Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!  Phew!  Did it come faster this year?  I suppose if we asked a young child they would tell us that it's been a long wait but wow, I am sure it was Thanksgiving just  last week!

I imagine Mary was thinking that the birth of her son was coming a little too fast as she traveled from her home to the city of Bethlehem!  Away from home in the last weeks of her pregnancy, among the last stragglers to arrive in Bethlehem, no rooms available.  I am sure she was thinking this baby can't be born tonight but because he was, today we have beautiful symbols to remember this most cherished event.

Today I am featuring a verse from the Luke 2 stamp set by The Project Bin.  I pulled out one of the last of my Christmas die cuts that were gifted to me and paired it with the Luke 2:11 stamp.  The bold font of this stamp pairs beautifully with the silhouetted scene.

This week's F4A357 challenge is to create a night time scene.  For my night sky, I used my favorite background technique.  I stamped ink on my craft mat and spritzed with water then swished the paper through the ink.  I laid down TH Distress ink: Seedless Preserves first and let dry, then Broken China but I wanted a deeper blue so I sprinkled Brushos Ultra Marine on the craft mat and swished again. My daughter thought it was missing something and suggested I add yellow to the lower portion to give the stable light so I added Mustard Seed.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a very
 Merry Christmas!

  1. Lovely card and what a great sentiment set. The colours are great and yes the yellow glow is spot on! Christmas has come a bit fast here too and I am just finishing Dave's parcels. I then need to do some ironing and try to get the cards put up. Happy and Blessed Christmas to you all xxx

  2. Oh, Angie, what a beautiful card, and I love your amazing sky! It did need that bit of yellow! Yes, I would well imagine that Mary was anxious about when the birth of Jesus would be...and where. But God took such good care of them, and we praise God for sending His Son Jesus to save His people from sin and death. Luke 2:11 is my favorite Christmas verse, and I love the bold font too. Beautifully done, sweet friend, and I wish you and the entire family a blessed and joyful Christmas! Much love and hugs...always! xoxo
