Creating with Coffee

Hello!  For this week's Red Rubber Designs card I checked out the challenges at Splitcoaststampers and found two that combined beautifully together.

Dina is the hostess this week for the MIX157 challenge and her challenge is to paint with coffee!  Mmmmmm...coffee isn't just a beverage anymore!

I watercolored the background layer with coffee then stamped splatters from "So Splattered" with VersaFine ink.  For a final bit of splatter, I took the smallest splatter stamp and brushed it with coffee, then stamped randomly. The single heart, the hearts all in a row and the sentiment are included in the "I Heart You" stamp set.  I love how rich the single heart turned out with an extra dark layer of coffee around the edges!

I distressed all the layers with a distressing tool and TH Distress Tea Dye Ink.  Who knew coffee and tea went so well together!!!

For my final step, I took a glass dipped in coffee and stamped it on the designer paper.

I played with  SC577 sketch and changed it up just a bit for my design.

Here's a look at the fabulous, I Heart You stamp set:
