inspiration!  I chose this pretty  KK0035 Country Bicycle stamp for today's card.  I kept the design very simple to keep all the attention on the stamped scene.  I added the sentiment from  CLR012 Flowers Clear Set.
It fits so perfectly with the bike that it seems like they were made for each other!

The DT at Prickley Pear have come up with some fabulous summer inspiration and you can view them all on the PPRS BLOG today!
TFL and have a great week!

Speedy Fox & Friends - Four Square

Hello!  I hope you are enjoying a nice long 4th of July weekend.  It's business as usual at our house as my hubby's scheduled day off was mid-week and doesn't have a day off until Monday.  The kids and I enjoyed a quiet day at home on the 4th which was fine since it's been a rather busy week.

The Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge this week is to create a card with a four square background.  I stamped the smaller bloom from the HUGE BLOOMS set using TH distress inks, Wild Honey and Mustard Seed, spritzed inked stamp with water then stamped on CS.

This is not my favorite kind of challenge as I am "alignment challenged".  I would love to know  if anyone else struggles with getting all their little blocks straight across the card front!  In the midst of my measuring and remeasuring, guess who decided to jump up on my desk, drink my water and then give me her back???
