Hello, it's the first of the month and time for a new Fan Club Christmas Challenge at SCS.  

I enjoyed the creative process of this card even though I should have been spending time with my husband because it was his day off.  Sorry, deer!  I love making Christmas cards and the new Homespun Floral Christmas paper pack made this even more fun to create.  I added a Stitched tag behind the Standing Deer.  The sentiment is from Deer Sayings and die-cut from Rounded Rectangle Layers.  

And that's about it!

A Mushroom & More for IO Die Cut Day

Hello!  It's Die-cut Day at Impression Obsession!

I was in a blue mood this weekend while creating.  Not a sad mood, the color blue!  :)  I carried on the theme into Die-Cut Day!  

I stamped the Sketchy Leaves CAC stamp directly on the card base and heat embossed it.  I love those sketchy leaves!  The Large Mushroom is sure to become a favorite!  For this project, I ink-blended the mushroom top with IO Rose Ink.  The Large Frame is just the right size to show off the sketchy leaves and the Large Mushroom!  I stamped Hello from Anytime Sayings and die-cut it with the Rounded Rectangle Layers.  The rounded rectangle layers and Jeanne's sentiments are going to be my go-to's for numerous future projects!

Frame It!

 Hello, this week's F4ALL Challenge at SCS is Frame It!  

I used the new Large Mushroom die and added a bit of color for shading.  I framed my magical mushroom with the Quilted Frame.  I die cut a sentiment from Anytime Sayings with the Rounded Rectangle Layers.  This was such a fun card to make and it came together quickly.

Watercolor Wednesday - Night Sky

Hello, welcome to Watercolor Wednesday!  I am hosting this week's challenge at SCS.  We are following a tutorial by Kolbie Blume.  

I painted the night sky and then splattered gouache for the stars.  My gouache splatter was too watery and spread beyond the size of stars in a night sky.  Turns out, I have a snowy night and not a starry one!  

At the end of the video Kolbie Blume, suggests journaling what we LOVE and what we LEARNED about our paintings.  I like that idea instead of pointing out everything that is wrong, as I tend to do.  

What I love: I achieved a bright night sky as well as darker edges to the sky and dark trees.  

What I learned: I need to practice scumbling and making pointy trees.  I need to check the thickness of the guache before splattering.  

The sentiment is from a new set, Anytime Sayings and the die used to cut out the sentiment is from Rounded Rectangle Layers.

IO Theme Day - Holidays - Autumn

This month's Theme Day for Impression Obsession is Holidays - Any Holiday. 

Thanksgiving becomes more and more precious as our kids grow up adding new friends and new family members to the table!!  We are excited about this coming Thanksgiving as we will have a daughter-in-law at the table!

Autumn in the Air - IO August Release & Giveaway Day Three

Boo!  Welcome to Day 3 of the IO August Release Hop & Giveaway!

Today I am showing off the new stencils!  

Firstly, I used the new Web Stencil and inked it in my favorite color trio.  The ghosts and sentiment are from Spooky Day.  I added a bit of a shadow bubble by die-cutting a second Speech Bubble in black.  

Next, up is the gorgeous Layered Leaf.  This is a set of three large stencils. The large size makes for a striking impact!  The sentiment is from the Still Fall For You set.

Christmas Pooh & Piglet Too - IO August Release & Giveaway Day Two

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the Impression Obsession August Release & Giveaway!

Today I am featuring a couple of the new Pooh scenes!  There is also a new Pooh Paper pack for loads of creative Pooh projects.

First up I watercolored the sweet Pooh Wreath.  It's such a great size that it doesn't need anything extra except a sentiment!  

Next up is the Piglet Eeyore Tree.    Such a sweet scene.  

**I am going to include my  Watercolor Wednesday card since I used a sentiment from Piglet Eeyore Tree.  I painted the pinecone free hand and then stamped the pretty sentiment.  I love finishing my watercolor cards with a greeting from IO stamps!

IO August Release & Giveaway - I Still Fall for You

Hello and welcome to the Impression Obsession August Release & Giveaway! 

There is so much to love in this release we need three days to share what's new! 

First up, is the adorable squirrel from I Still Fall for You.  I created a mini slimline for him with the Pinked Mini SL Die Set and the Stitched Mini SL Layers 2.  The background paper is Fall Floral.  

Next,  I mixed an image from the I Still Fall for You stamp set and a cute sentiment from Spooky Day!  The patterned paper layers are from the Fall Floral Paper pack.  Lastly, I combined the Stitched Mini Slimline Layers and the Stitched Mini SL Layers 2 for the stitched layered look.  

How about another look at the Spooky Day set?  I used a scene from the beautiful Autumn Scenes Paper pack as the background for these adorable Spooky Day ghosts!  A Rounded Rectangle Layered die fit the sentiment perfectly!  Easy peasy and slightly spooky!

A Path Less Traveled - Product Focus - Patterned Paper

Hello!  This month's Product Focus at Impression Obsession is Patterned Paper!  The paper packs are full of gorgeous patterns and scenes.  The paper is double-sided, thick, with a bit of a sheen.  IO ink can be stamped directly on the paper without smearing and it also looks lovely with die cut pieces!   You can find all the patterned paper packs, HERE.

We just spent the weekend camping with new friends.  We had a wonderful time getting to know them.  We laughed a lot and made new memories!  It seemed like a great time to bring out the Camping with Bigfoot Set to go along with the a beautiful piece of paper from the Autumn Scenes Paper Pack.  The new Rounded Rectangle Layers will fit any of Jeanne Streiff''s sentiments for a nice finished look to the sentiment!   The frame is from the Rectangle 6 in 1 Frames.

Winter Floral Wishes - August Kit Hop & Giveaway Day 2 -

Hello and welcome to the August Kit Hop & Giveaway!

I love Christmas and Christmas card making, so I was excited to see the beautiful images in the August Limited Edition Kit.  

For the first card, I searched online for a photo of a blue poinsettia.  I found a photo of a blue poinsettia plant with soft green leaves at the top, and I colored my poinsettia in a similar fashion.  I also added Country Snowflakes behind the Poinsettia.  

For the next card, I created a black and white background featuring some of the smaller images in the kit with a focus on the Mistletoe.
