This Mouth

Brenda is our hostess for the Inspiration Challenge this week and she has chosen a huge site to inspire us.  We could browse all day!  I found a lot of wooden signs like THIS photo which reminded me of this hilarious stamp.  I paired the sentiment stamp with the adorable Veronica, who just happens to be holding a heart!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Splash!

I often see interesting images in everyday objects. I see smiles in the inner workings of my toaster, the front of cars and my razor! Cloud shapes are very entertaining. And occasionally I see odd things in the yard or woods only to find it's just a leaf! When I first laid eyes on this die I immediately saw abstract flowers!  I added a "thank you" sentiment with a bold font to go with my chunky abstract flowers.  Lastly, I added a pretty bow around the bouquet!

I get a kick out of extending my stamps and dies by finding different ways to use them!  Now here is a project featuring the same die but this time I am using it in the way it was intended!  I stamped this gorgeous sea on the lower portion of the card then die cut the splash on the upper layer. It's peaceful to look out past a body of water at the horizon, hence the calming sentiment!  But, I used only the first word of the sentiment by masking off the rest.

Lastly, I added Wink of Stella to the sea for a dash of sparkle!

Picket Fence Studios turns 1 and is throwing a month long party! Stop by the PFS blog often to check out gorgeous samples from designers around the world AND for a chance to win prizes!

Thanks for stopping by!
Now here's one more look at the items I used today.

Die Cut Obsession - Pinked and Stitched

Happy Monday everyone!  Today is Die Cut Obsession day at Impression Obsession!  The designers have fabulous new Impression Obsession die projects to share so hop on over to the Impression Obsession Blog! for links to all the participant's posts.

With my card today, I indulged my passion for cats and quilts!  Using these gorgeous banners, I created a cozy quilt.   I tucked the darling cat under the quilt and placed her on a "bed" cut from this stitched set.

I also played along with this week's Featured Stamper at SCS.  I found a card in Catherine's gallery that had a loose basket weave which inspired my stitched quilt!

The Den and a Winner!

Happy Saturday everyone!  One more day and we get to celebrate that He is Risen!  My card reflects the good news with a gorgeous sunburst!

have become quite a fan of birds since we put up feeders where we can watch them so I had to add some happy bluebirds to my scene.  I love that the birds also have coordinating dies and come in a bundled set at a discount!  Dies are a huge time saver when building scenes!  It was fun to quickly stencil the sunburst in the background then pop up these beautiful little birds after coloring and die cutting them.  I have a lot of trouble fussy cutting small things so dies are a must for me!

It's so true that our gatherings are not complete if our entire tribe can't be together for an event! With one child in college and another, just months away from heading off to college this stamp set and coordinating die or bundled set is particularly poignant!

This week Stacy is our hostess for the Inspiration Challenge at Splistcoaststampers.  She has chosen a beautiful photographer's site for our inspiration.  I always enjoy the inspiration found in this challenge!

Now what you all have been waiting for.................

Shoes

My husband says I have figured out how to even make creating into a game!  In a way he is right!  I LOVE to create but I love it, even more, when I can enter my card into an online challenge, hence the game!  For today's card, I peeked into the VSN thread at SCS and found Lisa's challenge: These Shoes Were Made for Walking.  The main VSN happened this past weekend but the lovely hostesses give us a whole week to upload!

This beautiful girl and coordinating die by Picket Fence Studios fits Lisa's challenge with her amazing shoes.  You can also purchase her as a bundled set at a discounted price! The overall theme for this VSN challenge is about "traveling from here to there".  Are you wondering how a birthday card fits a traveling theme?  Well, both my sister and my daughter share the same birthdate in June so both of them tend to be on vacation for their birthdays.  I don't remember it ever bothering my sister but my daughter hates to have her birthday while on vacation even though we always make it a special day.

For the background, I stamped the gorgeous Wild Rose Bouquet then popped up Kate with the ease of the coordinating die!  I just love not having to fussy!  Another thing I love about this particular die is that it cuts out the opening between Kate's back and the shoulder strap of the purse!  I can never get nice cuts like that with an exacto knife!

I am also playing along with Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  They have a gorgeous mood board to inspire us this week! It's easy to see which photo inspired my background!

Picket Fence Studios Release Day and a Giveaway!

Happy National Reach as High as You Can Day!  Yep, there's a day for that!  The day is set aside to remind us not to just drift but reach for our dreams. Reach as high as we can! I have been reaching all week for my art supplies in hopes of inspiring you with the fabulous April Picket Fence Studios Release!! So sit back and enjoy because I have several cards to share with you!

First up is this beautiful girl! I had fun with the random lines of this stencil by adding encouraging sentiments.  Lastly, I finished off the card by die cutting Lorynne with her coordinating die! This set can also be purchased as a bundle at a 20% discount!

I am entering this in the Pack Your Bags VSN challenge at SCS!

I love creating fun backgrounds when I can easily die cut my main image!

Next up I am featuring the gorgeous stand-alone leaf die  along with this darling bird set and coordinating dies. The sentiment can be found with these pretty birds which also has a coordinating die set.  Chirp Chirp and Pretty Birds also come in bundled sets!

With this card, I am celebrating this week's Featured Stamper at SCS!

I love being able to die cut these sweet little birds.  I would not be able to fussy cut such small images. The stand-alone leaf die is gorgeous and the pieces fall out easily without requiring multiple passes through the die cutting machine.

For my last card, I thought I would be a little playful with this pack group set!  There is always one person in a group that adds that extra spark, that one person who makes the parties fun!  When they leave it's as if they took all the energy with them.  We have one of those in our family, I imagine you do too!  :)

I thought I would have fun with the background so I added some party "confetti" with the sprinkles and heart decorations from this yummy set!

This is for the Don't Forget to Pack Your Bags VSN Challenge at SCS!
I love that this sweet pack set has coordinating dies!  I didn't use it on this card but I will have one to share with you soon!  This pack set also comes in a discounted bundle set!

I hope you are still with me because I did mention a giveaway in the title of this post!!  I have this super sweet BFF Owl to give away.
Check out the cute little bow AND she is even holding coffee!  I love to learn about my stamping friends so to be in the running for a chance to win this cute owl, all you have to do is answer 3 questions inspired by the projects I created!
  • How many grad cards will you make this year?
  • Are you a bird watcher?
  • Who do you know that makes any gathering fun?
That's it, leave me your answers, I will pick a winner by random drawing on Friday the 19th at 12:00pm EST. Winner will be announced, Saturday the 20th!

Thanks for looking and just to let you know I have used affiliate links today with no extra cost added to you!
