Impression Obsession Old is New - Cat Nap

It's time to bring out our Impression Obsession classic stamps so I am featuring Cat Nap. This image makes me think of my mom-in-law! She creates the most beautiful quilts!  She has given us quite a few and we treasure each one!  Another thing I think is fun about this stamp, is that this image can be used to celebrate different seasons just by changing the coloring on the quilt. Talk about stretching your stamps!

My color combo came from a piece of patterned paper which I thought I was going to use to frame the image.  After I was done coloring, I realized the patterned paper was too busy for the image and I ended up with this relatively CAS setting. I finished off the card with a sentiment from Card Sentiments.

The Impression Obsession team has set aside a couple days a month to share some new projects using some great classic stamps. You can see the list of today’s participants on the Impression Obsession blog!

You've Got This

This week's Featured Stamper at SCS is  Ankita (glitter.doodles).  She has a gorgeous gallery full of happy cards!  I found a card with a colorful background, a bold sentiment and a splash of sequins.  HERE is a link to my SCS gallery and you can view Ankita's beautiful card!

For my card, I chose to do the Stamped Acylic Block stamping and stamped this fun sentiment from Impression Obsession. Instead of the scattering of sequins like Ankita did on her card I grouped mine in the corners for sparkle and flash!

I hope you have a great week ahead!

I Love Your Face

It's no secret I am a fan of kitties! They fascinate me with their behavior and melt my heart with their cuddles.  I don't always understand them but I love them.  I love creating all types of cards but nothing makes me smile like creating with a cat image. So today I am having fun with this sweet kitty from Picket Fence Studios.  The background was created with this fabulous background stamp and I added the sentiment from this cute stamp set. Then to finish off the card I added a little bow!  I just love those curling eyelashes on this sweet face!

For my next card, I followed the design of the Floral Tag Tutorial at Splitcoaststampers but I stenciled my background with this fun stencil instead of stamping.  I stenciled on the card base using these fabulous blending brushes.  Next, I created a tag and stenciled the lower portion of the tag and added this sentiment!

I will be entering these into an upcoming challenge at SCS!

That's it for me today but here is one more link at the Picket Fence Studios stamp sets featured today:

Impression Obsession Challenge - Flowers for Friends

The new Impression Obsession Challenge is up and the theme is "Flowers for Friends"  I chose to color this gorgeous Spring Flower Basket which is a treat to color!  The stamp is gorgeous and fills an A2 card beautifully without needing a lot of extra design elements!  However, this is such a beautiful image it would also feature beautifully in any type of setting.

Since our challenge is Flowers for Friends, I decided to add this friendship sentiment from Card Sentiments.  I love how skinny it is!  Simply perfect for a sweet greeting without taking any visual impact from the flower basket!

Now it's your turn to play along with the challenge!  Head on over to the Impression Obsession blog to see all the challenge samples from the design team and details on entering the challenge. You can enter to win a $25 gift certificate from IO by linking up your "All About Love" card.   The winning project will be chosen at random and will be showcased on the IO blog!

I am also going to enter this into this month's Dirty Dozen Challenge.
I just discovered the Floral Challenge. The challenge is to use one of our latest stamps or dies and this is very new to me and never seen ink so I am going to add my card there as well.

Rescued is my Favorite Breed

I couldn't resist playing along with the CAS challenge at SCS today.  We are to use 1/3 of the card for this challenge.  I am featuring one of the new sets by Picket Fence Studios, Rescue is my Favorite Breed.  The little silhouettes are darling!  For a little extra fun, I used the Random Dots Stencil.  First I stenciled on Peanut Brittle color and then Dandelion.  Purely by accident, I found that stenciling a second color on top of the first adds a little extra punch!  The  Life Changing Blending Brushes are such a fun and easy way to add color.  They come in several different size packages linked below.

Today is a great day to shop because Picket Fence is offering 20% off today with coupon code PRES20 and shipping is always FREE!

Die Cut Obsession - Bird Watching

Today I am featuring beautiful dies from Impression Obsession!  I created a scene inspired by my daily bird watching.  All during the day, we stop and simply watch the comings and goings of a very active bird community.  We enjoy a large family of cardinals which are simply gorgeous whether framed on branches without leaves or clutching a branch of the holly bush.  Jerry and Gayle (Parks and Rec) are our House Finches, they were briefly joined by a large community of House Finches but they seem to have since moved on leaving Jerry and Gayle to entertain us alone.  We enjoy watching a multitude of Yellow Finches and sparrows zoom back and forth as well as a population of the Tufted Titmouse.
To create my scene, I used the following dies and colored them with Copic markers: Birdhouse Set, Grass Border, and Cardinals.  For my birds, I used the Cardinals Die and colored them in a variety of ways reflecting my backyard view but IO also has a Small Bird Set that could be used to add a variety of birds to a scene.

The IO design team have set aside a couple days to share some fabulous new Impression Obsession die projects! Have fun checking out what the Designers have made today. A list of participants can be found on the Impression Obsession Blog!

Lucky Enough to be Different!

It's Saturday and that means it's time for a new Inspiration Challenge at SCS!  Stacy has chosen a gorgeous site for us! I found THIS photo. The flowing pattern on the glass is gorgeous and made me think of the Waffle Square Stencil by Picket Fence Studios!  I stamped and colored  Boho Gypsy Girl then die cut the image with the Coording Die.  Lastly, I added this meaningful sentiment from Be a Unicorn of the Sea!
I can't say enough about how much I love Picket Fence Studios coordinating dies!  I love that they fit easily around the image and I love being able to make fun backgrounds without having to mask or fussy cut!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Release Day at Picket Fence Studios

**Edit - 2/18/18 until midnight** Picket Fence is having a sale! Presidents Sale 20% off and shipping is always FREE. Use Coupon Code: PRES20

It's Release day at Picket Fence Studios and the Design Team has been having so much fun creating with the new designs!  I can't wait to share what I have been working on so let's get right to it!

First up I am featuring the Succulent Blossoms set.  This is a lovely set with eight images! When I colored the  Aeonium African Succulent last month I used a photo inspiration. So I decided to to do that for the Succulent Blossomsand found THIS photo.  I adore the Picket Fence Studios Coordinating Dies first because they cut beautifully.  Secondly, they make it a snap to create fun backgrounds without the need to mask or fussy cut.  For this background, I used the Waffle Squares stencil.  I love how it adds a feeling of movement to the card.  I never seem to have a birthday card when I need one so I used this pretty sentiment from the oh so adorable I Wish We Could Hug set.

For my next card, I created the background first.  I stamped Gingham in this minty green ink and then moved on to this adorable shopper from BFF Shop Hard!  I colored her in pinks and gave her gray hair.  I think she is adorable!  I used the Coordinating Die to cut her out, easy peasy!  For the finishing touch, I added a sentiment from this set!  This is how I feel when shopping for art supplies!

If you have been following me lately you know my love for cups and mugs and I love nothing better than having a beautiful pattern on my drinkware! So for my last card, I am featuring the Coffee Mug Die and Let's Shake Our Tail Feathers.  I die cut the coffee cup then stamped the peacock feathers with Versamark ink and heat embossed in gold.  I chose this particular sentiment to go with the cup because so often I grab a hot beverage and sit quietly enjoying a bit of calm.

For a full list of all the New Releases, you can pop by HERE.

I am also playing along with the 30 - Day Coloring Challenge.  I colored the cup on Day 11 with watercolor, Day 12 the succulents with Copics12 and Shop Hard on Day 13!

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out Picket Fence Studios newest Release!

Friends Reveal a Bouquet

Stamping friends are some kind of special!  I have made connections online and then actually met in person several stamping friends.  From across the pond and scattered across the States they are some of the loveliest people I have ever met!

I am in a little chatty group with several friends and of course, when special events roll around we like to give one another art supplies.  Now and then we send one another the exact same stamp and then we create a project and have a reveal day.  It's so fun to see one stamp used so many different ways!  Here is our February reveal.

We featured Big Summertime Bouquet and it's on sale right now!!  Just 3.89 through tonight!  All the Itty Bitty's are on sale!

The image was colored with Copics.  I ran out of my lightest blue just as I finished this!  Yikes! The layers were die cut with the beautiful Wonky Stitched Rectangle Stax (which were also a gift) and added a few sequins and that was it!

I colored this on  2/6/19 so I am also entering this into the 30 Day Coloring Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

The Gratest Note Set

Today I am featuring the newest set, The Gratest by The Project Bin.  I decided to create a little note set. The cards are 3 1/4 x 4 inches. They could be tags or just a little set to carry around and just give to random people I meet.  I wished I had had a little card to give my grocery bagger this week.  He was so friendly and sweet.

This one makes me think of my friends at Splitcoaststampers.  Every weekend we select cards that we saw the previous week that we think are amazing.  It is quite an honor to make the Favorites List!

This one is my daughter's favorite:

And here's a look at the full set.  I used every image except the bee which I featured last week.

Here is a close-up!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
