"Lucky You"

The mini stamp set we have for you this month is

"Take Time Mini"

Hi and welcome to the first day of the hop.  We are showcasing "Pocket Watches" today.

When I started playing with this background I really had no idea where I was going!    I stained the card stock with Spiced Marmalade and Dusty Concord.  Then I laid down a stencil and applied an oak spray.  That was really pretty but too stark and wouldn't allow for stamping due to the darkness of the stenciled areas.   I added Gesso  and sponged over the entire panel with Mustard Seed Ink and then stained more Spiced Marmalade.......and that's how the panel came to be.  I think the end result is a great vintage look and works well with MFPSaHC "Pocket Watches"
For the inside I stamped off once on scrap paper so that I was left with a soft stamped image.  I love how the sentiment is designed so that it's easy to mask and place the first half on the front and the second half on the back!

Thanks for looking!
Don't forget to leave a comment on this blog for a chance to win today's feature and I hope you will hop along to see the beautiful projects created by the rest of my talented teammates!

  1. I like how your card turned out with all your experimenting.

  2. Your card creating process sounds a bit like being in a lab. I get messy enough with just ink and glue! The card turned out great though so the techniques are obviously sound!

  3. Your card is very pretty! I love that you stamped the full size inside the card, too!

  4. Great card -- lots of work but the results were worth it.

  5. Such a fun technique on the front. I like how the inside is done and muted too. This is an idea I had not thought of. Thank you for sharing.

  6. Like the full use of the stamp; especially for the soft look.
    "Sunshine HoneyBee"

  7. Very very pretty card!!! Great idea's.

  8. Your card is really pretty! I like the addition of the soft green ribbon.

  9. I really like this one and love the fact that the bow softens the look of it a bit.

  10. I really love the way you used the green with the background. It ties(no pun intended) the ribbon in to the card beautifully. Great job.

  11. Angie,
Very pretty card and what a wonderful technique.

  12. I really like how the background looks on the front of your card. So many different textures and colors. I love the idea of stamping off for the inside.

  13. So very pretty, I love how you sponged the green and added the green ribbon.

  14. Such a lovely vintage look, Angie!! Love the green bow! Great card!!

  15. That mustard seed ink makes for a beautiful finish......Lis

  16. Angie--what a lovely card both inside and out! Just wonderful! TFS

  17. Angie, LOVE all of the clocks for the BG and inside and LOVE how you split the sentiment! Pretty bow, too! FAB card!

  18. Very pretty. Need to get my Gesso out.

  19. I love the subtlety of these cards. Quite lovely!

Come and see what I've done!

  21. Stunning images and I so love that colour combo.

  22. So pretty, that green is a great colour! :)

  23. I love both of your samples... That first one really did turn out incredible!

  24. I love your mixed media art, Angie! I hope you keep it up because it's beautiful! This turned out so rich and full of character, just like old watches!

  25. This is really pretty - I love how your bow just sets it off perfectly!
